I usually extract the files and then run setup. I then deploy the distrib on all systems, its a network of 3 p2p systems. All running various flavors of xp. Hi Shaun, Well, the extractor I suppose to launch the setup, but in some cases it doesn't always work. Extracting the file and running dxsetup as you do is the safest way. although, I think I am going to switch to the hweb installer since I know folks will be getting the latest which is October 2006. shaun everiss wrote: > the directs exe file is the redestributable package. > I usually extract the files and back them up as extracted. > The weird thing I am miffed about is why ms did not have the sfx extract and > install itself, mediaplayer is a load of sfx file inside an sfx and it > autoinstalls. > I usually extract the files then delete the extracter because the extracter > only extracts files. > At 03:23 PM 12/5/2006, Bryan Peterson wrote: > >> Thanks to dark, the STFC error problem now has a solution, and what a simple >> one it is. Re: [Audyssey] Here's our sign...
Hi, To get the bleeding edge DirectX releases visit microsoft.com/directx. As I said in a prier post already Microsoft usually releases a new version on a two to three month cycle and so there have been several updates to DirectX 9.0C since it's initial release. Re: [Audyssey] Here's our sign...
Oh great. wonder if this is why I've been having problems with some other games? Ok. does anyone know where I can obtain the latest version of direct X? Also what happens if I have already installed direct X, and try installing over it? I'm not even sure if I have it installed correctly. - For an amazing video gaming site containing original soundtracks, game art, etc, go here. http://gh.ffshrine.org?r=16426 - Original Message - From: "Bryan Peterson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, December 04, 2006 9:23 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Here's our sign... > Thanks to dark, the STFC error problem now has a solution, and what a > simple one it is. Re: [Audyssey] Here's our sign...
the directs exe file is the redestributable package. I usually extract the files and back them up as extracted. The weird thing I am miffed about is why ms did not have the sfx extract and install itself, mediaplayer is a load of sfx file inside an sfx and it autoinstalls. I usually extract the files then delete the extracter because the extracter only extracts files. Thanks to dark, the STFC error problem now has a solution, and what a simple one it is. If Thomas or anyone had any of Bill Engvall's famous signs to hand out, I'm sure a lot of us would be wearing them. It seems that when you download the DirectX file and run it, you aren't exactly installing the program. You must then go to wherever you extracted the files to and run the Dxsetup executable. Then, and only then, will the program be installed. Out of desperation I tried this and, needless to say, it worked. So I'm off to boldly go where no man has gone...well you know. The point is Dark was right, so he should be the one to hand out those signs I mentioned... It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go. J.D.
