Hi, Just use e and r. it will cycle through the job types. Also, while using E and R, you come to a group called Total. Have you given any thought to making hotkeys for changing job types Jeremy? later in the game, when there are a lot of jobs to choose from, it seems like I spend most my time hitting A or S. keys such as control shift 1 through 0 are a possibility, though that brings up its own set of issues. what might work as well is a mode where you chose the job, so you can type the first letter of the job you want to change to. finally, with mouse support, one could rip through the various job types quickly as well. I think one problem I have here as well is that being locked to SAPI and this crappy Microsoft Anna voice, there is a delay each time a new job is spoken, and those delays add up when I have to cycle through several jobs to get to the one I want. I'm running win 7 on a 64 bit machine, but I still have to kill the game from time to time and restart because the delays get to be too long. In other words: please please give us Jaws. I'm not opposed to hot keys at all, I just haven't thought up a good way of arranging the keys. If someone would like to suggest a specific key layout for speeding up job selection, please do! We could then get people's opinions on it, and I'll code it in. I rarely turn down people's suggestions, I just get overwhelmed by so many, sometimes, that I don't end up getting to everyone, and I'm sure some people think I actually had just decided I didn't like it. For as many posts as I receive on the list, I get just as many on klango, audiogames, and my personal email, so I never intend to overlook anyone, but it is bound to happen from time to time. I still haven't found the time to figure the Jaws stuff out. The documentation I have had people send to me, is rather incomplete and vague. I hate to suggest it, since people should be able to use whatever screen reader they are happy with, but have you considered using NVDA if only while playing castaways? This is the screen reader I personally use, when testing, so I know it works very well with it.
