Hi Jim,
For your adult Pizza Delivery game you could change that to,
Pot and prostitute delivery game.
For Marijuana, you could specify which Strains of it,
1. Grape Stomper- super heavy, very kiefy sativa strain with a crazy high
THC level (usually 20% and above)
2. Golden Goat- a completely unique smelling sativa dominant with a sweet
taste and great high for enjoying all the other things that make Colorado
awesome other than legal weed.

3. Sage n Sour- If you absolutely have your heart on something Sour.
An amazing hybrid that stands for "Sativa Afgani Genetic Equilibrium";
legend has it that it was an attempt to create the first true hybrid 50%
sativa, 50% indica strain. So cross that with a strong sativa and you've got
something special for sure.
4. Critical Mass- a fruity tasting high CBD strain that is great for pain
relief. Though lower in THC and great for a relaxing effect without too much
of a psychoactive effect, the very high CBDs still pack a punch that will
leave you locked to the couch for several hours.
5. Presidential Kush- a sativa dominant cross with OG Kush, this is just not
to be missed if you can find it. Truly one of Colorado's most unique and
pleasing strains for overall effect, taste, smell, and bud density.

And for the prostitute what type of toppings to wear, bra, bikini,
glitter, tassels or bare.
And with your choice of hair colors in black, brunette, blonde and red, or
even gray.

smiles,
Phil

[Audyssey] About pc games

2014-12-15 Thread dark
Hi Tom.
It's odd you mention new developers, sinse that is recently
very much what
I'm seeing. Ian read, Vg storm and reality software are
onto their second
projects, everyone already knows about Aprone, and
there are several smaller
devs who've produced first games for the pc that are quite
surprising, blind
swordsman, Park Boss and Traders of Known space, (I
imagine we'll be seeing
some good stuff from valliant galaxy soon enough).
What I will say is that when people develop for the Pc
they're trying to do
things that are slightly more experimental. Sinse there is
now a glut of
arcade games, especially space invaders ones, not to
mention a huge number
of traditional and puzzle games, when people develop for
the pc they usually
do something different such as a stratogy game.
I will also say however, I don't know why, but some
developers just seem to
get forgotten about. I always liked Shard Workshop's
zero site games, and
their music puzzle last year wasn't a bad idea, but
whenever people discuss
games, even military sim games they never get
remembered, same goes for
things like Tactical battle. it's odd, I don't even think it is
to do with
advertising sinse other devs get as much advertising as
anyone in the
community, maybe it is just that people like Draconis and
Lworks have been
around for such a long time all the oldies remember them
and they're the
first to get recommended to new players, I don't know.
But certainly, while
it is extremely sad that Bsc and X site have shut and that
Liam Urven isn't
going anymore (particularly about Bsc given Justin's less
than decent
handling of the shut down), I don't think we're doomed.
All the best,
Dark.

wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even the

Re: [Audyssey] audio games popularity

2014-12-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Michael,

While I agree with you for the most part it is important to really see
what has been going on the last few years.

First, the majority of games for mobile platforms like iOS are being
developed by mainstream developers rather than blind developers. There
is a number of mainstream developers who are making games that happen
to be accessible or are willing to make them so for iOS, but have
little to no interest in developing for say Windows and other PC
platforms. Thus we are seeing an explosion of games for iOS that are
accessible, but little interest in making more games for the PC.

At the same time as you no doubt know the blind developers who were
developing games for the PC have been leaving left and right. Just in
the last few years we have seen BSC Games, DanZ Games, L-Works, and
X-Sight Interactive all close their doors and the owners/developers of
said companies have moved on to other things. Thus fewer developers
means fewer games for the PC.

I certainly don't think we've seen the last of the audio games for the
PC, but I do think unless we get some more developers to help we
aren't going to see as many new titles as before. Moreover its not
just the number of developers we need, but skilled developers. the
bigger the more complex the game idea the more skilled and seasoned
developer you will want/need for the project. It would be unreasonable
to expect a brand new game developer to write something like King of
Dragon Pass on his/her first go. Such a game requires skills anew
developer probably wouldn't have.

Cheers!

Mmmm, paladin of the sky, Traders of known space, park boss, deathmatch:
project alpha, not to mention swamp, revelation, kerkerkruip, (though sinse
that one is technically for Glulks it could be played on ios).

I actually did think things had changed to favour mobile (especially ios),
development recently, but having sat down in the last few days to update the
audiogames.net database with a lot of new releases I'm not quite as
convinced of that.

Re: [Audyssey] audio games popularity

2014-12-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Michael,

Well, the reason some games, in fact most games, are platform specific
is because it is very complicated to design games for multiple
platforms. Yes, it can be done as games like the Inquisitor proves,
but there is nothing saying that it was easy and everyone has the time
and skills to do it. Therefore the majority of developers pick a
platform and stick with it.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] audio games popularity

2014-12-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Ishan,

As far as copyright goes the end user license agreement shipped with
the product will contain that information. In the majority of cases
these days games and other products are handled by international
copyright laws plus whatever the copyright laws of where the product
is being sold. It isn't really all that complicated.

As for deaf-blind players they can play games, but they have to be
designed to handle both deaf players and blind players at the same
time. For example, a deaf-blind player can use a screen reader with a
braille display to play text based games, but might not be able to
play audio games. There may be other workarounds for deaf-blindness as
well.

Cheers!

Thanks, guys. I always wait for the heartbeat to start before I swing.
I've sometimes heard it beat faster, like a "second gear". :) I'll try
waiting for that, and I'll try making each swing count.

2014-12-15 Thread Steven Cantos
Look, gamers. No one's forcing you to play the adult oriented games. It's
not like their saying, "you'd better play the adult games, or else, we'll
cut off your head" or crap like that. I think that it has a lot to do with
your maturity level, and whether you have grasped the concept of Adult
Oriented. Obviously, there's going to be some adult content in those games.
If you wish to play them, that's your own choice, and that's your standard.
If not, well, that's your own choice, too. I'm not going to criticize.

Re: [Audyssey] the dos solution maybe?

2014-12-15 Thread shaun everiss

well most of it is from ifarchives/games
folder including ifarchive/games/ inform
ifarchive/games/aft
ifarchive/games/pc
and /games/tads
I have also some solutions in there.
there are ofcause things I have no idea where I got them from anacron
sc-dos achr which I forget where I got those from.
A lot of custom tools and junk a hacker that my dad knows gave me
when I set my system up in the old days.
Then there are useless bits of crap like an old toshiba 6.22 ms dos
support disk and an enhancement disk for dos 6.22 with stuff from 5.0.
maybe some other stuff the disteno games, a couple birth and other
card programs, quarterdeck expanded memmory 7 and 8 completely
useless now norton 8 and 7 again useless.

To be honest I don't know what good is in the archive
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1407689/oldgames.7z
Its here anyway if you want, there are some old munawar programs
basic stuff I had when I had gwbasic.

I wouldn't be supprised though if most of what I have now is total crap!
Half of it I never really ran at all.
And the reason most of it is crap now is because the systems it was
written for don't exist now.
I can give you wordperfedct 5.1 and old keynote software dos 6 and 5
but they are totally crap and usless unless you have hardware synths
and the system to run it on.
I wouldn't run some of the utilities on windows I am sure they are to
dangerous.
The last time I looked at this stuff was back in 2000 when I still
had the stuff.
I don't have the old system anymore and its totally crap because its
crappy and dead and I dropped it and its drives are all doomed anyway.

I chucked out all my old hardware ages ago to save space.
Aaying if I was ever able to get my hand on a keynote gold card or
even an old toshiba 1850 or something then I have the software right here.
if I could get a full unused keysoft 2 that would rock to but there
is no chance of that ever happening to me so I may as well forget it.
The reason I made the archive was because I wanted to preserve it but
several times over the years I have thought of clearing the archives,
and taking all my disks and throwing them away, including all the
backups I have and my drive and eeverything!

I havn't but thats mainly due to my lazyness.
Life has moved round a lot, gym, games, testing piano walking etc.
I have less time to think on things and the only time I ever remotely
have time to think of this is weekends and even then I am getting
less and less time.
Even now I am trying to get on top of everything because tomorrow I
have some extra training and I need to hunt for a xmas tree.
To be honest I don't even waht to know what is in the archive, I used
to have so much time to run it all but now I don't know.
it was the reason though I stayed with the x86 platform to run dos
games in emulated ntvdm mode.
but that was the last time I ever do it, once I get a system with
more than 4 gb ram, that may be the end of the line for me.

now we just need someone to modify the dos provox7 screen reader
so when you load dosemu provox will talk using espeak then we can
use a real dos screen reader. aw heck make provox and espeak work
in dosbox also.

provox is the only free open source screen reader for dos.
i want to use a real dos screen reader, and use my old favorites
like wordperfect 5.1, lotus123, megadots, all the old dos text
games, the dos edit application, q-basic for dos, and more.
linux such as TalkingArch could provide a backend for letting
dosbox or dosemu access modern devices like usb floppy drives and stuff.

Download "Psy High" and "Creatures Such as We" today! Is this
email not displaying correctly?
  View it in your browser.

Today, Choice of Games is proud to announce two new
games. First, Psy High, the latest in our popular “Choice of Games” line of
multiple-choice interactive-fiction games, is now available on iOS, Android,
Kindle Fire, and, via the Chrome Web Store, Windows, OS X, and Linux.

Second, we’re announcing that Creatures Such as We is
now available for free on iOS, Android, and our web site.

Psy High — Read minds, fight evil, and save the junior
prom!

When the kids at your high school start developing
psychic powers, you and your friends must team up to stop the principal from
taking over the world!

Psy High is an interactive teen supernatural mystery
novel by Rebecca Slitt, where your choices control the story. It’s entirely
text-based–without graphics or sound effects–and fueled by the vast,
unstoppable power of your imagination.

Play as male or female; gay, straight, or bi. Will you
be a jock or a brain? Popular or ignored? Use your psychic powers to help
others, or to take what you want. Win a coveted scholarship, star in the Drama
Club play–or lose it all and spend your senior year in juvenile detention. How
much are you willing to sacrifice to get ahead in the world?

Can you solve the case? Can you save the school? And
most importantly, can you find a date to the prom?

a.. Solve mysteries in the classic teen-detective
genre with a supernatural twist
b.. Find your place in the cutthroat high-school
social scene: be an athlete, an actor, a brain, or a rebel
c.. Uncover the truth about your small town and its
secrets
d.. Instead of stopping the principal, why not steal
his powers for yourself, or even join him in his plan for world domination?
e.. Find your one true love, or more than one! (They
never talked about love triangles in trigonometry!)
Creatures Such as We – One of the Best Games of IFComp

Creatures Such as We by Lynnea Glasser is a
philosophical romance with game designers on the moon. It's available on iOS,
Android, and our web site for free, with no in-game advertisements and no
in-app purchases.

In Creatures Such as We, living on the moon is lonely,
and stressful, and exhausting. Video games have always offered you an escape to
a better life. The easy, happy life you wish you had. Which makes it so
frustrating when the game you’ve been playing ends badly. But you have a chance
to figure it out, because the next tourist group is the game’s designers. You
can debate with them about art, inspire them with the beauty of outer space,
get closer to any one specific designer in particular, and finally find out how
to get the ending you always wanted.

a.. Immerse in the beautiful setting of a moon-bound
tourist destination a tourist destination.
b.. Explore the meaning of gaming as a form of
artistic expression with a cast of game designers.
c.. Inspire profound discussions, courage, and even
love with the visiting space tourists.
d.. Six unique character paths, with options to be
romantic or maintain strict professionalism.
e.. Play both your character, and the character of
the game-within-a-game.
f.. Decide for yourself the best way to bridge the
gap between game players and designers.
g.. Inclusive options for gender identity,
orientation, race, and age.
Lynnea wrote Creatures Such as We in ChoiceScript as
part of the 20th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition (IFComp), where it took
second place.

One of the beautiful things about IFComp is that people
post lots and lots of online reviews for IFComp games. Leigh Alexander posted
about Creatures Such as We in The Guardian. Emily Short posted a full review
and highlighted it in her “top tier” (best of the competition) roundup, calling
it “Well-paced and richly written.”

Re: [Audyssey] Audyssey Magazine was A Brief Tribute

2014-12-15 Thread shaun everiss
I just wish that the audyssey magazine could become more regular,
fact is by the time the mag hits these days if it does most of the
stuff ie news and stuff is out of date.

for whatever reason though I don't want to see the mag die off just like that.
Problem is it was in the days before broadband, now its almost not
needed but then I really miss reading it.
I have always thought about putting something together even if you
have to change from the origional format to reflect everything thats going on.
There are so many projects out there its hard to know what is good
and what isn't.

Hi Shaun,

While the Audyssey Magazine has been temporarily on hiatus the last
couple of years I happen to believe it will be back sooner or later.
Not what Ron's situation is and why he hasn't been able to put out an
issue for a while I don't foresee it lasting forever.

Besides Audyssey is so much bigger than the magazine these days. I do
intend to update the website in the not too distant future, plan to
work on converting the magazines to html, and may do a few other
things with the site such as have a news section that will supplement
the magazine when it comes back.

Cheers!

Fact was i had no idea of what the net was back then.
I had started when win 95 was out.
In fact I never really left dos till 2005 when my old keynote gold
died completely.
In fact through highschool, the keynote gold was with me till just
before the end when I switched to my satelite 310.
However the keynote was more fun because it had games on it.
Dos actually got me friends with a group of hackers, I am friends
with one of them still, another couple I know the rest have gone away.
We played with games before the net.
Most of them ran windows 3.1 and dos then however jims games were one
of the things we often played.
Sadly audyssey is basically dead, I don't know though if its worth
bringing it back though.
There are rarely issues out these days, and the fact is the
audiogames forum has replaced it.
back in the dialup days it was good, saying if something can be done
with the mag, I have time to help out.
I have jarte plus as my lightweight processer, and to be honest I
want to keep the magazine alive.
Jims stuff got me into that, the imortal gamer reminded me of the
comic strips and other stuff in old computer magazines now no longer
in production or online.
A lot of them came with software, cds disk, and the like.
my group and I would load things on systems till they died and decide
what was good or not, if it completely totaled the system usually the
cd was snapped into bits and shreaded, however those days are gone
with the web.
Once I tried to bring up an old project on some old systems machines
for book playback but not much came of it.

I agree with talking arch but I majorly mangled my install on my
system and I may have to redo it again I may need some help when that
comes I have an old system I can use it on but I really have no clue
over a sertain point it never got working as I'd like it which was
why I wanted to get sonar manjaro and set from that.

what is nice about it is you can install a GUI desktop, but set it
up so the GUI launches when you type the command and tell it to run.
I think speakup will even work with voxin if you want. but if provox
and espeak worked in dosbox or dosemu or both, then we could have a
real dos screen reader, inside of real dos again.

I subscribed to the list at softcon and such.
Back then I still had dos so was able to play some of the old games.
I learned so much in the first few reads, things like infocom games
were right under my nose, when I was born, in 1982 infocom ruled gaming.
I had my first system in 1991 but never thought about gaming till
I got the net.
And I never thought about the net till my best friend and leader
of the hacker group I was with got it and started poking with code.

For a while up to 1998 in fact I was the only one with the net.
No one thought about that.
my dad and the rest of the family were skeptical about costs and
security, and my religious aunt and uncle are still suspicious but
at least they have it now.

I couldn't imagine a life with out the net now.
Yet, if I had never got friends when I did I wouldn't have even

Back then school computers and such were for school and you were
trained with the basics.

I was always fiddling with the disk drive trying to get disks to read.
I still have a usb drive somewhere but all the disks are on my system.
from time to time I play interactive fiction and old dos games but
as everyone has gone 64 bit I don't play with dos much mainly
because I'd need a seperate machine to get it working or a desktop
that could run vms, my laptop can't manage it I have tried.

For ages I tried to get an old dos system but gave up eventually.
Windows is my life and for the most part its quite good for what it is.

Hi,

Yeah, I think I first discovered Jim's games around 96 or 97 as well.
Audyssey such as it was only had a couple of issues out, and I think
is how I discovered Jim's Dos games. In any case I have had countless
hours of fun playing Jim's games both for Dos and for Windows.

In fact, I have considered for along time of porting some of them to
Linux just so I'd be able to play them natively on Linux without
having to resort to Wine or similar means. I just haven't had the time
or the mental state of mind to take on such a project though.

Cheers!

Most of them ran windows 3.1 and dos then however jims games were
one of the things we often played.
Sadly audyssey is basically dead, I don't know though if its worth
bringing it back though.
There are rarely issues out these days, and the fact is the
audiogames forum has replaced it.
back in the dialup days it was good, saying if something can be
done with the mag, I have time to help out.
I have jarte plus as my lightweight processer, and to be honest I
want to keep the magazine alive.
Jims stuff got me into that, the imortal gamer reminded me of the
comic strips and other stuff in old computer magazines now no
longer in production or online.

A lot of them came with software, cds disk, and the like.
my group and I would load things on systems till they died and
decide what was good or not, if it completely totaled the system
usually the cd was snapped into bits and shreaded, however those
days are gone with the web.
Once I tried to bring up an old project on some old systems
machines for book playback but not much came of it.

you have a few more things than I have and I have added them to my stuff.
I have documentation for various dectalk synths to.
To be honest if I could get a donation to source some of the stuff
copywrite, etc and get stuff ported I'd do it, but I really have no
idea how to do it and next I'd need to pigyback on a hosting of stuff
and there is bandwidth to concidder to.
There is probably a bit more, I know I don't have all the infocom
disks for example but even so.

I am the last or one of the last of the breed of people that ever knew dos.
And to be honest I'd still use it over windows in some respects.

download and play them. However, instead of leaving it at that they
feel they must verbally protest.

I for one appreciate you have decided to create adult oriented games,
because our market is small and there are very few truly adult

release the occasional adult oriented game because I usually get a lot
of fun out of them.

[Audyssey] Adult Delivery game

2014-12-15 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Jim,
For your adult Pizza Delivery game you could change that to,
Pot and prostitute delivery game.

An amazing hybrid that stands for "Sativa Afgani Genetic Equilibrium";
legend has it that it was an attempt to create the first true hybrid 50%
sativa, 50% indica strain.

And with your choice of hair colors in black, brunette, blonde and red, or
even gray.

smiles,
Phil
