2009-04-18 Thread Robert Montowski

Hello there,
I am the one trying to make a talking Deal or No Deal.
The project was put on hold as it is now spring and I have a home that I
need to spruce up...new windows/flooring and the like.

also will be tilling my garden to get my flowers and veggies in.
Most of the work I have done so far was audio editing sound bits from the TV
show to put into the game.

this work was alot harder than I originally prepared for.
this unfortunately takes alot of my free time for programming away...sorry.

Hello there,
the Deal or No Deal that I have is the Visual Basic 6 source code for the
game.

The game appears to be the british version with their unit of currency.
it is playable witht he Jaws cursor, but really needs to be redone for a
blind user to have full use of the game.
I am still digitizing bits of dialogue from the TV show to incorporate into
the game.

this is taking longer than I planned on.
Sorry

Hi Charles,

Marcie helped me with the Snakes and Ladders game, so her name is on that game.
Battleship was the first game that I worked on after she passed away, so I put
her name on it. I used the voice files of her's from Pong and also put them in
the Simon game. She is also one of the batters in my baseball game.

Hi Charles,

No, I don't think that this game will necessarily be a tribute to Marcie. It
is just that I got the name for it from the figurine that she had bought for
me. However since the time that Marcie passed away, I have put her voice in a
game, her name on a game, her name in a game and specially designed the MLB
Memorial golf course. Of course her name was on other games and her voice in
an other game before when she helped me with them.

Hi,

It would be cool to have a deal or no deal game as a kitchen's inc game.
here are the rules for it. Only difference being might as well just use
American dollars.

Deal or No Deal involves a contestant, a host/presenter, a banker, and a
number of briefcases (or boxes), with each having a different (and initially
unknown)
value. Each game starts with the contestant selecting one of the cases-this
first case's value is not known until the game ends. During the rest of the
game, the contestant opens the rest of the cases, one at a time, revealing
its value. Each time after a specified number of cases are opened, the
banker
offers the contestant a certain amount of money to end the game. If the
contestant takes an offer, the game ends, otherwise the contestant ends up
with
the money from the first case.

Since the range of possible values for cases is known at the start of each
game, how much the banker offers at any given point changes based on what
cases
have been eliminated. To promote
suspense
and lengthen games, the banker's offer usually strays from the
expected value
 dictated by
probability theory
, particularly early in the game.
[1]
However it is not uncommon for the bank's offer to exceed the player's
expected value very late in the game.[citation needed]

Worldwide, the largest amount offer (in terms of exchange rates) was
?1,495,000 on the original Miljoenenjacht, on November 13, 2005 (which was
accepted;
the contestant's case only had ?1,000).[citation needed]
Only a few people have ever won the top prize on any version of the show.

That's pretty cool that you found VB6 code for a Deal Or No Deal game. So do
you plan to tweak the code to make it more blind accessible?

As I mentioned, I do not plan at this time to work on a Deal Or No Deal game.
Inspiration has already struck me big time and I have gotten a pretty good
start on a new game. The title of the game comes from a really cool figurine

It was more geared to a sighted person in its interface, and the code was

The money amounts were in british pounds.
but it did work quite nice, and will work better with a blind person

It would really shine if we can get some audio bits from the real show to

[Audyssey] deal or no deal

2007-09-19 Thread Josh

2007-09-19 Thread Robert Montowski
Hello there,
I belong to a web site that deals with programming code.
it is called
http://www.planet-source-code.com

one of the most interesting files I downloaded frm this site a short time
back was a visual basic 6 version of deal or no deal.
It was more geared to a sighted person in its interface, and the code was
for a british version of deal or no deal.
The money amounts were in british pounds.
but it did work quite nice, and will work better with a blind person
tweaking the code.
It would really shine if we can get some audio bits from the real show to
mix into the game.

 Hi,
after all, Shades of Doom is not that complex, at least in the first
 levels.
The Treasure Hunt's maze opens wide right on you and surprises you since
 the
very beginning and yes, I believe that it can be quite difficult to move
around it and not get lost when you had not learned it yet. And especially
to determine where to go at all. Once you know it though, it's pretty
 simple.
Shades of doom is not that strict to beginners. In fact, there is just one
single way to follow at the start, and you virtually cannot get lost in
 area
 1.
All those complex games as you say are all about imagination, courage and
experimenting. Just feel free to give it some time and don't be scared
 that
you could ke killed or lost. After all, it's just a game in the first
 place,
so theres nothing easier than to give it another try and perhaps be more
 successful this time. :-)
Anyway, could you describe your problem a bit more accurately? Currently,
 I
can't see what could possibly trouble you, or maybe I'm just unable to
imagine how to help you at first.
 Take care,
 Lukas

ya know? i really really don't understand how people can play these games
such as shades of doom, technoshock, treasure hunt, etc. i just don't
 know
where to start on games like this. i feel i'm missing out on what could
 be
 a few rather entertaining games.
how do you guys know where to go? how do you know what to do? you read
 the
docs and it only really tells you the scene, not where to go or anything.

 damien

I have acquired the blade of the fox recently and have my weaponry and
weaponry slashing skills up to 50. (the expert level)
Once I got the Blade of the Fox I was able to kill off the knights
quicker. I also like the new special attack system. I have 21 more rounds
with those knights. I just acquired the Ring of the Serpent.
Thank you guys for the help.

Erm sorry wrote that in a hurry. You have to have some sited assistance to
play, but the game itself says everything. My gf picked it up at walmart,
 so
if you've got someone who'd play it with you you might think of investing
 $17 for it
 Sorry for confusion
