Hi, this is not a problem, as its the way Quake itself starts. But yes, you can change it, and here's how... Go to your id1 folder, and find the file mod.cfg Open it with note pad, word pad, or your fav text editor, and find the line that looks like this: startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3 Now, simply add // before the line so it looks like this: // startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3 Save the file and run the game. Hi, just go ahead and save it as a zip file, and then, after you've saved it, simply change it to a .qmod extension as you'd change any file name in windows You'll probably get a dialogue asking you to confirm and warning you that changing a file extension is not recommended but click yes anyway... Okay, as I've said already, in order to play the mod, you must press M at the main menu to get a list of mods. once you do that, you can then run Jedi Quake from there. When Quake starts, You will need to start the game manually. this is how Quake itself runs. Reading the Audio quake manual may be in order at this point... to enter the console, press your ` or ~ key. This will toggle the console on and off. You can use the console to input commands regarding the game or to chat with other players during it if you're online... If you'd like to get up and running more quickly, instead of running the mod, you can simply start quake and type tut into the console which will start you on some tutorial maps... Otherwise, you can either start quake with or without the mod and type dm in the console to get a starting deathmatch map with bots that you can play against. I warn you though, smile In JQ the bots are exponentially more difficult than in standard mode and play more quickly and more like experienced human players. So if you're not familiar with the game to start with, you might want to start off with the standard game to get a feel for it, and so it will be fun... It's up to you!... Just uninstall it, download the file again and reinstall it. oftentimes that clears the problem right up. Don't use the same file because chances are some of it became corrupted in the process of download. Get a completely new file and try it that way. Bryan, the error is Runtime error 75 file access error. OK button. This only happens on my laptop, but i'm waiting to get my xp laptop from my dad. I have the same error but on my desktop computer. It was giving me the same error during demo and now even though I have the game registered. don't think, don't stop, don't even look at your base stats. And try to stay with your machine guns when ever possible. Use shield when you absolutely need as it needs recharging and if you must use a nuke or rocket, try to keep your machine gun rythm up. Firstly you should try to get to level 10 al almost get there. Its hard to know what is your issue as I have everything under the sun on here and more, today for example I updated my resource and programming toolkits. HI MOst inform games should work. YOu have to look at their file extentions to know what if runner it will work with. Files with the extention z3, z5, z8, or zblorb are the most common file extentions for winfrotz tts. I preffer the origional winfrotz myself though. Good luck. [Audyssey] Chillingham Question
Hi all. A question for all you chillingham players. In the anteeque store, You have 3 songs that you get to play on the victrola. What are the 3 songs, and who sang it on the records? The reason i'm asking you guys is because I went out and purchased a 1904 victrola from Lunge Auction and I want to know what the songs were in the games and whether you guys could find a 78rpm records of the songs. [Audyssey] Judgement day order problem fix
Hi gang, I was finally able to order Liam's excellent game Judgment Day, as I was one of the folks having the problem of it not taking my state abbreviation on the order form. I decided to take another stab at it today, as Liam was good enough to buy a pre order of my Rail Racer game, and I wanted to return the favor. It turns out I had to enter the full name of my state in the abbreviation field instead of the two letter code. Hi David, Yeah, that is always possible, but building all of that it into one game is complicated. I had a college professor who once said, when programming keep it simple stupid. Over the yearsI have learned that is the best practice. Don't try and over complicate the project and look for the simplist and most uncomplicated solution for a project. In this case we don't want to have a million different things going on in the game. We would need one simple and basic storyline, pick one of our favorite starships, a few favorite enemies, and work with that. In short what it says is where to get the Microsoft DirectX SDK downloads, where to get Visual C# Express, and how to get materials from safari to begin learning. If you do those things you will be ready to go. Also I am working on an open source version of Asteroids in C# which should probably help you have a game as a guide to learn to write games as well. Anyway, as far as holding keys down and such, you can either press or press / hold the up or down arrows to go forward / backward respectively, however, the left / right arrows are just tapped. I may be working on changing that in future so that they can also be held down for a smooth turn, so we'll see... As it is, it's a 16 point turn, with each press of the left or right arrow turning you 22.5 degrees. One way of identifying the sounds, (though crude) would be to go into your sounds folder in id1 and there you will find the various folders for the AQ sounds, which are pretty self explanatory.
