gEDA-user: pcb-20091103 photo-mode problem

2010-01-01 Thread Lloyd J Strickler
Relative noob problem. I have created a PCB (2 layer, 1x 0.8) that I
can create Gerbers from and export to a PS file or a plain PNG file. I
was able to use the File-Export layout-PNG photo-mode once and
everything looked great, any time I've tried after that time it only
puts out a 203 byte file that is all black. I've tried flipping it, not
flipping, no bloat, low bloat, high bloat. What am I missing?

Could you send me your .pcb file, and the command line or export

I'm using the File-Export layout PNG menu selection. If you find a set
of values that work let me know.

Thanks. The confusing part is I did get good output files originally (at
a couple different resolutions) and then it stopped working while I was
trying to export the other side after I did some subtle modifications
(pad size and position, label positions).

It looks like photo mode is working on certain boards of mine and not
others. Does this have to do with layer names or numbers perhaps?

Ok, here's the problem - you have a layer called outline that
contains a single arc on it.

Everything that's not the arc, is therefore not your board.

I did push a patch that fixes the mask layer so that the images that
work are the correct color, though.

info gcc should give you the documentation for the compiler,
including the various options like -I.

-I tells the compiler where to find include files like global.h.

Point of fact, if I try to use photo mode in either the current git or in the
20081128 release, the program just creates an unusable image and segfaults.

Heh, and here I was hoping to give that feature a spin :-)
