Re: [Audyssey] New games from Blind Adrenaline release notice

2009-06-01 Thread Che

 Hi guys,
Was hoping to release the games live today, but a final adjustment I have
to make is taking longer than anticipated.

Hope to have them out late tonight or tomorrow.
I'll update list when they are available.
 Later,

Will,

The only thing I can really say is check them out for yourself. I
personally

appreciate that Che's two offerings so far are based more on strategy and
skill than luck, but I think it all comes down to what you're looking for.

I do think it's worth pointing out, however, that Che's games are going to
be available for only $3.95 per month.

Does the game interface for both games consist of numberpad use only
or can those on laptops play?
If I like these I may not renew my all in play membership

Will,

We hope to have at least one other title out before the end of the year,
but no promises. We're trying to lay the foundation for more frequent
releases by developing robust frameworks, engines, and automated much of
the manual labor that is involved in the development and maintenance of
Draconis Entertainment. It's been a long, long road, and we've been
working on other projects as well besides strictly games...but we do hope
to release them more frequently soon.

Greetings gamers,

This note is a quick sneak peek at a few items that will be announced
officially on the Draconis web site soon.

While news has been slow in coming, we're still working hard to deliver
new games for both Mac and Windows. We're sorry it is taking so long.

We've not been idle here. In addition to the future titles, Draconis
has decided to change things just a little bit. Here are some
particular items of note.

1. We don't want to do a development blog, like many have suggested.
For one thing, it reveals too much of what we're working on, something
that we have a longstanding policy of not doing. But we do understand
how nice it would be for gamers to know how things are progressing. To
that end, we've decided that we will keep gamers informed on the
day-to-day happenings at Draconis to some extent. Don't expect the top
secret details, but do expect to have a better idea of what is being
worked on. Draconis has opened a Twitter profile and account that
gamers can follow to find out a little about what's happening behind
the scenes at Draconis. Follow us, and see our Twitter page at
http://twitter.com/DracoEnt

2. We are currently building an automated key generation system. This
means that, when you purchase our games, you will receive your
registration for the game immediately. No more human processing will be
required. The new system will be employed for all existing and future
titles. This will dramatically change how we do things, as we'll be
able to spend far more time on development, and less time on processing
orders.

3. We've expanded our offerings to include music. We're proud to bring
you a new band called Stage 19. Consisting of two blind musicians,
Molly McClenahan and Josh de Lioncourt, Stage 19 is celebrating its
first release. It's an EP entitled "Opening Act", and is available on
iTunes, Amazon MP3, and other digital music shops under the Draconis
Entertainment label. Incidentally, one of the tracks on the EP is the
instrumental piece that serves as part of the Draconis audio logo. The
band site is http://stage19music.com

4. We have two developers working on the new titles. Silver Dollar is
nearing completion and will be a free offering for both Mac and Windows
users.

Thanks for your continued support. The best years are still ahead of
us. In the end, it'll be worth the wait. Thanks for sticking with us.

Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1 tts

2009-06-01 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Kevin,

Yes, in the first turn of the Chesterland track you want to go at about 25 MPH,
The second turn about 75 MPH. And then again as I said you need to be between
100 and 125 MPH for the jump over the swimming hole. Then the last turn back
into the front straightaway is one of those that gets sharper in the middle of
the turn so you can go in fast, but have to slow and then can accelerate back
out of it.

I crashed once in the first turn while showing it to a friend and he thought that I
ran over the cat.

Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1 tts

2009-06-01 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Tim,

I paid $100.00 for my Logitech MOMO Racing steering wheel. I bought it from
the Microcenter store in Mayfield Ohio. There is a microcenter.com site and I
think 21 stores.

The steering wheel is a large unit. It's main base is as wide as a keyboard
and as deep, but of course much taller. It has three clamps to hold it down on
a keyboard tray. It plugs into the USB and a wall outlet for power. The
steering wheel is a really nice rubber grip covered steering wheel. There is
two fins behind the wheel that you can easily pull with your finger tips with
your hands on the wheel. There are 6 buttons on the hub of the wheel and then
there is a gear shift knob just to the right of the wheel. Then there is a non
skid base that sits on the floor and has the gas and brake peddles.

So far I have played Top Speed, Pong, Puppy1 and Mach 1 with it. Puppy 1 was a
bit strange though. Pretty sure that Rail Racer also has joystick support.

[Audyssey] Mach 1 tts

2009-06-01 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Kevin,

I ran 10 laps on the Chardon Hill Top track twice. The first time with the
keyboard and the second time with my steering wheel. However I crashed once on
the final lap with the keyboard, otherwise there would not be as much of a
difference. I also am pretty sure that I can get an even better time if I run
it a few more times.

Will,

The only thing I can really say is check them out for yourself. I personally
appreciate that Che's two offerings so far are based more on strategy and
skill than luck, but I think it all comes down to what you're looking for.

I do think it's worth pointing out, however, that Che's games are going to
be available for only $3.95 per month.

The two things that eventually put me off the game were the amount
of time I had to spend hauling and trading before I could get the
equipment to do anything even vaguely interesting (even asteroid

The first time I set my ship off towards pluto, I felt quite a

I understand your skepticism, I'm not usually a space fan myself.
But ashes of angels had too much in the way of realtime stuff for
me. This game doesn't even really seem to have a turn limit. And
there's quite a bit of detail from what I can see, every location
has some history behind it, the shops and such all have different
text descriptions, even the weapons are pretty well described. And
there's a lot to explore. As I said though I don't know how long
this'll hold my interest. It seems rather interesting though.

Sounding rather like ashes of angels used to be before it went

I like the idea of more npc missions etc, as well as the basic
rtrading and what not.

My only question is exactly how much of the game is real
exploration, ie, reading interesting text about your location or
mission or whatever, and how much devolves into basic number
crunching.

the only method I suppose is to look and see.

figured I'd toss this out there for all those interested in
space exploration. I'm not sure how long it'll keep me
interested, but I'm sure plenty of people on here will find it
entertaining at least. Pasted directly from the main page.

What is Core Exiles?
Core Exiles is a PBBG based Epic Space game. We are still in a
BETA phase at the moment but are always looking for new player /
testers. You play the part of the Captain of a small vessel cast
out into the Galaxy to make your fame and fortune. Unlike many
browser based games CE is a persistent game and therefore does
not reset every few months.

Currently Core Exiles contains 5 Galaxies, 160 System, 690
Planets and Starbases and over 1,960 in game items. Many of
these items can be crafted in game or you can choose to buy them
from fellow players or in game NPC run stores.

What can I do in Core Exiles?
Well there's plenty to do don't worry about that. From being a
Hauler and running trade Missions for the smaller or larger
haulage companies in the game, whether that be to a local system
or the far side of the next Galaxy!

Why not move Passengers? With over 15,000 passengers in the CE
Galaxy all wanting to go somewhere you'll never be short of
finding a customer for your cabins.

Try your hand at being a true Privateer and fit shields,
scanners and a weapon or two of your choice. Try out your hand
at combat and see if you have what it takes. With over 1,900
ship types to attack and Pirates from here to the distant
Galaxies you'll never be left stranded for something to shoot at.

Don't forget the loot! With over 300 various items that can be
looted from your combat victories you'll be pondering over what
cargo expander to purchase next!

But combats not all that makes a game. There is also a very
strong Crafting side to Core Exiles. There are now well over 300
Schematics enabling you with the right skills, resources and
determination to build a wide range of the items in game.

Of course Crafters need resources; Did we mention that Core
Exiles enables you to collect, mine and refine a multitude of
resources. You can mine from asteroid fields or deploy Planetary
Extractors to build up a wealth in resources.

Pluss, the galaxy is and system map is entirely graphical. This

Re: [Audyssey] Mach 1 tts

2009-06-01 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Tim,

I did design Mach 1 tts for my Logitech MOMO Racing steering wheel and then
added keyboard support later, so some of the tracks may be pretty hard to drive
via keyboard, but I have done them all, even the Chesterland track. Which I
was afraid would be impossible with the keyboard.

I had put mp3 files of me driving the Chardon, Geneva and Painsville tracks up
on send space. If you like, I could put them up there again or another track
if you like. The Geneva, Maple Leaf and Painsville are probebly the easiest
tracks.

figured I'd toss this out there for all those interested in space
exploration. I'm not sure how long it'll keep me interested, but I'm sure
plenty of people on here will find it entertaining at least. Pasted
directly from the main page.

What is Core Exiles?
Core Exiles is a PBBG based Epic Space game. We are still in a BETA phase
at the moment but are always looking for new player / testers. You play the
part of the Captain of a small vessel cast out into the Galaxy to make your
fame and fortune. Unlike many browser based games CE is a persistent game
and therefore does not reset every few months.

Currently Core Exiles contains 5 Galaxies, 160 System, 690 Planets and
Starbases and over 1,960 in game items. Many of these items can be crafted
in game or you can choose to buy them from fellow players or in game NPC
run stores.

What can I do in Core Exiles?
Well there's plenty to do don't worry about that. From being a Hauler and
running trade Missions for the smaller or larger haulage companies in the
game, whether that be to a local system or the far side of the next Galaxy!

Why not move Passengers? With over 15,000 passengers in the CE Galaxy all
wanting to go somewhere you'll never be short of finding a customer for
your cabins.

Try your hand at being a true Privateer and fit shields, scanners and a
weapon or two of your choice. Try out your hand at combat and see if you
have what it takes. With over 1,900 ship types to attack and Pirates from
here to the distant Galaxies you'll never be left stranded for something to
shoot at.

Don't forget the loot! With over 300 various items that can be looted from
your combat victories you'll be pondering over what cargo expander to
purchase next!

But combats not all that makes a game. There is also a very strong Crafting
side to Core Exiles. There are now well over 300 Schematics enabling you
with the right skills, resources and determination to build a wide range of
the items in game.

Of course Crafters need resources; Did we mention that Core Exiles enables
you to collect, mine and refine a multitude of resources. You can mine from
asteroid fields or deploy Planetary Ext

2009-06-01 Thread shaun everiss
Hi.
hmm started in my first trade mission.
the game is reasonable in accessibility.
Actually enjoyed myself.
The galaxy map although I was able to locate a system had no accept button to
do so, saying that they did say on the site its graphic.
This means that the map just isn't a tool for us.
Moving round the systems and checking where gates go to and remembering the
planet/system is however.
Numbers for some things are decieving, probably because jaws lists everything
in one major list.
Unlike the muds and such though I am not being interupted by chat messages and
other things.
I do wish though that all the list boxes on the main page would not execute
automatically though.
I would also wish that all the status stuff be put in a seperate link or
something because right now I need to wade through it.
Out the box its quite good.
though you really need to be in the right place otherwise jaws decides to get
sluggish, just be at the top of the window.
there are small things that could be improved, like tabs to things etc.
they said this is for firefox though.
Still works in ie6 though.
I may still contact them about this to, not sure if its possible to have a text
only no graphics version of the game, I do like how things appear in different
windows though.
some numbers and such could be put differently so you could tab to the right
list.
but all in all its actually quite cool.

Well, I have been looking for a space game, though primarily an
exploration space game more than the old trading options, so I''ll look it
over and see what I think.

I didn't particularly mind the real time options in ashes of angels, sinse I
could set my ship flying in the morning, go off, do some work or whatever,
and look in on my ship when it had arrived. The two things that eventually
put me off the game were the amount of time I had to spend hauling and
trading before I could get the equipment to do anything even vaguely
interesting (even asteroid mining), and the fact that all the locations felt
the same.

The first time I set my ship off towards pluto, I felt quite a thrill,
then I got there and found pluto was nothing more than a list of
numbers, - how interesting!

Ryan is right, you can play against the monkies with hearts, but right now
there are no plans for bots for hold em.
The hearts monkies aren't great players, but they will surprise you every
now and then, had two of them beat two human players on the same table the
other day, both excellent hearts players, and they've even shot themoon a
couple times, which they aren't really programmed to do directly.

 Later,
Che

Hi Marsha,

I know you can play with monkeys on the hearts tables. They're really
quite

smart and talented, all things considered. However, I'm pretty sure you
won't have bots on the holdem tables. May be wrong, though.

Hi
Will there be bots for those who don't have a table? I am looking
forward

to this.

Marsha

Will,

You can play on a laptop. I do it pretty frequently. Che has also

his trademark one-hand configuration if that's your thing.
