g_b nudity in india?

2007-02-26 Thread Rick Carr
Hello

I'm very happy you wrote to me. I have not been to India bit hope to go one
day. I have read about gay life in India and understand it is very different
than here in the US. India seems like gay life is kept very quiet, is this
true? You may know gay life style is very open in the US, It is even more open
in Hawaii.

I will tell you more about myself. I am an artist, I love nature, gardening,
swimming, hiking, and intertaining my friends. Gardening in Hawaii can be
difficult at times, because of the warm climent and the large amount of rain
everything grows well but we also have a lot of bugs that eat your plants as
fast as they grow. But I still enjoy it. The place where I'm building my home
is very private, so I enjoy gardening and working around my house without
cloths, some of my friends also enjoy nudity, when they come to visit we are
all mostly nude. I understand nudity is not excepted in India, is this true? I
have a friend who was from Banglidish, He enjoys being nude here, he told me
there he would only be nude in his home.

I enjoy all kinds of artwork I mostly paint but I also like ceramics, I enjoy
most kinds of music except counrty western.

I hope to hear from you soon

Your friend
Rick

nudity is not accpeted in india. in fact, open display of affection like
kissing or deep necking is also virtually non existant in open and if one
does that in public, you can be sure you will collect a sizeable crowd. as for
nudity, well what i can i say... if you wanna try... be sure that it will
attract the cops and bite hungry tv crew in a matter of minutes:)

Re: g_b honeymoon travels- gay depiction

2007-02-26 Thread RAK SHAS
Hi Guys,

Myself and my boyfriend recently went to watch 'Honeymoon Travels' we didnt
have the slightest idea that it has a gay angle to it too, and were enjoying
the movie along with other members of the audience, when all of a sudden a
Husband of a couple comes out to his wife saying that he is gay. And what we
hear is stunned silence in the theatre! Eventually people start gasping and
slowly get back to their senses and the movie moves on. Similar grunts erupt
when the gay husband offers to take another man (also a newly married husband,
who has his first gay feelings when he meets this man) to the loo as he is
drunk and is feeling sick. We enjoyed the movie and also the reaction of the
crowd after the show and well yes some appreciative smiles thrown at us as we
exited the theatre hand in hand!

All in all accolades to the movie makers for depicting gays in their naturality
and not connoting them with stereotypical representations which were the norm
so far as the mainstream hindi cinema goes.

Also noteworthy is the mention of a character in the recently released
'Ekalavya' who is the Rana of an erstwhile kingdom. this character is depicted
as impotent and also portrayed in some scenes (as in where he is getting a
pedicure) as having feminine behaviour. Also notable is the tight script and
beautiful cinematography. And a continuity maintained in the form of colors and
forms throughout the movie. must watch.

Subtle representations of gay characters, different contexts, clear in their
message and for once seem natural and blend well with the movie.

do watch both.

Thanks & Regards

RAKSHAS

Vineet,

If he slept with you, and if you are a man, he is not straight, he is bi or
gay. Thats what the words traditionally mean !

The fact that you had to seduce him with tact and subtlety just means that he
did not like you right away.

Cheers

Hi Akash,
Though I have not seen the Movie HTPL, but I think you have also not seen
"My Brother Nikhil", "3 Deewaarein".
MBN was haveing a gay couple, shown in very graceful manner, while "3
Deewaarein" shown gay things happening in Indian Jail (different aspect
though).
But good to know, that HTPL is also the movie with good gesture towards
gays.
Abhay.
