Re: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

2013-01-16 Thread Ibrahim Gucukoglu

Hi Steve.

These questions would be better served on one of the many different Apple
mailing lists which discuss the IPhone and related functions. I am on a few
such lists including BlindApples hosted by Yahoo, you can find a selection
at www.whitestick.co.uk.

All the best and i hope the mods don't think this forward of me.

Subject: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

Hi Everyone,
I am a fairly new iPhone user. I have a few questions about AppleVis
Okay here's my first question.
On AppleVis When I go to download a game do I have to have my iPhone Plugged
into the computer?
If not how do I download a game?
Next question today I tried to download a pod cast on AppleVis I was
unable to do so
Just because a podcast is on the website does that mean it is available for
download?
Thank you anybody who is available to answer my questions.
Regards,
Steve Cullen

Re: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

2013-01-16 Thread Michael Taboada

Hi,
There's a couple ways to download apps that are linked on apple vis. The
easiest and what I usually do is to find the name, it's the title of the
article or something like that, then type that into the search field in the
app store. Another way is to go to applevis on your iPhone and click the
link, that will automatically open the app store with the app page.

Hth,
-Michael.

Re: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

2013-01-16 Thread dark

Hi steve.

Well links to the ap store are tricky things since they only tend to work
for your given country if they are links to your country's ap store. This is
why I've decided not to have them on audiogames.net. to find games and aps,
ylur best off just searching the ap store itself by inputting the name.

As to podcasts, well the ones I tried were just standard mp3 podcasts that
you could pretty much download or stream with any old music player the same
you'd do any other music or audio off the net, I used winamp myself, so just
pick your poison.

Hth.

Beware the grue!

Re: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

2013-01-16 Thread Draconis Entertainment

Just want to clear up some of the confusion/misinfo here.

In general, the only reason a link to an app in the App Store would not work in
your country is if the app itself is not sold in your country. Otherwise, App
Store links work across incarnations of the App Store.

If you click a link to an iOS app from your Mac or PC, it will, depending on
configuration, open in the web browser with an option to view the app in
iTunes, where you can then purchase the app and sync it to your iOS device. If
you click the link on your iPhone/iPd/iPod, it will launch the AppStore app and
display the info for the app in question.

For Mac App Store links, the process is essentially identical.

Hope this helps.

Re: [Audyssey] questions about AppleVis

2013-01-16 Thread Dallas O'Brien
hi.
On AppleVis When I go to download a game do I have to have my iPhone Plugged
 into the computer?
answer, no you don't. these devices are able to do most of the functions they
are capable of without plugging in. so no. you can download apps without
plugging in.

Next question today I tried to download a pod cast on AppleVis I was
 unable to do so
Just because a podcast is on the website does that mean it is available for
 download?

answer, this one is a little complex. yes, in simple terms, if its on the site,
its able to be downloaded / listened to. how ever, when browsing with a device
running IOS, you can't actually download it, unless you have an app that lets
you store the file in, like a file manager. how ever, if you tap it, you will
be aloud to stream it live from the site, so you can still listen to it right
from the site. it will open up a screen with a done button, that will stop the
stream completely, and a group of controls to let you handle the file as it
streams.
i hope this helps. do feel free to message me off list if you wish me to help
you with other things in relation to your IOS device.

best regards:
dallas
