Hi Dark, yes i just donated 75 dollars to st2 retroactively so to speak and
donated 20 pounds through paypal to 3 monkeys so htats money in the bag for
them. I worry that they might not reach their goal though.
More interaction, although that can also lead to a lot of non intuitive
complexity in general is a good idea imho. I liked audio defence because it was
so intuitive and engaging because of the complementing of body movement and 3d
audio. Innovation is always good though I hope they will make it.
And yes i did read the st2 updates exciting stuff!

Hi Anouk.
Well if your keeping up with startraders 2 you will also see that that is
likely to be special, indeed it's going to have a story and character system
to rival Kodp from the look of it (read the update on the motivation engine
and you'll see what I mean).
Three monkeys will be a very different beast indeed to either paladin of the
sky or entombed.
Entombed is a randomly generating turn based combat hack, while paladin of
the sky was an attempt at a final fantasy style turn based character driven
rpg (albeit it missed a lot of gameplay aelements that such games usually
have particularly as regards options in combat and equipment).
Three Monkeys is I believe planned as more a 3D action rpg of some sort, at
least that is the strong impression I get from talking to the developers.
You might also like to know that while they're quite aware of games like
Papasangre (they have played them), they want three monkeys to be a more
complex experience with more ways to interact with the world than just
running away from monsters and picking up objects.
I'm not sure how this will translate in game terms, but I can tell you from
all my experiences with developers that this team really! strike me as
knowing what they're doing in a professional and highly accomplished way, and
won't skimp on anything.
As to spreading the word, I'm not sure, I am guessing they are already
working on the indi development sites, so having the game on twitter and
facebook is a good idea, though I suspect most blind gamers will know about
the game from either here or audiogames.net.
all the best,
Dark.
There is always more to know, more to see, more to learn. The world is vast
and wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even
the archmaesters of the citadel can dream.

Really cool dark are there any ways in which we can spread the word? I have
already tweeted about it and will soon head over to the kickstarter page.
Still also really looking forward to star traders 2 but this seems pretty
darn cool too.
I hope it will be available with ios and gyro mode enabled like audiodefence
but thats just wishful thinking.

This is to let everyone who hasn't seen the news on audiogames.net know
about a kickstarter funding campaign for an upcoming audio rpg, Three
monkeys, by Inccus games.
I'll say I chatted to one of the devs myself back in 2013 when a little
info was first given out about the game, and I was extremely impressed with
their dedication, and knolidge of all aspects of game design from sound
design to the engin.
The game is planned to be one where you play a character called Tobar in a
world where the sun has been torn out of the sky by an evil curse. The
three monkeys referd to is the concept from eastern philosophy emboddied in
a statue of three monkeys, hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evi, though
how this ties into the game yet we don't know.
Either way this should show that already the game has a detailed world and
story, and as I said I was extremely impressed by the professional standard
of the devs.
You can find the kickstarter page here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1950090942/three-monkeys-part-1-into-the-abyss
And if you'd prefer to use paypal to pledge money, you can do that here:
http://enterbyzantia.com/
If the developer's don't get the amount of money pledged for Kickstarter,
they'll still attempt to make the game happen, but attempt is the
operative word, so for anyone who wants a really complex and detailed audio
rpg by some distinctly talented devs, now it's time to put your money where
your mouth is.
Here's what the developers said about the game:
three monkeys is a fantasy rpg that
looks to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with audio in games.
The game puts players in the shoes of Tobar: a blind hero who embarks on
a journey through a dark, cursed land, where the sun has been ripped out
the sky.
