The coaches tried to take him out of the game. He pulled back on his jersey,
saying "that's my play!"

He was great.

I was listening to it on the radio while standing in a dove field.
Yes, Ricky made that catch in the end zone over his shoulder, which makes it
even more of an accomplishment.

I came down from New York for that game. It was a thrill.

We didn't look good at all in the first half. When Kerwin came in, we thought
we might have a small chance. Keep in mind that Ricky Nattiel played the last
quarter-and-a-half with a separated shoulder.

When Auburn tried their last second FG, half of the stadium was trying to blow
the ball back away from the goal posts. It worked.

So, I'm watching UF/Auburn from '86. Bell to Nattiel at the 5 with 39 seconds
left. What a great game! Florida history made at Florida Field before it was
the Swamp.
You know the outcome. On the next play Kerwin hits Nattiel again on the fade in
the back of the end zone. Touchdown to make it 17-16 with 36 seconds left.
Gators go for TWO!!! Kerwin fades back to throw and EVERYBODY is covered.
Kerwin, who has been injured starts to run. He barely gets the ball into the
end zone to make it 18-17 Gators.
Auburn gets the ball with 36 seconds. We're penalized for excessive celebration
and they drive down to our 43! Field goal gives them the win. Field goal
missed. UF wins!!!
But, let's go back to that pass to Nattiel on the five. He makes the catch gets
one foot down then out of bounds. The announcer has to tell us college is
different from the pros. They have to get two feet, blah blah...
Next NFL game I want them to say, in the pros it's different from college, etc.
We're college football fans here!! We already know the rules. We do not care
how they do it in the pros!!
Keith, you want something to get angry about?? Closing practice? Heck no!
Let's all call the TV stations right now and tell them we're mad as hell and we
don't want to hear how they do it in the NFL!!!
Ok, I feel better now.
