Hi Lindsay. Storm8 are a number of different games (or some would say different mods of the same game), for the iPhone. some you play as a newly risen vampire or zombie, in kingdoms you have a fantasy character, in world war your controlling a warring nation's military etc. The basic idea of the games is to build structures that give you a resource each hour, money, blood, flesh, gold etc, then use that to both buy more buildings, or also abilities in various catagories to defend yourself. In all the games You can attack other players, (how often dictated by various hourly refilling stats), and form into clans or hoards or tribes or whatever to increase your over all stats, and in some games you can do missions. My own personal major problem with the games however is all of these are fairly numerical activities. The missions are just a button saying patrol the park, costs 10 energy and recieve 20 blood in the vampire game for instance, and you push and get. Likewise the attacks are just literally just push attack and your done, win or loss. While the prices and currency producing capabilities of your buildings vary, and you need to calculate economically which is best, for me at least this just didn't give enough interest to the actual game, I myself wanted far more atmosphere and story than just a button and some numbers and a couple of sounds. Different people of course prefer the games, I know Raul for instance gets very deep into the economics of them, which is fair enough if that's your interest. Since however all the games are free (you can pay cash for various real world rewards but can try the games for nothing), I suggest downloading one and giving it a go. Raul's podcasts are also worth a listen too, as they give some good information about how to play the games, and likewise, Zobmies live, Vampires live and I mobsters all have entries on audiogames.net which I've tried to make informative. hth.
