[Audyssey] Castaways: 2.1 idle workers tweak.
First of all, I love the concept behind listing the idle workers. Could you pull out the ailing and mothers from the number though as it's confusing to see two idle workers but not find the idle category because they're both mothers. I think we know that mothers and ailing are idle. Trying my first hard mode game and man, 10 is hard to start out with. Those extra two workers make a much bigger difference than you'd think. Re: [Audyssey] chess quest in alterean
Hi. Michael had it right at least first, the command is open then the coordinates you want the piece to move to, at least to my recollection it is. Sent with Thunderbird 3.1.13 portable. This is just the sort of thing I hate in if games, where it's clear what you have to do, but the stupid commands in the game won't let you do it, and I'm reasonably confident if I can actually just work out how to move the bloody pieces I can solve the chess puzzle. so if anyone's done it, some advice would be appreciated. Thanks. It is a cool game to waste the time away with. Even though it has no sound effects. At least it is blind friendly. I got as far as roughly 650 to 700 miles out of the 2,040 mile long trip. Re: [Audyssey] WWE Superslam
Hi Mike, No, not yet. There is still a lot of work to be done. For one thing I still need to finish adding WWE superstars to the database. At the moment I've only added about 14 Diva's to the female roster, and haven't even started adding male superstar's like Jon Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, etc to the male database. Which obviously needs to be done before any kind of public release. Another thing that needs to be done is to add finishing moves like the RKO, Attitude Adjustment, GTS, etc to the game. That way each superstar will be able to perform his or her finisher before attempting to pin the opponent. At the moment the game is restricted to general moves which is ok, but it is much more fun if you are playing say Randy Orton and can pull off an RKO for a quick stun and pin. As it happened Beth was stunned long enough to go for a victory roll and pin her to the mat for a full three count. Now, one thing I'd like to do here is work on the general AI system to play to an opponent's strengths. That is if a wrestler is good in a skill set to tend to favor those moves over other less skilled moves. For instance, Beth Phoenix is a strong female wrestler and tends to favor powerhouse moves such as powerbombs, various bodyslams, and suplexes. In fact, her finisher is the Glam Slam which is basically just a press slam. Now, someone like Kelly Kelly is small and light. She's almost 50 pounds lighter than Beth Phoenix, and she usually does well with hit and runn attacks such as small punches, spin kicks, missile dropkicks, etc. Also her small size and stature makes her more naturally built for arial type moves like flying crossbody attacks, springboard moonsaults, etc. You have to play to a performers strengths if you want to win a match. Hi Alfredo. Glad you got through those levels. instructions for level 4 can be found in the instructions section of the main menue, including what the keys do, but basically your skeeing down a mountain. Left and right to steer, left ctrl to speed up, shift to snow plow (though myself I keep my finger on left control all the time). Just slaalum left and right avoiding the trees with the birds in them, and you should get to the bottom. Hth. Beware the grue! Re: [Audyssey] Awesome HOmer: level 4 difficulty and hints?
Hi the level works like this. You are skeeing down a mountain. You have to pass the hawk and the dove. The hawk is on the left and the dove is on the right. Hold down control and press the left arrow key until you hear the hawk stop and when you hear the second one hit the right arrow key. You are going to keep doing that until the level ends. Keep the control key held down and the shift key will slow you down with a snow plow. - Original Message - From: "Alfredo_The_Music_maker" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, September 05, 2011 6:45 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Awesome HOmer: level 4 difficulty and hints? Re: [Audyssey] Castaways: thoughts on winning mission 3 on normal.
The merchant cart is actually a way to throw balance out of the window, yes. Once someone jumps in to multiplayer co-op mode, there is little sense even trying to keep things balanced and fair simply because there is no way to stop someone from getting an unfair advantage if that is their goal. For example you could have a person could save their game, send everything they own to you, and then load their saved game so they didn't end up losing anything but you gained so much. Because of the way the co-op works, I'm reluctant to even attempt balancing it. In the additional multiplayer modes, more focus is going in to making them fair. Security will be in place, and knowing it is "fair" will be a big reason many people will play and enjoy the new modes. Like people modifying their saved game files to gain resources, or people hunting for the hidden cheat code in the game, multiplayer co-op doesn't actually harm anyone else if you cheat so I'm not worried about it. There is no true competition between the players. In the other modes there will be harm if people cheat, so I will take steps to prevent it. I'm considering making cavalry a bit stronger and faster to make up for their production requirements, though I'm not completely positive on that yet. Chris, the bug with troops has been fixed in version 2.1. If you were actually using version 2.1 when this bug happened, please let me know lol! > My first thought was how easy this > turned out to be. Re: [Audyssey] Trivia version 2
Hi Shaun, Yep, I put version 1 of my trivia game engine up on my site back in October 2003. I should have done the text on the screen a long time ago. I still do not like doing text in VB6. I mean unless you drag and drop a text box and define fields and populate them etc, all you can do is scroll text top down. In dos Quick Basic and all of the dos Basics that I ever used you had a locate function to put text anywhere on the screen that you wished as well as making it any color that you wished. I imagine that one can do the same in VB6, but not just simply using such commands as locate and color. And then there is that when you did put text on the screen in dos, all dos screen readers would automatically speak it if you wanted them to. That is, you could put text on the screen and not have it spoken if you wished. BTW the wintriv2.exe install contains all 11 wintgf ad on files. Re: [Audyssey] I beat Ausem Homer!!!
Hi Alfredo, No, the chainsaw only runs for a specific amount of time and then it is gone. You can not pick it up again. And yes, although it is now harder because there are more barrels, if you make it through for awhile there is a second chainsaw. I'm not sure that I can write hints as to how to beat level 1. Other than keep running as you can jump the barrels easier while running. I could though send you an mp3 of me beating level 1. I have to say though, that the barrels were kind to me in that play. You know since they are random some times the level or parts of it are easier than other times. Re: [Audyssey] I beat Ausem Homer!!!
Hi alfredo. Nope, a chainsaw works for a bit and then your on your own again and have to jump the barrels. The best way I found was to keep running and jump when ther barrels were closer to the central left of the sterio field, - about at my left eye's position in front of me. If your running you can get a litle more clearence, if walking a litle less, but generally the barrels do have to be relatively close to center. Once I'd got this distance sorted, it was simply a case of practicing and a litle luck, also being familiar with how close I could get to each barrel after landing. Unfortunately that's the only way through. On the pluss side I think level 1 is thus far the hardest level in the game, evenl level 6 is easier imho. Beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] WWE Superslam
Hi Tom. I've not seen that title match you mentioned, but that one sounds awsome! Pluss from a game perspective I like the idea that changing tactics can actually affect the game sinse as I've said, it's reactive gameplay which for me is extremely interesting, and an alteration in tactics having such a massive impact (a moonsalt full of impact no less), is just the sort of thing I'd be interested to see. Beware the grue! Dark. - Original Message - From: "Thomas Ward" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, September 05, 2011 12:47 AM Subject: [Audyssey] WWE Superslam Hi everyone, As many of you might remember for the last couple of months or so I've been working on a text-based wrestling game named WWE: Superslam. Its similar to the old Dos Piledriver game in concept, but I hope to improve upon that design as I go along. Anyway, Tonight I was testing the game and had a very cool wrestling match I'd like to share with you all. It was a WWE Diva's match between Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix. It was based on their title match at Summer Slam, but actually better as I was playing it via the game. The game started out with me, playing as Kelly Kelly, and I thought I'd try and soften Beth Phoenix up with some punches, kicks, and take her down to the matt with some takedown moves like leg sweeps or an arm drag. Unfortunately, for me Beth Phoenix managed to get the upper hand and started handing Kelly Kelly's butt to her. Beth drove a knee lift into Kelly's face, and then dropped her to the mat with a spinning powerbomb. From there she basically tossed Kelly Kelly around the ring like a rag doll with a series of slams, suplexes, and threw in a few extra kicks and punches here and there for good measure. Realising I'm like getting nowhere real quick I decided to take a page out of Eve Torres's playbook and go for some high risk arial moves. As soon as Kelly manages to escape the beating Beth is giving her I climb up onto the second rope, and perform a springboard moonsault. Kelly Kelly moonsault's off the second rope and hits Beth Phoenix like a cruise missile and Beth crashes to the matt. I then catch Beth Phoenix in Kelly Kelly's classic victory roll, and pin her for the three count. That's how the Glamazon crashed and burned. What do you think about that match, eh?
