The next Sunday High will feature two all-time camp classics. Both  
films are essentially queer masterpieces that crossed over to the  
mainstream and acquired cult followings, Rocky Horror through the  
midnight screenings which led to it becoming the longest running  
theatrical release in film history, Hedwig though hundreds of spin- 
off rock gigs that proliferated across the world. These are films  
about expressing your true self, no matter how flamboyant or quirky  
it may be - so get your dancing shoes on and join us for the Bombay  
Dost Cult Musical Double Bill.


Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

What do a Transylvanian transvestite, a cryogenically-preserved  
motorbiker and a Frankenstein's monster wearing golden underpants all

breaks down, so they are forced to seek refuge in the castle of the

it was supposed to - years later, Hedwig is leading her rock band on  
a tour of the U.S., telling her life story through a series of  
concerts at Bilgewater Inn seafood restaurants. Her tour dates  
coincide with those of arena-rock star Tommy Gnosis, a wide-eyed boy

A teenager adores his sailor friend. He dreams about the exotic  
countries, marvelous starry skies and the inevitable homesickness  
that would bring his friend back to him. In a colorful series of  
mythical referential images, his fragile dreams get so unreal, that  
the enthusiasm for seeing his friend again turns into anxiousness. ✒

Getting there: It's approximately minimum fare by autorickshaw from  
Santacruz station (East). You could also take routes 311 or 313. The  
same routes also operate from Kurla (West) station.

There is always a wink and a nudge, but I am not saying anything about any
one out loud, as that would open me up to being sued for defamation. But as
they say, samajhdaar ko ishara hee kaafi hai...

And ishara... is also about opininions. Like for example, the first gay kiss
on screen (Dostana) not withstanding, my personal opinion is that John
Abharam is not a good kisser.
