So open a layer before you edit it. Once you have made changes, open the layer again. Make old one red and new one green. Select Rendering: Fast with XOR. The unchanged copper will be yellow. I tried setting the minimum annular ring size and minimum drill size in PCB but after autorouting the size of the vias don't change. To me, the benefit in sorting is the convenience to always find the most frequently needed attributes on first glance. NGspice has essentially the same algorithms as LTspice.
