city. He would even control bowel movements if he could and he surrounds
himself with his puppets to do his bidding. Proctor refuted so well every
statement that has been said against the proposal. I wish a stromg candidate

It looks like the truce between St. Augustine and the University of Florida
was short lived.

Last week, I wrote about how St. Augustine officials were upbeat a deal
could be reached
http://chalkboard.blogs.gainesville.com/2010/06/st-augustine-upbeat-on-deal
-despite-uf-opposition/ over UF's control of the city's historic
properties. But now a war of words has broken out between city residents and
Rep. Bill Proctor, the St. Augustine Republican who sponsored the
legislation putting UF in control.

Proctor was elected by the people of this district, not by the people of
Gainesville, former St. Augustine Mayor Mark Alexander told the St.
Augustine Record in a story that ran Sunday
http://beta.staugustine.com/news/local-news/2010-06-20/city-save-downtown-s
peak-out .

Alexander, owner of White Lion Restaurant and Pub in St. Augustine, said
he's started a grassroots campaign opposing UF's takeover. His comments
brought a reaction from Proctor in a guest column
http://staugustine.com/opinions/2010-06-22/guest-column-proctor-answers-cri
ticism-sunday-story-historic-properties and story
http://staugustine.com/news/local-news/2010-06-22/proctor-city-asked-law
in today's Record, in which he referenced letters from former St. Augustine
Mayor George Gardner and current Mayor Joseph Boles praising his work in
passing the legislation.

I did exactly what they asked me to do, he said.

UF officials, for their part, have shown no interest in seeking to change
the state law. In fact, UF's Board of Trustees passed a measure earlier this
month http://www.gainesville.com/article/20100612/ARTICLES/6121002
creating a direct support organization to manage the properties.

I see this kind of stuff all the time here in Tennessee. (surprise) Someone
has to go to the State Rep. and ask for help in passing a bill. Then, when
they get the bill passed they complain about it, usually about the
legislator who passed it for them.

This seems to be a hot topic in St. Augustine:

UF in control. Now the current mayor (Boles) feels the city needs to regain

plans for the old buildings may not fit in with the best interests of the
city and the important tourist industry.

What's up with this? Anyone live in St. Augustine? Looks like the mayor
doesn't like people telling him he can't tear down a 400 year old building.

It is simple as this..Boles wants to be in CONTROL of everything in the
city. He would even control bowel movements if he could and he surrounds
himself with his puppets to do his bidding. Proctor refuted so well every
statement that has been said against the proposal. I wish a stromg candidate
would run against Boles.how about the eat celery lasdy.
