 What is your gfortran version (gfortran -v)?
 
 I cannot repoduce it with neither -static nor without using
 gfortran 4.1.3 20070413 (prerelease)
 and 4.3.0 20070425 (experimental)
 under x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
