[gatortalk] Alabama jumping us in some of the polls

2009-10-18 Thread keith

Alabama jumped us in the Sagarin ratings, AP, Massey Ratings,

Since we should play Alabama - it does not matter - except that if we were to fall a couple of positions down - by beating Alabama would rise us up a few notches.  If we beat Alabama and were undefeated - then we would be a  favorite in the BCS game.

That's for sure. I thought about Bert several times during yesterday's game.
It was a hard fought game on both sides, and I'm just glad it didn't last a few
more minutes or the outcome could have been different!

  Bert,

I have to confess that I did not believe Arkansas had yet made it back to the
big leagues. I thought (and perhaps still do) that firing Houston was a poor
idea and hiring Petrino was an even worse idea. I am wavering now. He had the
Piggies playing very good defense and hitting hard.

Clearly injuries played a big part in both teams.

I thought that there were several poor and missed calls both ways.

Congratulations on a hard fought game. You can be proud of their effort.

  Jerry

Unfortunately, I can't make that same claim, Woody, having sat through many a

No voice today!

After the Troy game my freshman son declined my offer to take him out
to eat after the game.

We left Melbourne at 5:30 yesterday morning so that we could get a
choice tailgating spot. We ended up being the first vehicle in the area, by
Lake Alice, directly across from the bat house. Since we were playing the Hogs,
Shane and I had decided to have ribs for the tailgate lunch entree and the
grill was going by 8:30.

After marching band rehearsal Shane joined us at the tailgate and let
us know that he'd like to go out to eat with us after the game! Since we
haven't seen much of him this fall there was no way him mom would have let me
off of that hook. So, after Shane's post game band obligations, and navigating
brutal on campus traffic. we finally ate , then left Gainesville at 10:30PM -
what a long day.

Hey - it was ugly, but ask Ohio State if they'd have taken an ugly win!

[gatortalk] Re: 3rd and 9 .... nobody is open, what does a senior QB do?

2009-10-18 Thread Steve McKibben
No voice today!

After the Troy game my freshman son declined my offer to take him out to eat
after the game.

We left Melbourne at 5:30 yesterday morning so that we could get a choice
tailgating spot. We ended up being the first vehicle in the area, by Lake
Alice, directly across from the bat house. Since we were playing the Hogs,
Shane and I had decided to have ribs for the tailgate lunch entree and the
grill was going by 8:30.

After marching band rehearsal Shane joined us at the tailgate and let us know
that he'd like to go out to eat with us after the game! Since we haven't seen
much of him this fall there was no way him mom would have let me off of that
hook. So, after Shane's post game band obligations, and navigating brutal on
campus traffic. we finally ate , then left Gainesville at 10:30PM - what a long
day.

Hey - it was ugly, but ask Ohio State if they'd have taken an ugly win!

It was painful to be there. My stomach was in knots the whole game. When it was
over, my legs felt weak. At least at home, I can pace the floor.

[gatortalk] Congratulations to Bert and the Piggies!

2009-10-18 Thread Jerry Belloit
Bert,

I have to confess that I did not believe Arkansas had yet made it back to
the big leagues. I thought (and perhaps still do) that firing Houston was a
poor idea and hiring Petrino was an even worse idea. I am wavering now. He
had the Piggies playing very good defense and hitting hard.

Clearly injuries played a big part in both teams.

I thought that there were several poor and missed calls both ways.

Congratulations on a hard fought game. You can be proud of their effort.

Jerry
