Leon, I thought we had moved past this, but apparently not.
 
I tracked down the article in question on the internet 
(http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/stodapop/2010/02/25/tim-tebow-has-no-gripe-with-the-gators/),
 and you are correct. The comments DO appear to have been made by Greg Stoda 
and not one of his readers.
 
That still doesn’t entitle you or anyone else to insert a crude reference to a 
father “pimping” his daughter REGARDLESS if he just happens to be from the 
“other side of the aisle”. The rule of no politics on Gatortalk was made long 
ago and you and I were both here when it was done. There was a good reason for 
it then, and there is STILL a good reason for it now.
 
For the record, if ANYONE sees something in a Gatornews article that even 
remotely sounds like a political statement (and in my opinion, Greg’s statement 
was not), just let it go. Just forget you ever read it unless you want to 
subscribe to THFGT and comment on it there.
 
By the way, I’m sure Paula could shoot my lights out on a basketball court, but 
I bet I could beat her in a motorcycle race. ;-)

Here's exactly what I saw on my computer screen received from Gatornews.  I see 
no clue at all that the final two sections are comments from readers.  Randy, I 
still believe they are reports/comments from Greg Stoda and I certainly replied 
to them accordingly.  If you feel I need to be punished in some way, so be it. 
I initiated no political comment on Gatortalk at all.  As a matter of fact, I 
thought I was making light of Greg's report, although Paula can still out-shoot 
you in basketball.  :)
 
Tim Tebow has no gripe with the Florida Gators

The bashing of Tim Tebow continues unabated, which is fine … to a point.
The NFL mavens who are paid to know such things mostly agree that Tebow doesn’t 
have what it takes — a proper throwing motion, most notably — to cut it as a 
quarterback in the league. My observations of Tebow over the years puts me in 
agreement with the NFL folks on that particular matter.
Now, however, has come speculation that the coaching staff at Florida somehow 
did Tebow a disservice by not preparing him properly for a possible career as a 
pro quarterback.
What?!?!

That wasn’t Urban Meyer’s job.
Nor was it any offensive coordinator’s jor or any quarterback coach’s job, and, 
no, that doesn’t mean Tebow was used by the Gators.
Were the coaches supposed to work on changing Tebow’s long wind-up motion to 
the possible benefit of some pro team at the cost of reducing his value to the 
team for which he happened to be playing? The national championship and Heisman 
Trophy stuff wasn’t good enough?
It’s ridiculous to suggest it somehow was UF’s responsibility to change Tebow’s 
style. The Gators would have been sabotaging their own goals had they tried to 
transform Tebow into an under-the-center, drop-back quarterback when he did his 
best work running and, yes, passing out of the shotgun.
And all Tebow has to show for it is one of the most famous playing careers in 
college history. He didn’t get short-changed, and would come across as a whiny 
ingrate were to say the Gators didn’t do right by him.
Did the Gators benefit more from Tebow than Tebow benefited from the Gators?
Almo$t certainly $o.
Hardly, though, should anyone think Tebow came away from the four-year stay at 
UF with reason to complain about anything, and that includes NFL prep work or 
lack thereof.

Saw where Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) would like to take his Boston College 
basketball-playing daughter Ayla to the White House or anywhere else anytime

Sounds like a swell idea in the name of bipartisanship. A little gridlock in 
the lane beats all the gridlock in government.
And perhaps Vice President Joe Biden could go to his home state of Delaware and 
persuade Blue Hen star Elena Delle Donne, she late of UConn, to team with the 
prez vs. Brown and Brown.

Bad game all around.  The refs were terrible, didn't cost us the game, but
they were terribly inconsistent.  The team wasn't ready for this game and
that is unfortunate, this a win against Vandy and 2 in the tournament
would've moved us up to a 7 seed in the tourney.  Now we are probably
looking at a 9 or 10.  This is a bad loss, I don't care that Ugh plays well
at home, we should have destroyed them, but had no heart.

 

At this point, I am hoping to be the 4 seed in the SEC tourney, that way we
won't be in UKs bracket until the championship game.

 

Let's go, Beat Vandy!

Here's exactly what I saw on my computer screen received from Gatornews.  I see 
no clue at all that the final two sections are comments from readers.  Randy, I 
still believe they are reports/comments from Greg Stoda and I certainly replied 
to them accordingly.  If you feel I need to be punished in some way, so be it. 
I initiated no political comment on Gatortalk at all.  As a matter of fact, I 
thought I was making light of Greg's report, although Paula can still out-shoot 
you in basketball.  :)
 
Tim Tebow has no gripe with the Florida Gators

The bashing of Tim Tebow continues unabated, which is fine … to a point.
The NFL mavens who are paid to know such things mostly agree that Tebow doesn’t 
have what it takes — a proper throwing motion, most notably — to cut it as a 
quarterback in the league. My observations of Tebow over the years puts me in 
agreement with the NFL folks on that particular matter.
Now, however, has come speculation that the coaching staff at Florida somehow 
did Tebow a disservice by not preparing him properly for a possible career as a 
pro quarterback.
What?!?!

That wasn’t Urban Meyer’s job.
Nor was it any offensive coordinator’s jor or any quarterback coach’s job, and, 
no, that doesn’t mean Tebow was used by the Gators.
Were the coaches supposed to work on changing Tebow’s long wind-up motion to 
the possible benefit of some pro team at the cost of reducing his value to the 
team for which he happened to be playing? The national championship and Heisman 
Trophy stuff wasn’t good enough?
It’s ridiculous to suggest it somehow was UF’s responsibility to change Tebow’s 
style. The Gators would have been sabotaging their own goals had they tried to 
transform Tebow into an under-the-center, drop-back quarterback when he did his 
best work running and, yes, passing out of the shotgun.
And all Tebow has to show for it is one of the most famous playing careers in 
college history. He didn’t get short-changed, and would come across as a whiny 
ingrate were to say the Gators didn’t do right by him.
Did the Gators benefit more from Tebow than Tebow benefited from the Gators?
Almo$t certainly $o.
Hardly, though, should anyone think Tebow came away from the four-year stay at 
UF with reason to complain about anything, and that includes NFL prep work or 
lack thereof.

Saw where Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) would like to take his Boston College 
basketball-playing daughter Ayla to the White House or anywhere else anytime

Sounds like a swell idea in the name of bipartisanship. A little gridlock in 
the lane beats all the gridlock in government.
And perhaps Vice President Joe Biden could go to his home state of Delaware and 
persuade Blue Hen star Elena Delle Donne, she late of UConn, to team with the 
prez vs. Brown and Brown.

I just flew from Tampa to Raleigh, NC and got lucky!  The brand new ladies lacrosse team was on the same flight.  They are playing UNC tommorrow.  
 
They had really nice warm ups, sweat pants and jackets, shirts, backpacks, huge lacrosse bags, - really, really nice.  I was so jealous.  
 
I minded my Ps and Qs.  Doesn't lacrosse involve swinging big sticks around wildly?  I don't need any part of that ...

Since we have over 300 members of Gatortalk and only one person who can't
seem to abide by the rules, it would be punishing the wrong people who work
every day to get those news articles to us if you asked them to further edit
them before posting.  Rather, punish the one.

Those comments were not part of the article. They were comments made by a
reader of the "Tim Tebow has no gripe with the Florida Gators" article by
Greg Stoda. Normally, it's interesting to read some of the comments, but
maybe we need to get our reporters to strip those before posting the
article.

with proceeds going to relief efforts in Haiti.

Sounds like a swell idea in the name of bipartisanship. A little gridlock in
the lane beats all the gridlock in government.

And perhaps Vice President Joe Biden could go to his home state of Delaware
and persuade Blue Hen star Elena Delle Donne, she late of UConn, to team
with the prez vs. Brown and Brown.
