Re: [Audyssey] Thoughts on Puppy1

Hi Charles,

Yeah ah ha, having players throwing up on the keyboard could certainly make
Puppy1 tougher and more interesting. I could also tell them information
that they don't want to know so that they are as confused as Sergeant Shultz.

Thanks for the ideas.

Hi Thomas,

I really did not have any specific ear in mind. I just used the sounds that I
could find that sounded good to me and worked in the game. I am pretty sure
that I have mixed WW I biplanes, WW II bombers and more modern planes such as a
Cessna or Piper Cub. And of course I did not want to pick on any specific
country as the enemy so I used a recorded sapi4 Brutus voice for the enemy. I
just always loved the comity of Hogan's heros, which by the way coincidentally
is back on TV Land. Of course the show and theme song just brings air battle
to mind for me.

UFO's are real. The Air Force doesn't exist.

Making gamers seasick will make the game harder, as recovery could be a
distraction. (grin) And, yes, I immediately recognized the theme. I am
not like Sergeant Shultz, who knows nuh? thing??, nuh? thing??

Hi,
Yep, I recognized it was Hogan's Heroes right off. another good choice
for theme music would be Black Sheep Squadron. Though, I think your
intent is WW I not WW II?

Hi Charles,

Thank you very much. You do know that it is the theme song from Hogan's Heroes
right? It was of course a mono sound file and I gave it a Gold Wave wobble
effect. I then had to straighten it out and cut the size of it because it was
making me and others sea sick.

I forgot to mention that I like the opening music, although I wish it had
been longer. The way it moves quickly from left to right and back is sort
of cool.

So far I'm addicted. I agree with Thomas. It reminds me of a lot of the old
Atari plane games. But I particularly like Fighter Pilot Homer. Nothing quite
like hearing him scream when he gets shot down or his joyful Woohoo after he
shoots down a plane. And the SFX are pretty cool as well.
