[Audyssey] Ken's SoundRTS Soundpack

2007-07-24 Thread Zachary Kline
Hiya,
I just wanted to congratulate Ken for the excellent sounds. They really
are quite evocative and of the highest quality.
Thanks much for a job well done!
All the best,

[Audyssey] Trade Wars update

2007-07-24 Thread Zachary Kline
Hiya,
I'm glad to report that I got my Trade Wars 2002 registration codes
tonight. I'll spend the next day or so learning the sysop editor tools, and
then create some games for people to join.
My main worry is that if we don't get many interested parties the games
won't be very entertaining. I'll need to do some mainstream TW advertising, I
suppose. Anyways, just felt I should let y'all know how things stood.
Laters,
Zack.

Hi Phil where can I down load the Sarah game again? I had it down loaded
but I do not have my registration number. I am not very good at it. I want
to learn how to play it before I even think about buying it. I do not
understand how to get through the castle other then saying the different
directions. I hit a wall and I just do not get very far. Maybe you would
have some ideas for me thanks. Also where can I down load the baseball

Hay Cara! Sly Here! Hope you are Well! Question for ya. I can't find the

4.0 but not .1. I see three links, First JQ41src/. Then the second is
Jedi Quake 4.1 Documentation.rtf, Then the last one is Jedi Quake 4.1
Impulse and Key List.rtf. The later two files are read only, and the first
link takes me to another page but no jq 4.1 file with the extension .mod
that I saw. Am I missing something? I did manage to get the 4.0 mod, which
was listed next on the tree and It downloaded with no problems. Thanks for
the Very detailed instillation instructions, they were a big help in getting
the 4.0 version of the mod installed. Well Thanks and you Take Care! Sly!

Re: [Audyssey] assistance with sound rts (Replying to Mainstream downloads topic)

2007-07-24 Thread Trenton Matthews
Ah, its quite an amazing idea. However in about 3 days or so, on my web site
anyway, which I'll add to a signature when its finnished up, it won't be
hard to do I'm sure! (web site is currently being treated to a faicial)
Now I'm not sure if this would interest you all or not, there are
several "free domains" services that are quite good, and have no ads at all,
or just a "text-link" at the top or bottom of it. And if sighted people, or
blind-gamers outside the game list here would want to check out an awesome
game, like "Sound RTS" for example, I was thinking of giving out a short URL
that would be easy to remember. And to understand what I mean, here are 3
examples of the 3 services I like, with a sample URL that could be used:
(I hope HTML works here...)

Current Sound RTS web site address:
http://jlpo.free.fr/soundrts

Example 1:
www.soundrts.net.tc
(a "SmartDots.com" URL)
Example 2:
www.soundrts.fr.ms
(a "CyDots.com" address.)
Example 3:
www.soundrts.co.nr
(a "co.nr" address, note however has to be apprrooved first)
Besides having the domains being able to work with any web site provider's
URL, I was thinking of Ken Dalney when I had this idea. Which I wonder if he
could make that HTML TADS game that he had freeware. It was a nice game!
Back on topic here, as the URL is currently:
http://tbrn.net/modgirl/Ken's%20games
I was thinking his web site could be:
www.kensgames.us.ms
And for Cara's as well, since lots of people are having some confusion
finding her "Audio Quake" downloads, I was thinking of a web address like:
www.audioquake.net.ms

So certainly, this is my longest email ever, however its something to think
about. Who knows. More sighted people may close their eyes and acctually
play accesible games!
Here's the list of the 3 services one last time, just in case you wish to
sign up for any of them, and/or to learn more:
Smart Dots:
http://smartdots.com
Cy Dots:
http://cydots.com
Free URL's from Co.Nr:
www.co.nr
Take care everyone!
Sincrely,
Trenton

Re: [Audyssey] Jedi Quake: some progress, but...

2007-07-24 Thread Cara Quinn
   Awesome! good for you!

As for making a bot, do you mean bringing one into the game?...

To do that, you simply press the , key when in the game and a bot will come
in after you.To make him go away, press m and he will disappear...

Best of luck and have fun!...

Smiles,

Cara :)

Re: [Audyssey] Jedi Quake: some progress, but...

2007-07-24 Thread Cara Quinn
Hey Zack, glad you're making progress! As for the bots standing still,
alas, sorry, no, there is not currently a way to make them do that. They
just don't want to behave! Those blasted things! lol!

You can, however, look in the mod.cfg file in your JediQuake41 folder
and read it's comments...

You'll find settings that you can change to make them play a little nicer
with ya if you want.

You can, for instance, make there aim worse or better, cause them not to
use so many Star Wars weapons or force powers...

As for the sounds, try the manual at the moment; I'm not sure if the
sound test feature is available at the moment, and if it isn't, you can go
into your audio Quake folder, into your id1 folder, into your sounds
folder, and then simply audition them that way. Their names are self
explanatory for the most part...
For the JQ sounds, go into your JediQuake41 folder, into the sounds folder,
and then you will find other subfolders which contain similar
self-explanatory named wave files which you can then audition...

HTH and have an awesome day!!!...

Smiles,

Cara :)

Re: [Audyssey] assistance with sound rts

2007-07-24 Thread Robert Montowski
When I talked about diferent blind games being hosted..I was not clear.
what I meant to say what:
if some of these great games for blind folks were hosted on a mainstream web
site/download page...
they would be reviewed by sighted folks..printed in sighted magazines...get
more word of mouth going on in the sighted/visualy impaired communities.
Having a game for the blind hosted on a mainstream server/web page/download
page would mean it could be seen by
thousands if not hundreds of thousands of folks on a regular basis.

this is not a slam against any of the authors of these great games who host
them on their own web pages.
They do a great job of hosting their own software, but it takes h...what
is the word I wish to throw in here? advertising of the product to getit
rolling.

If I am wrong for suggesting this tell me so.
Robert

Re: [Audyssey] Montezuma's Revenge Patch 1 released.

2007-07-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Trenton,
I understand that. The point I tried to make is the game actually saves
at the beginning of a level, and not the end.
If I post the message at the end of a level after the score
announcements it would basically be saying something that wasn't true.

I don't get much credit for that--Bryan did the first three sound packs. I
