My favorite Muschamp line of the night was this: he was talking about our
new (walk-on) punter, who evidently was having a bit of a problem with the snap
when he was practicing in front of the coach. The kid said, "Coach, I get
nervous when you're around," and Muschamp said, "Well, you better get used to
it, because I'm coming to all the games."

Neal Anderson? Ricky Nattiel?

I know one thing... I wish there was a way they could take Doug Dickey out.

Some Gators who come to mind:
Danny Wuerffel, Lomas Brown, Wes Chandler, Cris Collinsworth, Ralph Ortega,

Who should be next in the Hall?

Hmm. Soft spot for David Williams, but I don't see that happening.

  Scot Brantley?

  Louis Oliver?

Well the Post got at least one detail a bit wrong. I was at the Tampa Gator
Club event, and the little old lady said "You keep saying University of
Florida is such a great place and University of Florida sells itself. Well,
if that's the case, why don't we have more talent *on the defensive and
offensive lines?**"* The question was specifically referencing Muschamp's
discussion of the lack of depth (and the fact that he was not crazy about
it) on both sides of the lines of scrimmage. Not that we didn't have enough
general talent. A small omission, but it does change the perceived tone.

I thought Coach Muschamp was tremendously personable. I actually had not
planned on getting his autograph (I was too busy winning an autographed
Earnest Graham helmet and talking to Jimmy DuBose, who was at the event).
However, a Gator club member (that I don't even know) randomly came up to me
and absolutely GUSHED about getting something signed by him and practically
INSISTED I do as much, so my sister and I decided to go ahead and do it,
especially since the line had dwindled down to about 10 or so people (at the
beginning the line had been pretty impressive). I've been to a few signings
in my time (coaches, players, etc - both pro & college) and he really went
out of his way to actually greet each person individually and engage in some
conversation. My sister said, "I don't care what you do as long as the
offense throws the ball down field more often than not," and he laughed and
said, "Oh, we'll do plenty of that - I was really disappointed at the spring
game because on that first play, Johnny had his man but we just didn't make
the connection on the opposite end. We need some work there, but we are
getting those guys ready." He could have said, "Oh, don't you worry," or
"We'll do our best" or some other throwaway line. Instead, the passion for
football just lit in his eyes - this guy loves the game. I hope he is
successful not just because he's our coach, but because I came away really,
really liking him. I can see why he's been a successful DC and
coordinator. I'd want to play for him!

My favorite Muschamp line of the night was this: he was talking about our
new (walk-on) punter, who evidently was having a bit of a problem with the
snap when he was practicing in front of the coach. The kid said, "Coach, I
get nervous when you're around," and Muschamp said, "Well, you better get
used to it, because I'm coming to all the games."

So, who do you think are the next deserving former Florida players worthy of
the College HOF?
Here's the criteria from the College Football Hall of Fame guidelines:
Some Gators who come to mind:
Danny Wuerffel, Lomas Brown, Wes Chandler, Cris Collinsworth, Ralph Ortega,
Jason Odom and Kevin Carter.
Who should be next in the Hall?

Hmm. Soft spot for David Williams, but I don't see that happening.

Scot Brantley?

Louis Oliver?
