gEDA-user: gsch2pcb can't find pcb installation directory

2006-10-26 Thread devrin talen
Hi all,I recently built the geda suite through fink on my mac running os 10.4. I've been going through the tutorial on geda's main website, and when I use gsch2pcb on my "project" file it gives me this output:
/usr/bin/gm4: /sw/share/pcb/m4/common.m4: No such file or directoryR101: can't find PCB element for footprint R025 (value=10K)So device R101 will not be in the layout.U102: can't find PCB element for footprint DIL-8-300 (value=TL072)
So device U102 will not be in the layout.U101: can't find PCB element for footprint DIL-8-300 (value=TL072)So device U101 will not be in the layoutetc.I read further down on the tutorial that this means that it can't find my pcb installation directory, and that I need to locate it. The problem is that I can't seem to find any directory anywhere on my system that has the "*.inc" files for gsch2pcb. I can't find any "pcb/m4" directory. I've looked all over the /sw directory that fink uses, and the /usr directory as well. Any ideas?

gEDA-user: gschem symbol search order

2006-10-26 Thread Peter Baxendale
If you have a (component-library "...") line in your local gafrc file
(in $HOME/.gEDA), should that directory be searched before any others
for symbols?

I seem to find that if I save the design then reload it, gschem picks up
a symbol of the same name from the geda library instead of the one from
my own library. I can rename my own symbol, of course, just wondered...

Is majordomo still running? I think you need to go in through the
mailman I/F instead (http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-dev).

But... don't bother. It doesn't work either.

I don't understand, the web interface to mailman should work fine.
What error message are you getting? Worst case is I can unsubscribe people
manually if the numbers are small.

Ah - seems to be working now; I've just got a password reminder after 36
hours. I hadn't realised that the list server wasn't working at all when
I posted.
