Haha, the mighty Raul? LOL, that is a new one. I got 1.5 billion on this table a couple of weeks after the party pack came out. I'm still holding a grudge that that score is tgone. If you look at the gamers archives though, you will see it is true. I did say 1.5 billion. Or was it 1.2 billion? In any case, it was definitely billion. Took me like five hours to play too. Anyways, thanks for the compliments. * Richard Sherman [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2007-01-06 13:09]: Hi Raul, Just listened to your play and it is great that even the mighty Raul has the same problems I do on this table. Re: [Audyssey] sporting games
If you have Jaws I have create some Configurations for the Strat O Matic Computer Hockey game. I found this one having the least amount of configuration work needed then the Baseball, football or Basketball Computer Games. To date. I'll being playing my first net play baseball game in my Draft League. That's right head to head with a friend on the web! The Baseball game's Jaws configurations are completed and the final startup kit with its free demo will be updated on playball.ws to include the LOC folder. The LOC folder will help those who are blind and want to net play with a person who is not blind. ON the basketball court I am upgrading to a new version to complete my Jaws configurations There is lettle more work need such as passing to the Center in the paint. For Football, I have to review some work I had done with HotClick. With the newer verion of Jaws now may allow me to do certan things with Jaws that may not need a independent software to help Jaws to make a game accessible. Lastly for Hockey, as I mentioned the work was easy, but not much interested for a Hockey Manager sim like Strat's Computer Game. As of now there is no free demo of the game. ONly demo there is available is the Baseball game which I got premission from the Strat Company to give to others. The demo has not time limit so one can play it forever. There is no Game sounds like crack of the bat in the demo. This is to keep the download to a small enough size for slow connections. You can find our more by going to http://www.playball.ws You may even catch me 'Crash' in the Dougout on: http://www/for-the-people.com Where I am playing the 1939 season game. There I may be playing aginst the Ted Williams Red Sox or Mel Otts Giants during this week in my Draft League of the HRFL. I am hoping to hookup with my friend Tom to play a game with the Cubs and his Cards on the web. Aslo looking to play the first net play game having two blind amangers with my buddy David soon. Mostly this game will be done on for the People site. Hoping David and I can have many net play games there. They have Jim Kitchen Golf game being played now on a daily bases. And having my own blind Draft net play league is a dream of mine that is slowly comeing true. Hi Kerry, The STFC 1.0 release requires the December 2006release of Microsoft DirectX. Have you installed it? If not visit http://www.usagames.us go to the system requirements page and download and instal the December DirectX web setup utility which should solve your problem. The other possible issue could be your .NET Framework could be out of date. Make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 or better. Re: [Audyssey] Dark is Baaaack!
Hi Dark, I personally feel that learning a fully qualified programming language is worht it's wait in gold as far as writing the highest quality of games not to mention for features etc... However, that is only as good as the developer. As you pointed out not everyone has hours to spend working on learning a programming language, and it is certainly a life long field of studdy like art, music, etc. The more you program the better you are, and you aren't anything unless you practice, practice, practice, and more practice. I often see misleading titles like Learn C++ in 21 days or learn C in 24 hours. Oh, sure it is possible you might figure out the fundimental basics, but you haven't learned anything really useful in that time other than how to creat4e functions, declare variables, construct simple classes, object,s and so on. That is one reason I am putting out some open source examples so people can opick up a basics book like that, and then read the open source and get a feel for how it all works together. With Audio Game Maker I can conceive of newby amatures picking up and producing a Space Invaders shoot-m-up in a couple of months as aposed to 6 months or a year of study in a programming language of choice. ___ Gamers mailing list .. [Audyssey] world of legends
hello, just wanted to let you all know about a game i found called world of legends (those of you who go on the audiogames.net forum will know what i am talking about.) this is not to be confused with legends, i think it's totally different. for one thing, it's only 600 kb in size, but it's still rather large. it's a text-based role playing game, and you must complete 15 quests. the game's good for what it is, but it's annoying that it's number choices instead of you going north, east, south and west there are things like town, desert, great grass lands etc. but, i urge anyone who's interested to seek it out on google, that way you will eventually find it. ___ Gamers mailing list .. [Audyssey] urban reign
if you want a new playstation 2 game, and your a fan of beat-em-ups, you should try urban reign. i have this game and can say one thing: buy it! i think it's the best ever beat-em-up created by namco! you can do combos, grapples, block your opponent's attacks, fight multiple enemies at the same time, fight one-on-one, have multiplayer matches with upto 4 players (including 2-on-2 matches), and have an intense story mode, with 100 missions in total (i am on mission 85, and it's like, really, really hard) you are brad hork, who is a brawler. you are fighting in a city where the crime rate increases every year. numerous gangs have shown up, and they all are there for one thing: supremacy. i really enjoy this game and i am sure that many other people will as well. you can buy it on amazon, ebay, and perhaps even in game stores (though the game is rair, i think) regards, aaron ___ Gamers mailing list .. My personal favorite language for game design is C#.NET, called C--Sharp, and you can obtain a free Visual C# compiler from microsoft as well as some Interductary documentation. For more about C# I have aFAQ on this on my web site at http://www.usagames.us/faq.html and it is near the bottom of the page. [Audyssey] new games from danationcoders
Hey yall, I was just wondering what games in the library are specifically accessible to the blind--lots of one switch games out there... Did play audio escape the other day, and even though it didn't play the next level wave it still was pretty cool--kind of a souped up version of Deekout but not quite as good as Super deekout. The asteroids of Orion sounds fun--I might check it out tonight and see if it's accessible. Ken Downey President DreamTechInteractive! And, Coming soon, Blind Comfort! The pleasant way to get a massage--no staring, just caring. ___ Gamers mailing list .. [Audyssey] A Project I've been meaning to start for years
Hi, I need to get this out in the open. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to make a mud of my own, and I have the perfect plan for one. I've got the framework of the mud layed out perfectly in my mind and everything, it'll be extremely awesome when its finished. I said when, not if. Here's the problem. I have absolutely no idea where to start programming wise. I want it to be a custom codebase because none of the codebases around are adaptable enough for what I want this mud to be, and I refuse to lower it to adapt to any of the codebases on the net anywhere. I suppose I should give out some details. The mud is going to be a Dragon warrior, or Dragon Quest mud if you prefer. It will have multiple plots and storylines to complete, things like you'd find in the game. Basically, here's how it'd work. You create a hero, customize him to your liking using full customizability or classing and then pick a world for him to go into. He will go into that world and you can do whatever you want there, the main plot of the world, all of the sidequests in the world, explore wherever you want to, I think you get the point. I have no ideas for worlds at the moment, but I could think of some easily enough. Every time you beat the main plot of one of the worlds, you'd unlock another customizable character to travel with you in your party and be switched out with the other characters that join up with you in that world whenever you want. You'd be able to keep that hero's level in the world he was in, for example, you beat the main plot of one of the worlds with a level 70 hero, he'd be level 70 in that world, but if you started him in another world he'd have to start back from level 1. This would leave the plots and bosses and all completely balanced. You'd be able to go back to any of the other worlds any time you wanted though and still have your level 70 hero, even if you put him in another world. There could even be expansions to worlds and such. It would be awesome. Well, now that you know a bit about the basic framework, time to get down to the meat of what I want the game to be like. For those of you who have played godwars II, that is what I want the movement system to be like. This would allow for targetting people in towns to talk to, and buildings to enter, and even opening chests and stuff ALA RPG style. You'd be able to do everything you can in the games, even up to picking up barrels and breaking them to find treasure. It'll be an amazingly simple interface, probably one of the simplest to date. You'll move around using targetting, like in godwars. You'll be able to target coordinates, and spacific things, like villagers and buildings. When you're out on the world map, you'll be able to target towns and dungeons. Your action button, so to speak, will simply be A. Using this, you could just walk up to a barrel using the targetting system, hit A, and your guy would pick it up. Then you hit a againt to throw it and your guy breaks the barrel, automatically collecting any treasure inside. Same for opening chests, doors, and whatever else. Obviously the look command will still be there, and that'll be good for finding doors on buildings. You'll be able to move around the building, and when you look at it, it'll tell you where the door of the building is. You press A when you've reached the door and your guy will walk through it and into the building. Then the description of the building will tell you where the door out is, and you'll be able to target it with the target command and walk back out using the A button. Talking will be simple. If you want to talk to someone, you go to them and press a. This will bring up whatever they have to say, and it will be in convensional RPG style, not just all crammed into one line like most games do. They 'll say maybe a sentence and then you hit enter to go to the next sentence they have to say. If a choice needs to be made, it will pop up a menu with the choices that can be made, and you'll select one using the numbers presented. This is also how shops would work, it'd pop up a menu of the items the shop sells, stats and all. You simply select one to buy it and the shopkeep will ask you if you're sure, you choose yes and the item is yours. There will be a menu accessible using the m key. This will bring up a menu similar to the one seen in most dragon warrior games. It will let you cast out of battle spells, there will be an option for talk just to keep the classic feel of the game in, there will be your items and equipment and whatnot to select from, you will be able to pick stats to see your party's stats. Also keeping with the spirit of the game, you will actually have to find save points, which will most likely differ based on the world. At these save points you will be able to save, revive lost characters, see how much experience is needed to level and so on. So now you know about the movement and
