Hi all.
this is my go through with sod.
Usually I am better than I am with this but I didn't do to badly.
I managed to keep my amo count for most of the game.
I mannaged to die at least 3 times.
then I managed to get lost, loose a monster or 2 and some other things.

[Audyssey] Troopanum 2 playthrough

2010-09-24 Thread peter Mahach
This is something I did today as i was bored. Lately I've been replaying audio
games. this is my rather sucky game of troop2, which i've somehow managed to
cmplete. I have recorded this on a win xp machine with 2gb of ram and we 7.2 in
the background and studio recorder 3.7, with a ds50 hooked up for voice and an
audio repeater to pipe that into stereo mix for both game audio and my voice,
so, to get less geeky, it's a simple setup and it works. smile.
After I play the game, I also do a speed round, which kind of fails.

Lol you still had Jaws running. I always found that game tricky, especially
as a lot of the sounds are quite similar and if more than one happens and
you're right in the middle of shooting it's really easy to miss one or the

2010-09-24 Thread peter Mahach

HI
ON YOUR DS, GO TO SETTINGS, THEN FIND THE USB SETTING, AND CHANGE IT TO
AUDIO CLASS. WHEN YOU HOOK IT UP IT WILL SHOW UP AS BOTH A RECORDING DEVICE
microphone control and as a speaker. like a USB mic. there is an app
called virtual audio cable that comes with an audio repeater. when you start
that, chose the ds50 mic as the input and your main card as output, press
space on start. you will hear your self through your headphones, now just
record through your stereo mix and it should work.

Re: [Audyssey] shades of doom

2010-09-24 Thread shaun everiss

all depends on what I need to fire.
My weapon of choice in most cases is the semi because of its slightly
increased range.

then again the manual is good for one shot targets.
the flamer is good for multipul enemies and for inflicting fatel
blows as long as things are in position. however this is a slow weapon.
The chainsaw is good the speed and the one shot kills are good for
quick and close combat but you need to get close like the knife and fists.
The biodesrupter is real good at long range sniper shooting and for
destroying gun emplacements.
the laser is good for shooting time monsters and robots since you can
destroy with much less amo.
The mine is ok but I have never been able to set it right where I can
get monsters to walk into them.

THe grenade is good though.
if you can get more than one monster in range you can destroy them
injur them or hammer them.
they work with time monsters and such also bosses but are also good
for the long range multishots.
If I had to have a favorite weapon it would be a toss up between the
laser and the grenades.
I think they all have their uses except the mine but I don't even use
mines in gtc so maybe I am not cut out to plant and run.

2010-09-24 Thread shaun everiss
I have done a troop go round you never win the speed round I can do
it to quite a fast speed, but eventually you die.
I won't put up my troop playthrough as there are already to many on
the net as it is.

anyway my stratogy is a bit boring.
it involves me getting the right item and then getting under a lifter
and then shooting it and basically cheating loads.
if not I go through the issue of trying to shoot down things and
really if you get it going there is no real challenge except with the
gorbian and I have never got round that that well with out a lot of
casualties and big swearing shoutings around the room I have never
really bothered with arcade that much.

I'd probably suck compared to most people I haven't even hit insane.
The only reason I only hit sod level3 is because there are more monsters.
level4 has them running away and such though just for fun I may set a
challenge for myself where I use my fists in easy level.

This is something I did today as i was bored. Lately I've been replaying
audio games. this is my rather sucky game of troop2, which i've somehow
managed to cmplete. I have recorded this on a win xp machine with 2gb of ram
and we 7.2 in the background and studio recorder 3.7, with a ds50 hooked up
for voice and an audio repeater to pipe that into stereo mix for both game
audio and my voice, so, to get less geeky, it's a simple setup and it works.

After I play the game, I also do a speed round, which kind of fails.

Hi,
Lol! I know. I admit to laughing when your shift key fell off in the
middle of the game. Plus during a few intense moments where you let
fly a few four letter sware words. Sorry, but it was pretty funny.
Grin.

Re: [Audyssey] Troopanum 2 playthrough

2010-09-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Petr,
Well, that happenes sometimes. Although, I had to rerun the recording
again just to hear it, and still got a few chuckles out of it. The one
I find funny is the first time you died and you said, what the f***?
It isn't what you said but the way you said it that made it funny. No,
make that priceless. I laughed both the first time and second time I
heard it. So I'm sort of glad you didn't edit it. Everyone needs a
few cheap thrills once and a while.

Cheers!
