 Hi Josh,

I don't know, I have had thoughts of making a chess game, but I really
prefer to put my hands on an actual physical board when playing chess. I
do though have the file gnuch30g.zip which is supposed to be a chess
engine in a neutral language. So if I ever did work on a chess game I
would use that. You know that I would never even think of trying to write
 the engine for chess myself.

[Audyssey] New Game

2007-06-06 Thread eloheem team
I just got home from work and I'll try the send space thing, this game is about
being a drug seller, purchasing different drugs, re - selling them, making a
profit and traveling to different places around the globe selling, you also
purchase guns, ammo, non - scent spray for traveling, shipping your stuff,
dealing with loan sharks, paying them back in time without them finding you,
dealing with a volt for placing money in the bank, upgrading your status from
a wanna be, to the top rank of drug lord, for a brief description.. This
game has documentation to explain how to do things, and I'll get to work on
sending it.. Later

Does anyone have about 300 K space they could post the zip file so I
don't have to email it to ten different people?

I've decided that writing an indepth tutorial would take way too long
given my other-life work load, so I will answer questions
instead. The files come with a lesson document by the author. He
was planning on playing the game on a hex map. We are using Excel to
resolve actual coordinates, which is more accurate and actually
simpler after the initial investment of time on my part.

If I can post it somewhere, y'all can download it and take a look,
and I will answer any questions I can. once people have a feel for
how it works, I'll set up a scenario appropriate to the number of
 players we have.

Shane, can I email you the file for posting as I did the Anacreon
tutorial I wrote a while back?

Re: [Audyssey] Jim's NFL game

2006-05-22 Thread eloheem team
Your correct Jim, and that would take alot of time, I was just thinking
like, maybe 3 most logical choices for each down on both sides of the ball,
this would open the game up a bit, ya know? like if your running back is
hot, and the defense isn't respecting him, then the offense switches it up
with a double reciever post out for a touchdown, just as the defense goes in
with the full linebacker blitz to stop the running back; this would give a
game player a feel of how a game may play both as a athlete and coach**

 Hi eloheem,

I am afraid that I would not or do not have a full offensive and defensive
play book of plays to add to the football game and if I were going to add
anymore than just the simple standard ones that it has now there would be
no end to it until you did get a full play book of plays into it.

It would also be nice if there were more plays for different situations,
more pass plays to different recievers or tight ends, fullback and running
back plays also, this makes the game of football interesting, and keeps the
defense honest.. I think this game is good, but it lacks the real life
football situations that makes football a real stradegy game...

The strat-o-Matic company only does American Major sports.

 The audio instructions for the
 Strat o Matic Instructions Jukebox
Will help you along with learning the games. I have just downloaded to
playball.ws a file that is two hours long. I still needed to write the
blurb for it in the jukebox.

The strat o Matic football had a big break through in making it
 accessible,
that allow me to work with it. I was able to find software that even
 helps
Jaws to make the play calling a snap with
Hot Spot Clicker. This was the only game that needed a third party
software. The good folks who created and improved Hot Spot Clicker are
blind programmers who developed the tool to help with those new types of
graphical buttons and such that Jaws has overlooked. The developemnt of
Jaws recently has gone away from making applications accessible to doing
things on the net Daisy books. Hot Spot Clicker tool is for applications,
but it does help in gaming as well.

I am not a first class Jaws script writer, but what I have done so far the
games with Strat I am proud of and willing now to share my work with
 others,
so they too , can play Sports Sims. Where you can replay seasons from
 the
past. Replaying the 1985 football season to relive the Bears
 Championship
season. I have also recently purchase the 1985 Basketball season to
 replay
the season and coach a rookie name Jordan. Relive the 1980's Oylimpic
Miricle. Right now I am in a draft for the 1937 season in my net league.

The Basketball game is nearly completed in making it access to play. And
 the
audio instructions will also go into the
Strat o Matic Instructions Jukebox. The Jukebox will also allow you to
 hear
the audio and save it to your hard drive. The Jukebox will include
downloaded files of the startup kit for baseball and the Jaws config files
 to make the games accessible.

There is still a way to go in making the games even more accessible by
 ease
of use. I want to not just make them accessible, but easier to use. By
cutting down on the movement of Jaws with frames and such. I have also
 been
working on Voice recognition with the baseball game. This has been
 successful and interesting.

Subject: [Audyssey] Creating a game programming list?

 Hi,
This question in particular goes to Raul and Kevin, but I think we all
should be involved in this idea. A while back us developers created a
list for ourselves called the agdev list. However, in it's own way is a
 closed list just to developers.
I'm wondering if all of us would like creating a newby programming list
on audyssey for all those who are interested in wanting to learn how to
program accessible games. It could even become a part of the audyssey
site as a resource center for college students, interested blind gamers,
 etc...
I know Richard has been putting together some stuff similar, and perhaps
we can hammer out some ideas what to do about this?
I feel the current programming thread is a bit off topic for this list
as we really only talk about existing games, but we may want to branch
off to a new list so all can freely talk about the specifics of game
 programming.
 What do y'all think?

Re: [Audyssey] Upcoming article on the Death of The Audio GameIndustry

2006-04-25 Thread eloheem team
well, upon looking at the audio games site this year compared to last year
this time, there are many games added, yes some are free and some are not,
some are rp games, some are still in development, and some audio friendly
games aren't even up there, anyway that is what I mean as constantly, thank
you

Hmm. I don't think they're constantly being added. They're being added,
but not constantly. I mean, yeah, games like free games etc or being
 added,
 but constantly added?

Do you mean continuously year after year? Basicly what I'm trying to say
 is
that a major game company with a major game will release a game; we only
 got
 like 2 games in 2005.

 Not trying to flame here...

 Thanks.

I felt the same way for a little bit, but the Audio games world has proven
me wrong, games are constantly being added, new concepts and even better
play, thus we are still growing, and as technology gets better we will
 still
 get better..

 Hi,

I just received this in my email which might be interesting for this

 Subject: gathering data
 Message:

 hi,

i'm in the process of trying to gather data in order to write an article
i've got in mind on the audio games industry. i believe that, due to
 the
limitations of the audio interface, this industry is currently at its
 height
and is destoned to go downhill from here. however, before saying
 something
of this nature, i'd like to gather more data and see if it really may be
 the
case, or if i am just reflecting my dissatisfaction with the industry
 onto
the rest of the world. first off, i have posted a survey at:
 http://fastfinge.livejournal.com/7642.html
for any audio game players who are interested to fill out and comment
 on.

second off, i am interested in speaking to any and all audio game
 developers
about where they see the industry going in the near and distant future,
 as
well as ideas for increasing the limitations of the audio game
 interface.
those with something to contribute can feel free to post to the entry
 above,
or email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

 thanks!
 -

Sigh I already had a look at his questions which are crap in my
professional opinion... but eh... you all have a go if you want to...

 Greets,

 Richard
