hi guys,

Picked up some really good gay titles from the strand book fest this
time. And unlike previous years where it was a mix of the usual
suspects like James Baldwin and Circa (collection of gay short
stories) this time picked up some gay-pop-titles.

Must say though that girls will have a much easier time - they have
the choicest pick from the a series of best lesbian erotica, Jeanette
Winterson's books, A woman Like that (lesbian coming out stories -
bought a copy last year its one of the best) and ruth vanita's book
on same sex marriages.

And i cldnt believe my eyes when i laid my hands on a book on gay
astrology (yeah, tats rite :). Chk below for a brief on d books i got

Strand book fest is on till feb 4 at Sunderbhai hall, marine lines.

* Gay Astrology: The Complete Relationship Guide for Gay Men

Spent the last week trying it out on my friends - and its freakily
true. Its like the how, what, why, where and when of gay
relationships. How to deal with a uppity Virgo boyfriend or a two
timing Gemini - its all there

* Shameless by Paul Burston

The adventures of a thirty-something, newly singled Londoner; his
bitchy friend; and his best (female) friend as they deal with drugs,
dance and sex clubs, too supportive parents, and why it's not smart
to always think with your glands. (from the net)

l

* Hot Sauce by Scott Pomfret, Scott Whittier

(blurb from the book) A sizzling hot literary concoction of love,
passion, drama, and the importance of trusting one's heart from two
talented new voices in fiction. Brad Drake has come a long way from
tiny Durgin City, Iowa. In his late 20s, he's a respected celebrity
chef with a great apartment, a bustling social life, and a wonderful
relationship with Troy Boston, a hip fashion designer and boutique
owner. But Brad's world is suddenly shattered when a figure from
Troy's past, the flamboyant Aria Shakespeare, shows up with damning
evidence of Troy's infidelities. As spicy as a Bloody Mary with extra
Tabasco, this tale of relationships, lies, and trust will keep
readers enthralled-and frantic-until its final surprising pages

* Other Voices, Other Rooms by Truman Capote

Blurb from the Vintage International edition: Truman Capote's first
novel is a story of almost supernatural intensity and inventiveness,
an audacious foray into the mind of a sensitive boy as he seeks out
the grown-up enigmas of love and death in the ghostly landscape of
the deep South.

At the age of twelve, Joel Knox is summoned to meet the father who
abandoned him at birth. But when Joel arrives at the decaying mansion
in Skully's Landing, his father is nowhere in sight. What he finds
instead is a sullen stepmother who delights in killing birds; an
uncle with the face - and heart - of a debauched child; and a
fearsome little girl named Idabel who may offer him the closest thing
he has ever known to love.
