Hello Thomas,

prayers. This is turning out to be a tragic christmas season. My best

a stroke, and her organs are now all shutting down. I wish you and all

Subject: [Audyssey] Some Extremely Sad News

Dear list,

I regret to inform you that there has been a very very tragic death in
my family this weekend. Last night my mom called me and told me that
my oldest step sister died under extremely tragic circomstances. At
this point in time the police are ruling it out is a suicide. To say
that this comes as a shocking suprise for the family and is very sad
is an understatement.

Although, my step sister and I were never close I still feel sad and
extremely disappointed in how she chose to end her life. I feel
extremely sorry for my neace who will be cellibrating this and every
other Christmas without her mother. I also feel deeply sorry for my
step father who lost a daughter, and my surviving step sisters who
lost one of their sisters. For them Christmas will never ever be the
same. For those of you who have faith in a religious background please
pray for them in this time of morning and grief. Also pray for my step
sister that perhaps she can find happiness in death that she never
could in this life time. Moreover, never forget to tell your closest
ffriends, family, and other loved ones that you love them. Remember
that there is nothing more precious than life, and that no matter how
bad life gets at times that taking your own life without a good cause
is the greatest tragity of all.

Finally, I wish to leave you with something that I learned from this
experience. Remember to forgive those who have wronged you, and try to
make, if possible, peace with everyone that you can. Especially, those
who are your family and friends. Nothing is more tragic than what
happened in my sisters' case.

I'm not going to get into details and specifics, but one thing I can
say is that my oldest sister was troubled. In her death she left
behind a lot of unsettled arguments with my step father, my younger
step sisters, her grandparents, and things were said in the heat of
the moment to each other that can never be taken back or settled in
this life time. My youngest step sister, for example, vowed never to
see my oldest step sister again in this life time, and now, of course,
she never will. My youngest step sister has to live with the guilt of
allowing her personal feelings get in the way of making peace with her
sister when she could have. Moreover, she now realises she wasn't
there for her sister when she went over the emotional brink and took
her own life when she needed her family, her loved ones, more than
ever.

So the lesson I want to pass on to each and every single one of you is
don't let your anger, your personal differences, etc go so far that
you have to live each and every day of your life regretting the things
you have said and done. Make your peace while you have time, and tell
those you love that you love them. Let them know you care regardless
of how angry you might be at them. You will never know when tomorrow
is simply too late to say, I'm sorry. I love you.

Re: [Audyssey] Registration features of BGT

2010-12-20 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Valiant,

I can think of a number of problems with your registration system. For
one thing the way you describe the system it sounds as though you are
thinking about one single product. What about if the company has
dozens of products and services? Does your account work with only one
product or several products?

That's where your system breaks down. Creating a single account on a
per product basis wouldn't be fesable. Therefore you would have to
create an account, and use it with anything from one to a hundred
products equally. So we still need some kind of security like a name
and key licensing method that gets registered by your account every
time you activate and deactivate a key with a limit of keys.

The second issue that comes to mind is that e-mail addresses, credit
cards, and phone numbers will eventually become out of date. What
assurance do you have that this information will be regularly updated
and the information you have on the server is correct?

To give you an example of what I mean you said that a confirmation
e-mail should be sent everytime you register the product. What if the
person recently changed their e-mail address from say hotmail.com to
gmail.com and haven't updated their account?

In a case like that the confirmation e-mail would go to the wrong
e-mail address, and they'd have to update their account before
registering the product or service. To say nothing of the fact that
some spam filters etc may actually delete the confirmation e-mail in
the first place causing important e-mails like this not to get to the
intended customer at all. This kind of problem can quickly become a
headache for developer and customer unnecessarily.

Finally, you said the program would always quietly attemptt to connect
to the server. This assumes a full time internet connection such as
cable or DSL connection. What about people like myself that often use
laptops on the road etc. I certainly don't have a 24/7 internet
connection, but have a wireless cable connection in my apartment. Am I
not to play game x when I'm on the road with my laptop, and only play
it when I'm at home with my wireless connection?

You see, internet based auth systems are always problematic. No matter
how you think they will work for everybody they really don't. Not
everybody has a full time internet connection or even access to the
internet at all which would prevent them from registering your
product.

For example, I have a few family members that are going through some
hard times financially. One of the things they decided to cut out of
their budget is internet access. The only time I hear from them via
the internet is if they go to the library or something and access
their gmail accounts online. While this may or may not happen to one
or more of your customers it is still something you need to consider.
Just because they purchased a product from your website doesn't
automatically mean it came from their personal PC. It could have been
ordered from a friends house, the public library, from his/her work
place, or some other public access point. We should never get in the
habbit of thinking that the person has regular internet access,
because there are doubtless cases where it is not the case. Yet, these
internet activation systems always assume just that, and will become
problematic for a few customers in the long run.

Cheers!

Hi Luke,

Thanks very much for saying that. I know Muhammed is young and perhaps
doesn't know any better, but these kinds of questions are simply
inapropriate when a family is going through any kind of tragity or

doesn't mean they want everything to be made public. There is
somethings meant to stay private and remain with the family. Probing
for more information can be both painful and rude.

Re: [Audyssey] Some Extremely Sad News

2010-12-20 Thread Ben
Hello Tom,
I know it isn't the same for me, but I feel so empathetic that you wouldn't
know. I sort of follow a religion, but I won't go into details - it isn't
really a religion, more of a calling.

Regardless, I agree with every single word you placed in that mewssage.
Don't tell what you don't wish to tell, but make your life as good as it can
get: and with this tragic loss, just remember this. If you had any good
times at all, in the words of avenged sevenfold: some pictures and some
memories will have to help me through. I hope this is the case, and you can
live in peace and harmony with your family, friends and fellow man.

I would like to leave you with a prayer that we always recite on founders
day, where we remember those who perished in the 2 world wars:
Go forth into the world in peace
be of good courage
hold fast to that which is good
render to no man evil for evil
strengthen the fainthearted
support the weak
help the afflicted
honour everyone
love and serve the Lord,
Amen
I may not be Christian, but the point still stands.

I am saddened by the fact that she took her own life; people have moments of
rage and emotional torment, we all know that. But I'm also saddened to
realize that if it was a suicide, she wasn't helped or didn't ask for it.
In light of what has happened, I just hope that this won't cloud the spirit
and festivities of Christmas, and that you will remember her fondly in the
hearts of you, your family and those who knew her.

As a lesson to all, I wish to harken back to what you said earlier about not
making vowes that could become literal. I have done such things before then
broken them in realization as to the fact that they may come true, as in the
case of your youngest step sister. Just don't repeat the actions, anyone,
that proved to be very shocking and guilt-spreading. When your down, just
ask for help from anyone whom you trust. Don't reside in your hole of
depression, but come out and see the light of love and a new dawn.

I wish to express my most sincere condolences at this time of sadness, but
know this. You'll pull through, and emerge from the darkness with new hopes
and ambitions.

Tom, I'm here for you every step of the way. Whenever you need help, I'll
give it.

I leave you with the knowledge that I know how it feels to lose a loved one
- I lost my granddad 2 years ago and I was saddened - even though we weren't
close, but I came out a better man. I hope you can do the same too.

Regards,
Ben.

my family this weekend.

Let them know you care

My sympathies are with you and your family. I will keep you all in my

Hi there.
I am so sorry for your loss.
In august a really good friend of 7 years was murdered in his own home in
a very well-to-do area of Melbourne Australia, we first met on a chat
room, he had a barber's shop, and I'd go and get my hair cut there. Let
me share a story with you.
While not directly game related, I was in a chat room and I was talking 1
on 1 with some guy about something I don't remember what. When I told him
about how I am totally blind he asked if I was serious and I said Yes.
The next thing I knew he starts calling me every nasty name under the sun
he can think of. Go away you blind retard, you pathetic freak, Hey guys,
this blind (expletive) wants to talk to me.

Well, I think you get the idea.
Then his friend joined in the attack.
Peter saw what was happening and quickly put an end to it.
The only reason those 2 people stopped attacking me was because they were
one of the many people who visited Peter's shop, a lot of people looked up
to him, and he had a very strong sence of right and wrong and if he saw
someone getting ganged up on, he'd speak out about it and They did not
want to end up in Peter's bad books. It always seems that the bad things
happen to good people as it did with Peter, we shared many good times
together and I will always remember what a decent person he was.

Hi Luke,

Thanks very much for saying that. I know Muhammed is young and perhaps
doesn't know any better, but these kinds of questions are simply
inapropriate when a family is going through any kind of tragity or
hard times. Even though they may make a tragity public, as I did, that
doesn't mean they want everything to be made public. There is
somethings meant to stay private and remain with the family. Probing
for more information can be both painful and rude.

On 12/20/10, dark d...@xgam.org wrote:

Muhammed, when something along these lines seems to happen, it is rather
insensative, not to say slightly rude to ask those sorts of bald

he

die at the scene or later on? etc, etc.

You'd get pretty irritated at me, and wouldn't really want to answer all
those remes of questions.

While I'm sure your intentions are good, please remember that when
someone
has lost a family member or gone through any tragic circumstance, the

Just a note about your thoughts and sympathy is usually all that is

I hope this explains things.

Unfortunately, that really isn't an easy thing to do in a brouser based

the only way to do it reliably would be to make the game flash, and that

be drawn out and some of you have not only ignored this request but also
started bashing each other over someone's messages. if you have anything
further to say to Thomas and what has happened, please write him off
list. Now, let's get back to discussion of game related topics.

Many thanks.

[Audyssey] my thoughts on Papa Sangre so far

2010-12-20 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi all. I was unable to sleep this morning and have been up since 3 AM.
So to use up some time, I purchased this game and installed it on my
iPhone 3GS. So far, I'm not too impressed considering the price and
considering the ease of play. I am at level 6 or 7, which ever the level
is after the quick sand and so far have died zero times. Keep in mind
I've only played this game once so far and have yet to be touched by
enemies or die. I would have hoped that this game would have been more
challenging for $6.99. I have played aurify which was $1.99 and it has
presented far more challenges. I'm hoping that the rest of this game
gets a bit more challenging as I progress. Don't get me wrong, I think
the music and sound and work put into creating this game is great, but
it seems to me that the level of difficulty is geared more toward a 10
year old. In fact, I may get my 5 year old to play it and see if he can
pass it, which I suspect he will. On a side note, after tomorrow I will
no longer have a 5 year old since he's turning 6.

That's all for now.

Hi Raul do you have a cover for your Iphone? I'm using an ipod touch and as
I know they both feel alike I know they can be very slippy in your hand and
am always droping mine when playing games. I am finding though that the
game crashs on my ipod, in the first level when I try to walk, it just
closes completely and I've to turn voice-over back on to find out where I
am. I have the 32 gig latest ipod and versions of Itunes so there's no
excuse for it not working. Do you have walkthroughs of Aurifi or Papas

Hey guys,

I have a new post on my company's blog on how the blind see the world is at

It's probably redundant information for most of the people on this list but

P.S. I'm gearing up to play Papa Sangre. Seems like a lot of people here are
excited about it.

Hi, this works. Additionally, I use a program called XSysInfo which
gives you useful information about your iOS device memory usage and
processes. However what I really like is that it has a feature where it
clears out unused memory. I would sometimes notice that my texting would
get rather slow in the keyboard and clearing out the app switcher
wouldn't help. Only a reboot would. However this app fixes the issues
like that.

[Audyssey] dice program for synbian devices?

2010-12-20 Thread NIcol
HI list
I am looking for a program similar to g m A dice, that will work on the
nokia e66 phone which is a synbian device.
The reason for asking: I have a physical snakes and ladders board game, with
patterns of snakes and ladders carved on the board.
So I use g m A dice instead of a physical dice because I often accidentally
bump the dice off the table.
When I am away from home and I have my snakes and ladders board game, a dice
program for synbian devices will come in very handy.
Any help is much appreciated.
Happy gaming.

Have you considered larger physical dice that are less likely to be flipped
when examined? They're not all that expensive, and you should be able to
get them from places like

www.independentlivingaids.com

if I got that URL correct. It should be Independent Living Aids. HTH.

Hi no, XSysInfo is not a jailbreak app. Just look it up in the iTunes

Hi Raul do you have a cover for your Iphone? I'm using an ipod touch and

game crashs on my ipod, in the first level when I try to walk, it just
closes completely and I've to turn voice-over back on to find out where I

excuse for it not working. Do you have walkthroughs of Aurifi or Papas

Hi there.
I am so sorry for your loss.
In august a really good friend of 7 years was murdered in his own
home in a very well-to-do area of Melbourne Australia, we first met
on a chat room, he had a barber's shop, and I'd go and get my hair
cut there. Let me share a story with you.
While not directly game related, I was in a chat room and I was
talking 1 on 1 with some guy about something I don't remember
what. When I told him about how I am totally blind he asked if I
was serious and I said Yes.
The next thing I knew he starts calling me every nasty name under
the sun he can think of. Go away you blind retard, you pathetic
freak, Hey guys, this blind (expletive) wants to talk to me.

Well, I think you get the idea.
Then his friend joined in the attack.
Peter saw what was happening and quickly put an end to it.
The only reason those 2 people stopped attacking me was because
they were one of the many people who visited Peter's shop, a lot of
people looked up to him, and he had a very strong sence of right
and wrong and if he saw someone getting ganged up on, he'd speak
out about it and They did not want to end up in Peter's bad
books. It always seems that the bad things happen to good people
as it did with Peter, we shared many good times together and I will
always remember what a decent person he was.

2010-12-20 Thread Josh Kennedy

Hi

here's a better way. in edition to a username and key and all the stuff
you provide. how about requiring a voice print? you speak a sentence or
your name and a computer compares that to your real voice.
No better yet. how about registration through DNA. when you want to
register every computer comes with its own blood collection system. it
analyses your DNA, blood type and stuff and registers the game based on
that information. To make sure you also have to provide voice print,
fingerprint scanner and also retina scan using your webcam then finally
you can play the game or use the product.

Hello Tom, my deepest condolences to you and your family at this very
difficult time. There is no good way to lose someone for sure, but this way

My family has had a difficult loss this last year as well although not of

Subject: [Audyssey] Some Extremely Sad News

Dear list,

I regret to inform you that there has been a very very tragic death in my
family this weekend. Last night my mom called me and told me that my oldest
step sister died under extremely tragic circomstances. At this point in time
the police are ruling it out is a suicide. To say that this comes as a
shocking suprise for the family and is very sad is an understatement.

Although, my step sister and I were never close I still feel sad and
extremely disappointed in how she chose to end her life. I feel extremely
sorry for my neace who will be cellibrating this and every other Christmas
without her mother. I also feel deeply sorry for my step father who lost a
daughter, and my surviving step sisters who lost one of their sisters. For
them Christmas will never ever be the same. For those of you who have faith
in a religious background please pray for them in this time of morning and
grief. Also pray for my step sister that perhaps she can find happiness in
death that she never could in this life time. Moreover, never forget to tell
your closest ffriends, family, and other loved ones that you love them.
Remember that there is nothing more precious than life, and that no matter
how bad life gets at times that taking your own life without a good cause is
the greatest tragity of all.

Finally, I wish to leave you with something that I learned from this
experience. Remember to forgive those who have wronged you, and try to make,
if possible, peace with everyone that you can. Especially, those who are
your family and friends. Nothing is more tragic than what happened in my
sisters' case.

I'm not going to get into details and specifics, but one thing I can say is
that my oldest sister was troubled. In her death she left behind a lot of
unsettled arguments with my step father, my younger step sisters, her
grandparents, and things were said in the heat of the moment to each other
that can never be taken back or settled in this life time. My youngest step
sister, for example, vowed never to see my oldest step sister again in this
life time, and now, of course, she never will. My youngest step sister has
to live with the guilt of allowing her personal feelings get in the way of
making peace with her sister when she could have. Moreover, she now realises
she wasn't there for her sister when she went over the emotional brink and
took her own life when she needed her family, her loved ones, more than
ever.

So the lesson I want to pass on to each and every single one of you is don't
let your anger, your personal differences, etc go so far that you have to
live each and every day of your life regretting the things you have said and
done. Make your peace while you have time, and tell those you love that you
love them. Let them know you care regardless of how angry you might be at
them. You will never know when tomorrow is simply too late to say, I'm
sorry. I love you.

and allows you to play Monopoly and Uno. To mark the anniversary of
the first release, we are adding a third game to our
selection--Yahtzee. RS Games Yahtzee is an accessible, online,
multiplayer version of the classic dice game. Like our other games, it
is played on the RS Game server and features high quality sound
effects, the ability to chat with your friends, and much more.

You do not have to download anything new to play Yahtzee, although we
released an update patch last night and you should download it (from
www.rsgames.co.nr) if you haven't already. Simply login to your RS
Games account and choose Yahtzee from the games menu. Thanks go out to
our beta testers for testing the game and helping us to find and fix
bugs. We hope you enjoy Yahtzee, and happy holidays from RS Games!

Thanks.
