Re: [Audyssey] achaea?

Hello. Achea has a bit of a learning curve, but it can be fun. There are
houses you can join along with cities. The combat system is a bit
different, if you want to create a character, let me know. I'd go by
ardgon on there, would need to create that character.

 Hello Jaliya,
I am currently a monk of the House Ashura in the city of Ashtan. I am
level 25 and my characters name is Ilanthas. This mud does rely alot on
triggers and the like. There is a very good player base and they have
two dedicated newbie guides who are very helpful. They have lots of
good quests and areas that are designed for those under the level of 21.
There is also a clan for those of us who are blind. it is called Clan
TBRP. As far as the prompts go you can have it on or off. If you have
it on you can decide what you want displayed. My email is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] There are other blind players on there beside me but I
am not sure who all they are because I am still a relative newbie. Any
questions dont hesitate to ask. I will try and answer them as best I can.
 Sincerely,

Hmmm, what does ornariness mean? not a word I've come across before.
though
if I take your meaning as to be an unfair twist in gameplay, personally,
I
like the idea to make later levels that much more challenging.

also, sinse I've always tried to preserve my swords for situations where
I
really need them, jumping over enemies doesn't seem too unreasonable to
me.

I think we're in trouble! This sounds like something you would do, just
 out
of orneriness. I think you would want to listen to other gamers
playing
  the
game, laughing as you listen. On the surface, it sounds like a good
idea,
but I don't think I would want to face invincible monsters. Does it
take

  Hi everyone,
A couple of days ago a couple of you were asking about my views on
bosses in Montezuma's Return. I did some digging on exactly how the
higher levels were handled and found out something interesting about
the
classic Montezuma's Revenge, and the good news is this should be easy
enough to add to the game. In the classic game after level 7 monsters
became completely invincible to swords, and you couldn't find any more
swords on those levels. It was basically run like heck, get what you
can, and try and make it off the level as fast as you can.
Since this is so strait forward and a piece of cake and easy as pie
this
is the bosses answer I think we all were seaking. It is not a
triditional boss, but it is true to the original game, difficult, and
you beat the bosses not by killing them, but staying alive.
I can add a super boss skull, Montezuma, which is invincible and super
  deadly. What do y'all think?

  Hi Ron,

I just played the week 15 game, the Ravens verses the Browns. My
Browns
fumbled on their first offensive play and on their next possession and
on
their next. So the first three times that they had the ball they
fumbled
it. But the defense did excellent and kept them from scoring too much
and
gave the offence a chance to get back into the game which they did and
the
Browns ended up winning the game 31 to 10. My Browns are now 15 and 0.
One more win and it will be my first ever perfect season.

I

to
be times which the player would want to play a single player in order to
better himself at the game. If someone was new to the game and had to

This will be dealt with in a way that allows those that want to fight

to
  do
this, but the one I am leaning on right now is a fight pit, where

What I would really like is the ability for players to organize their
  own
tournaments, with entry fees paid and divvied out amongst the winners.
  This
could get a bit sticky however, due to different character levels

The outline is being tweaked and enhanced as I work on other stuff,

 Hi.

Recently on the audio games.net forums, a couple of members have been
discussing cracks and such. However with this latest topic I think things
are going slightly far. In light of the recent discussion about pyracy, I'm
reporting it here, - because I'm not precisely sure whome to contact
relating to shades of doom.

 Please see:

 http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=12160#p12160

I'm sorry for having to go through these sorts of things, but given the
talk about pyracy, I thought it was probably better than leaving the issue.
Also, as I said, this isn't this person's first discussion of pyracy (as
che martin unfortunately noticed).

 Sorry again.

 all the best,

 Dark.

 Hello

 Hi Thomas,

I don't know, I think a trivial pursuit game or a Jeopardy type game is
going to be more work than you realize. I mean first you are going to
need a data base of questions and answers and then the string matching
is not really going to be all that easy. I know that it has been done
of course, but even when playing PC Jeopardy with sighted help it will
give you an incorrect even though you essentially had the correct
answer. Maybe just misspelled or not complete or even too much, not
phrased the way the game was looking for etc etc.

 Hi, all.
I was on the fantastic games and where to find them site and noticed a
game called dragon warrrior that sounded interesting.
So, I clicked the link to go to the site and it asked me to accept an
active X control. When I click ok, it crashes my internet explorer. I've
tried it several times with the same results. Does anyone have a direct
 link to the game?

 Hi,
I just wanted to put my two cents worth in here.

I had purchased Aliens in the Outback when ESP had it. Then after it
switched hands to Draconis I requested a new key. I had it in a fairly
 short
time and was up and running. This past Christmas I purchased pinball
 extreme
and party pack 1 and received very prompt service on getting my order
 processed and the registration keys.

It sounds like this person did not receive lightning quick service and
therefore lumped all of Draconis services in as one bad apple. I hope they
hear others who had great service and can open their mind as well as their
eyes and see that perception in this case is not total reality.

They have a faq section to their website, and they have player pages that

things seem to be well a bit vague as far as how you can actually go about
advancing yourself. If you didn't know about the player pages, you might
end up being discouraged with the mud even though, its a rather bizarre

for those of you who played TV games I want to share with you my
memories. There was a little game calledmilk and nuts. But none of
 my
sighted friends seem to figure it out. Its very tricky. Balloon fight is
such a nice game I really hope to see in the future of the accessible
gaming industry. I seem to get the hang of it although I didn't had a
clue what's going on because I heard some sounds in the game where I
 went
over to the next level but I don't really know how the game works. I can
remember 2 karate games. And, who, of, you, can, remember, bomber,
 man!!!
wow! That was a cool game. you walk up and down and also sideways and
activate bombs to kill your enemies but if you plant a bomb and you
don't move away from it in another direction you got killed by it. Who
can remember circus Charlie? Its my favorite game. I already explained
 to
lighttechinteractive how the game work. They said they will have a look
at my idea in the near future. What is that game called with
the clouds and the snails? Who can remember popai? road fighter was
such a nice car game. It wasn't actually a racing game. You traveled
 with
your car on the road. you have to get to the petrol pumps in time, they
are planted alongside the road and you have to turn off to get to them,
 you
have to drive past huge trucks, other cars and also super man flying by.
I have so many memories of the tv games I played with my sighted friends.
There's so many of them.I really hope we would be able toplay
 some
of them in the future of the accessible gaming industry.
There's a few others I would like to share with you but I remember them
 very
vaguely. I can only remember their music. I would be able to play the
tune on my organ but otherwise I can't tell you how the games works. I
 can
always get technical and give you the beginning notes of the tunes but
that's beyond the scope of this list.

 Hi Charles,
If there was ever a game that is old and dusty, it is chess!
We could make it modern by changing the way the pieces move!
Have you ever seen a horse that moves straight and then turns 90 degrees?
How about having him jump two spaces, then jump two more and for the
hell
of it jump another two in a straight line!
And how about the castles they should not be able to move at all, except
if
they fall over and crush what is next to them thus killing themselves.
And who ever saw a king that was so old and feeble he could only move one
 square?
How about if the king could jump eight squares in any direction!
Wow that will knock the dust off this old game!
 smiles,
 Phil

You're missing the point entirely, though. Here are some of your
  thoughts,
with a response that will, hopefully, explain why it should be left as
it
originally was. These are my thoughts on yours:

This is the 21st century and everyone wants something that was popular
in
the 70-80's to be kept the same.

How about moving up and upgrading to the current and future? If people
  want
games that are from the 70-80's, why not just buy a game from that era
and
  play it?
My response is that we, as blind people, who have not been able to play
  the
original games, will now have a chance to do so. Because we have never
played the game, it is, obviously, new to us. I emphasize new to us,
  because that is the key.

How ridiculous is it to want a game that is old and dusty? Why not have
a
game that has a lot of replay value and one that can offer so much more
  fun
and challenges and current with today's programming capabilities? why
not
make a game that is attractive to all old and young a like?
My response: What makes you think that Montezuma's Revenge has no
replay
value? The game's age?? Have you played it all the way through? No,
because it does not exist in a format that blind people can access.
Here
again, just because a game is old does not mean that it does not have
  replay
value. Chess is over 2,000 years old, and it is still played all over
the
world by tons of people. The age of a game has no bearing on whether it
has, or does not have, replay value. If a game is good, it will remain
  so.
Time does tell the quality of a game. The good ones last forever.

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Moderator's quick note regarding message size

 Hi,
I'd like to point out one more point that hadn't been braught up. If a
message is large do to a news letter, an audyssey mag, or something that
was just large to begin with that can not be trimmed or cut down to size
we make sure to pass those through the system.

 Raul A. Gallegos wrote:
Hi everyone. I'd just like to take the time to point out that in the
last several days there have been several messages which have been
rejected based on size. When writing or replying to a message it's
important to rememder that if the message is too big it will not go
through. Below are some key points to remember. Also, if you have any
questions on this topic please write [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead
  of replying here.

  1. If your message is a reply please trim the extra lines. Usually a
good practice for this is to only quote the person who you are replying
to. Example, if there is a topic about checkers and there 5 messages
and
you reply to the newest, by simply replying you are adding your message
and if you include the whole quoted thing you are including the first 5
messages. However if your reply only is in reference to the last person
who wrote then it makes sence to erase everything after that person's
  message.

  2. No one wants to tell anyone how to write emails or in what format,
however one thing to take into account is if your email client is
sending out html messages what usually happens is the message is
actually sent in two parts. part 1 is the html message and part 2 is
the
text attachment. Our mailing list software strips out the html message
and sends the text version to the list. However the size check is done
before the html message is stripped off. What this means is if your
message is say, 5 or 6 k in size normally, the added html code will
make
it much bigger. Our mailing list software won't know the difference and
your message might be rejected. So, short fix is to simply not use html
messages and instead send text only.

We realize of course that either people don't want to just use text
messages or they don't know how to change it or they cannot change it
from their client. In cases like this we try to allow messages through
if we can determine the reason for the extra size. If the message is
obviously large due to lack of trimming old quoted messages then it's
rejected. But if the message would have most likely passed through
except for the html junk in it, then we'll let it go through.

  All the best.
