Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1

2007-11-15 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Nicol,

Mach 1 is my rendition of the Atari game Pole Position and no that is not
sapi5, it uses recorded Eloquence speech. Homer on a Harley will be a sapi5
game as will any future driving or racing games that I might create.

BTW Mach 1 can be found on my free windows self voicing games page. The file
name is wincar6c.zip.

I hope that I answered your question.

2007-11-15 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Claudio,

Thank you for the suggestion about being able to drive the truck in trucker.
To tell you the truth I have not yet figured out what kind of driving game I
might do if or when I figure out how to program for a joystick or steering
wheel. Maybe the trucker game, maybe a local pizza delivery game, maybe a
racing game, I just don't know yet. For now I am working on Homer on a Harley
Davidson motorcycle where you are
like Eval Knieval trying to jump over buses. And yes you do drive the
motorcycle with the control key as the throttle, the left and right arrow keys
to turn and the up and down arrow keys to shift.

  Hi all,
I cannot seem to find the drop down box for the factory options in the
game.
I was told one needs to hover the mouse cursor over factory to bring up
the drop down list, but I get no such drop down when hovering over that
link.
I am not used to doing this, is there a setting in jaws I might need to
change? I did some searching, and found you can hit control enter to bring
up mouse over options like this, but this technique is not working either.
Any help much appreciated, as need to test badly.

2007-11-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,
Obviously, allot can happen between now, and then but it is my sincere
hope to have it done by then. However, if it isn't completed by then it
isn't.
I learned one thing from Montezuma's Revenge it is difficult for me to
focus on any one project at a time. It is easy for me to reach burn out
status, and ever since I was young I was a multitasker. I liked doing
multiple projects at a time so no one single project burned me out.
For example, when I was in college I might be working on trig. I might
get frustrated with a problem so I would switch over to Psych, History,
or another subject and come back to the math in a little while with a
refreshed mind and renewed interest in solving the homework problem that
frustrated me earlier.
Same principle applies to games. I might be working on say the Raceway
physics mottling, get stuck on a difficult issue, and I can switch over
to my Genesis 3D engine which is being built to handle Tomb Raider and
other FPS games that will operate in a true 3D environment. After a
while the answer for Raceway might come to me when my mind is relaxed
and wham the problem is solved.

Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1

2007-11-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jim,

Quote
I might some day write a car driving or racing game to be part of the
WinKit, but
it would be different than Mach 1. Mach 1 uses TegoSoft rather than
DirectX and
of course recorded speech rather than the text to speech engine, so it
would probably
be easier to write it from scratch rather than trying to convert it all
over.
Quote

Yeah, a rewrite would probably be best in that case. I know when I got
the Raceway source from James North I felt it was better to rewrite the
game rather than work with his code because he and I had two completely
different views of how the game should be made. His game was going to be
similar to a Formula 1 type racing game with four cars on the track. I
felt the game should be more Nascar like since there is nothing like
that to date in the accessible gaming comunity with seasons, scoring,
and a large monty of cars on a track.
Though, I would really be looking forward to a new Mach 1 racing game.
There was a time when I use to really burn rubber in that game, and it
is still one of your best games in my opinion.

Cheers.

[Audyssey] best mud clients to use with speech?

2007-11-15 Thread Stephen
Hi there. I apologise for asking the same question that other people
have asked, but are you able to tell me which is the best mud client
to use with jaws/windoweyes etc?
Most of the mud clients I've tried do work, but they are several
years old and aren't being maintained any more, also with windows
vista users, they won't be able to use the help function in these old
applications because they have done away with the .hlp format and are
using the .chm format instead.
Thanks guys.

The best is mushclient: it's free, open source, and up to date. It has

Hi Tyler,
Well, i can't garentee Raceway will be the best racing game for the
blind, but I will endever to make it as good as it can be. There are
some features Raceway won't initially have such as an online racing
feature which is a selling point for games like Rail Racer.
However, the season mode, standings, player scoring, etc will offer a
completely different experience from Topspeed, Rail Racer, and Mach 1.

[Audyssey] raceway ideas

Understood. Just throwing ideas out there.

For cars ahead weaving. The car don't need to really weave just the sound
of it as though its weaveing. Leting you know that good time to do the same
to get tires warmed.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth suggestion Fw: chatting with creators -Wanting help

2007-11-15 Thread Mongwen
A lot of the newer weapons have special attacks, and if you're lucky, they
can be nasty. I've seen signatures on the sryth forum with weapons doing
better than a hundred points in damage. My experience, however, is that
they most often seem to do only a couple points of damage, when the enemy's
special attacks are nearly guaranteed to be 8, 10, 15, 20, or better. Also,
you're right that the special attacks in our weapons don't happen often,
especially when compared to the enemy's attack. The enemy's attack is
guaranteed to happen at least once during a fight. Our weapons never seem
to go off when actually needed.

Re: [Audyssey] F1Time - Building car parts

2007-11-15 Thread Che
  Hi Orin,
you need to go to testing in the factory drop down list.
For a list of links to all the drop down pages, look for my forum post in
the newbie section of the forums, a kind member of the game listed direct
links for all of them.
Make sure you read the rules and guide carefully about testing so you
don't waste your laps.
Regarding the Popomundo deal, the problem was not that you didn't pay me
back the money you owed, it was that you never bothered to thank me for
loaning you the money in the first place, asked for and received all kinds
of help from me, again without showing any gratitude, then instead of
letting me know what was going on, and that you wouldn't be able to pay me
back, you didn't let me know anything at all, much less apologize for being
unable to fulfill your obligation. All very rude and disrespectful.
This is not the way to make friends in the online gaming world dude, or in
the real world for that matter.
  Later,
  Che

Hi,
How in heavens name did you get over a hundred stamina and mr. I am just
approaching 50 each and I am stuck with getting much further. I need to

Though, I am still playing the free version, and perhaps that is the

Well let's see. I remember there was an audio trainer for the savage
gambit
boxing game, which allowed you to practice punches.

I am wondering if you aren't mixing up the word trainer with trailer, as
in
audio game trailer, such as the race way trailer released. If so, then
a
trailer is like a commercial, or sneak peak at things to come.

If you didn't mean any of those things, then I am completely lost.
