[gdal-dev] probelms with 1.6.0 on Vista 64 bit

2008-12-08 Thread Clay, Bruce
I am having problems getting GDAL 1.6.0 to work on Vista 64 bit. It
fails on OgrRegisterAll. It dose not through an exception it just lets
the program return to the GUI without any error message. I put a break
point in the error handler call back and it does not hit that either.

It appears to be related to zlib. I don't have the exact line number
but I was wondering if anyone else has been able to get GDAL 1.6.0 up on
a Vista 64 bit system.

Bruce

Bruce,

Could you describe your test case in more detail? Are you using one of the
console apps of GDAL? Did you compile for x86 or x64?

Best regards,

Tamas

Re: [gdal-dev] Motion: Promote RC4 as official 1.6.0 Release

2008-12-08 Thread Tamas Szekeres
2008/12/8 Frank Warmerdam [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I am not opposed to exposing additional methods to swig supported languages
at a point release (like 1.6.1). If you think it is important to have it
in 1.6.0 you could veto the RC4 promotion and add we could have an RC5 with
the support. In any event, if it is important to you I'd suggest adding
it in trunk and 1.6 branch immediately so it can get into RC5 if there is
 one.

Frank,

I've added this in trunk and 1.6, however I'm not keen to block the release
process solely because of this. It will be ok to have it included in the
1.6.1 release.

Best regards,

Tamas

Why do you post this a a reply to my Question?

There is zero relation between my gdal2tiles Question and your stuff :(

No, it is a reply to Sven's question. Please look at your header :

I suppose that you have clicked on the Reply button, then you have

[gdal-dev] Toronto Code Sprint 2009, March 7-10

2008-12-08 Thread Frank Warmerdam

Folks,

I think it was mentioned here before, but I'd like to encourage
participation in the Toronto Code Sprint planned for March 7-10th.

From the perspective of the GDAL developers I am particularly interested
in a focus on GDAL performance - with a emphasis on it's use from MapServer.

If there are folks interested in tuning GDAL performance in the MapServer
context, or for other applications it would be helpful to have you there
in attendance to help create and run performance tests, and help us tune
GDAL internals.
