I suggested this to Jason directly several weeks ago, not heard
anything yet on it. I called it a Gift of RPG to a Friend.

We will see. I bet he already working on this.

Re: [Audyssey] help finding games for deaf/mtion impaired

2009-12-19 Thread Matt
Hello. Well I should know from first hand what playing as a Deaf-blind
gamer is like.

For one, the game would have to be able to use the braille display,
second it can't be too complex. Mainly due that most deaf blind folks
depending on if they ever seen or hear will not hve the clue on the
concept of most games.

For me, I've seen, and heard in my lifetime which has been short.
*grin* I'm only thirty two. Anyhow. I've play games since the
commador days up to the 360 xbox. i've even did some basic programming
for a time as well.

But, ever since I went deaf and lost all my vision, I've had to rely on
braille to play games.

Only games I've been able to play is Srwith, Kingdom of Loaf and all in
play. Not tried Chee card games yet.

Far as action goes that would be a hard game to even get a person who
never seen or hear in their life to understand.

Luckly I have hearing once in a while and found out I wil be able to
get those copular implants I might be able to play more sound type games.

though I enjoy playing Dominos, paper card games, and several other
type hands on games as long as you got good communication with the
person your playing it can be fun.

But that is just me.. I understand what alot of game terminologys are.

So a RPG that is all text that uses the braille display would be your
best bet if you are to make a game for anyone to play.

I know the VIP that GMA games came out with is not any good for me to
play. Mainly cause of the fact you have to type every little thing to
do something and no blind deaf person I know of is going to sit there
for hours doing that.

I'm not having ny luck runing any of Chee gmes on Windows 7 64 bit OS.
And I got all the latest Direct X and dot nets. Rail Racer and his

Are there any plans on updateing these games for the 64 Bit OS as 32

I hope GMA games will work, will try those next.

Re: [Audyssey] Chee Games.

2009-12-02 Thread Matt
What Utility? I updated the racing game and all. I got something to
do with Token errors.

Beats me. I know I had them working on Vista 32 bit, but I'm not
running that any more. Went out and bought all new equipment and put
all the others in the closet, new Mac, Mac book pro and Core I 7 Computer..

I guess I could put them on a VR version of XP. But, that shouldn't
have to be done.

Hate to say it but, 128 Bit will be out by 2012 if nobody hasn't heard,
since windows 8 will support it.

Guess I'll just keep playing with Entombed since it so far is the only
one that runs on 64 bit at the moment.

Hi list,
Last year, the summer of 2006, I spent allot of time playing Sryth.
However, around last Fall/Winter I got busy and hadn't played in months.
Well, earlier this week I logged in, and discovered my old character etc
had been deleted. That was fine, so I created a new version of Kira, but
found a problem in Sryth.
After creating Kira I immediately wanted to head south to Dernsig or
whatever the name of that town is and found the game no longer allows
this. In fact, under the travel section all I find is travel to the
caves of Westwold or to some new cursed graveyard I haven't seen before.
How can I leave Hawklor to get out of town and do some of the other
things I want to do out of the area like before?

Hello Folks,
If you have not already heard, Debbie Scales, moderator of the JFWLite
group and the JFWLite web site, passed away early this morning. The web
site has since been closed, and her husband's e-mail address is listed on
the web site's closing message. For those of you who benefited from the
group and web site's scripts and services, it would be nice for you to drop
him a note.

She contributed much valued work and helping many around the world with her
site and her list and will most certainly be missed.

 Hi Folks,
This is off topic but so great I couldn't resist posting it.
 If you're using Jjaws 7.1, YOU'LL FIND
A NEW FEATURE AVAILABLE TO YOU. IF you want to reply directly to the
 sender
of any message, just press insert+shift+r. This action will cause your
reply to be sent directly to the original sender as opposed to the group.
 JFW says,
 Replying directly to sender.
then it puts the sender's email address into your clipboard and pastes it
 into the to field.
If you did it on this message instead of the to field saying,
 Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org
 it would say,
 Phil Vlasak [EMAIL PROTECTED]

 Now back to game discussions.

I've noticed the Emails being sent asking how to do stuff when playing
Tom's newest demo. People want cheats and hints and tricks already, and
it has been available for, um, how? long?? Part of the fun of a game is
figuring out the game, isn't it?? Think about it--if you were given a
file that told you, step by step, how to beat the game when you first
bought it, and you used that file to beat the game enough times that you
could, figuratively speaking, beat it blindfolded, what would you then do
with the game? Here's an idea for Tom: Create just such a file.
Explain, step by step, how to beat the game, level by level. Each level
is a separate file, and can be purchased for, well, that would be up to
Tom, wouldn't it? How many people would buy it?

 Hi,
My first idea with cheat codes came with I believe it was Nintendo's
game genie, which yah it gave you cheat codes, infinite enemy hits, and so
forth, but it also unlocked other parts of the game where you wouldn't
 have
been able to get to normally.

I've noticed the Emails being sent asking how to do stuff when playing
Tom's newest demo. People want cheats and hints and tricks already, and
it has been available for, um, how? long?? Part of the fun of a game is
figuring out the game, isn't it?? Think about it--if you were given a
file that told you, step by step, how to beat the game when you first
bought it, and you used that file to beat the game enough times that you
could, figuratively speaking, beat it blindfolded, what would you then
 do
with the game? Here's an idea for Tom: Create just such a file.
Explain, step by step, how to beat the game, level by level. Each level
is a separate file, and can be purchased for, well, that would be up to
Tom, wouldn't it? How many people would buy it?

 Hi, Matt.
I don't think Charles was so much aposing that cheats are out there, but
the fact many people don't even try the game out fully before looking
 for cheets.
Yeah, no doubts cheets can be fun, and help you find things in a game
you didn't know was there hidden levels, etc. However, they also can
take away from a games experience as well.
For example say you find an invincible cheet for game x. Ok, you can mo
down all enemies etc, but then what is the point if you don't try. all
you do is blow up everything, get treasure, and didn't even try. Kind of
 lazy really.

Re: [Audyssey] What's ahead for Montezuma's Revenge.

2006-05-22 Thread matt
Hello Thomas and all. First of all it sounds like you are going to have one
hell of a game. Second I wouldn't put him back in the game. I think what you
want to do is a unique idea. I guess it would kind of mesh Monty and tomb
raider being that series had a cool female character. I wonder how possible
it would be to put both characters in and give the player the choice of
which one they wanted to play? Just for the die hard players who want the
true original? Later, Matt

 Hi, listers.
Many of you are wondering about details on the new Montezuma's Revenge.
So here is what is currently happening with Monty.
 * As of the latest build, 5/22/2006, Monty now has one of the highest
quality sounding environments of any accessible game on the market. It
sounds so real it sounds almost as good as a dvd or like you are in a
movie. I guess it has to be heard to be believed.
 * Some bugs have just been fixed such as the game having slow
proformence while moving the game character such as walking, jumping,
 climbing, etc.
 * Joystick and game support is now fully apart of the game. Some issues
remain with the functionality, but I am working towards addressing that
soon. As well as a built in joystick button mapper so that you may map
 your joystick for your preference.
 * Temple 2 is now in the works. Once I am done with temple 2, and I am
sure everything is stable to test I will post Alpha 1 for release.
Which means we could have a release by June to play with. All depends on
how much time it takes tracking down the current issues.
Finally a question. I have had a few requests on the directed to USA
Games sales asking us to put Arazona Smith back in to the game. Anyone
else agree with this, apose this, or don't care? Send us your thoughts.
 Smile.

I have tried playing the sudoku game on audiogames.net but I can't seem to

called installed, and I get the intro with sam talking to me about the
power of sudoku, then, I hear the music that I assume plays when the games
starts, but there is nothing. When I move around the screen, There is
nothing to click on to play, anything I do click on, takes me back to the
explination on how to play, or the forem for the game, but I still can't
play. Any help would be appreciated. smiles thank you so much in

 Hi Folks,
Someone who hates blind people has been trying to bring down the Blind
 Cool

creature is trying to do the same for game sites.
I noticed that J. J. Meddaugh's The Zone BBS Games site has been having
 the
same problems tht the BCT site has had.
He has been sending 2,000 to 4,000 requests or e-mails a minute to try to
 bring their servers down.
My wife tried to get onto the Zone BBS Games site but could not get on due
 to this problem.

I hope this will not happen to other blind game servers but it is
 possible.
The blind cool tech list was on freelists but that could not take the
hammering, so it went to a private server which is now crashing, so the
 list
is now moving to Yahoo groups.
I wonder if Yahoo groups will appreciate the 4,000 messages a minute
 attack.
 sincerely,

Harry Potter Scene It coming to Video On Demand

PHILADELPHIA and SEATTLE, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Corporation,
the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications
products and services, and Screenlife, LLC, creator of the world's
top-selling board game, Scene It? The DVD Game(TM), today announced an
agreement to develop customized Video On Demand (VOD) versions of the
popular movie and TV trivia games.

Comcast and Screenlife began offering VOD versions of the wildly popular
trivia games for the whole family, including movie, TV, James Bond and Jr.
editions, earlier this year on the cable provider's ON DEMAND service,
which has generated more than two billion program views since 2004. Since
launching in February, the Scene It? interactive games have quickly become
one of the most-popular original programs on Comcast ON DEMAND and have
already put thousands of customers' trivia knowledge to the test.

This week, the companies will debut a special Harry Potter-themed edition
based on the successful Screenlife board game that coincides with the VOD
premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Comcast ON DEMAND,
marking the first simultaneous release of an on-demand movie and a
 Screenlife on-demand game.

Wizards-in-training looking to test their Harry Potter knowledge can trade
their wands for their remote control beginning April 21. Comcast Digital
Cable customers can select the Harry Potter edition of Scene It? On Demand
in the Free Movies section of the ON DEMAND menu - there's no additional
charge to play, and no boards or game pieces are necessary. Based on the
popular DVD games - one of the fastest-growing categories in the game
industry - players compete by answering a series of fast-paced questions
based on video clips, images and visual puzzles.

Scene It? On Demand gives our customers a fun, new way to test their
trivia skills anytime they want, and is something they can't find with
satellite or other providers, said Matt Strauss, Vice President of
Content Acquisition for Comcast. Our partnership with Screenlife gives us
a unique way to introduce movie and television fans to our extensive VOD
library through an engaging, visual, interactive game.

As the leader of the DVD game industry, Screenlife is working to broaden
its presence in new entertainment platforms, said Dave Long, Co-founder
and CEO of Screenlife. Partnering with Comcast is a great way to offer
interactive, family friendly entertainment to customers anytime they want
 to play.

Launched in 2002, Scene It? is the original DVD game. Today, the pop-
culture phenomenon is the top-selling DVD board game of all time, selling
ten million games and commanding nearly 75 percent of the entire DVD game
marketplace. The popularity of the Scene It? brand, which generates more
than $200 million in annual sales, is widely credited with reviving the
 board game industry.
Scene It? On Demand trivia games are available on The Fan(TM), Comcast's
innovative multimedia broadband player on www.comcast.net. Comcast and
Screenlife plan to introduce dozens of additional Scene It? On Demand
 games in the coming months.

Comcast offers more than 7,000 ON DEMAND programs a month, with the vast
majority available for no additional cost. Comcast's ON DEMAND library
includes more than 800 movies each month, music videos and programs, kids'
shows, sports highlights, news and informational programs.

 Hi Ryan,

In case you hadn't seen it, Version 3 of my NFL football game came out
last December. One of it's new features is that you can change the names
of the players on your team.

Also there is a new version of Top Speed out. With it you can race
against others over the net as well as create your own cars and tracks.
I'm sorry, but I don't have the web site address for that right handy.

If there are, they would be available on the site.

Offhand, I don't recall what it is, though.

Hey listers, I was wondering if there are any other categories for the
freedom millionaire? Joseph was kind enough to send me the millionaire
game along with the teenage mutant ninja turtle file. bBut I was
 wondering
if there are any other files to go along with this game? Thanks,

It is what you use to connect to the mud world. It is just the program that
allows you to open the mud as it were like microsoft word opens up word
documents.

I am not sure what is meant by a mud client? Could anyone explain this
 further?
 Thanks for the help

Well, the mud has no website, but the link to connect when you get a mud
  client once again is
  assault.wolfpaw.net 6600

Hope this helps, at least somewhat.

 Hi matt and Ron,
I think I understand but am still a little fuzzy. When is something like
this necessary? Can you give an example?
If I go to the website and follow their directions on creating a
 character,
do I still need a mud client? Or does the client just help me connect
easier? I really appreciate all the help.

 Rich

  Hi Rich

A mud client is a program such as teraterm or gmud used to connect to
 the
game server. Most work pretty good with JFW. I personally use Gmud32.
It's pretty easy to set up and once you get the hang of it easy to use.

yes true Thomas but if you know what the game sounds are which people will

I personally, like having both. The actual sound of picking up
something, and the game announcing what was found.

Yeh, maybe an option for the anouncement can make a difference to some
people, but I don't mind at all. Played sod since its creation and
 although
the anouncements is needed there because the object locator doesn't make
different sounds for different objects, it never felt like too much info
 for
 me.
Keep up the good work and know that I'm backing you all the way.

Well not necessarily. You can set up cues on Ventrilo for specific

Another reason why ventrillo is not the best option at least in regards
 to
www.for-the-people.com is on there only one person can speak at a time.
 In
ventrillo anyone can talk over anyone and it gets confusing. Also for All
 In
Play members who do not know this they have ask questions sessions on
 certain Saturdays. Later, Matt

David. I'll answer your three questions in one email instead of three
 emails. smile.

 1. What we are talking about is voice chat services offered by different
sites. All of them have been mentioned here on the list. I'll list them
 here though.

 http://www.for-the-people.com
 http://www.audio-tips.com

There are many others but the gamers chat has been held at For The
 People forever it seems.

Why not Ventrilo? Well, not everyone who attends voice chat places is
comfortable in using Ventrilo. They want something easier. Both these
sites are a bit easier than Ventrilo for some.

 Hope this helps.
