gEDA-user: system-gafrc

2009-05-25 Thread Peter Gregson
Hi, All,

I have had endless trouble trying to install geda-bundle on my Intel
MacBook running 10.5.7. It appears that all installs properly except
that I don't have system-gafrc installed in /sw/etc/gEDA. Can someone
send me a copy so that I can place it there?

This shows up when I try to run gschem. My geda-bundle contains
gschem 1.4.3.20081231

Thanks, and Best regards
Peter

gEDA-user: libraries

2009-05-25 Thread Peter Gregson
I have installed geda-bundle on my MacBook running 10.5.7. It appears
to have been successful, thanks to Jason who sent me his system-gafrc
file to install (geda-bundle didn't). However, this version seems to
have found all of my libraries, but has not found the libraries that
used to be included with geda. Has anyone else had this problem? How
do I fix it?

Thanks,

Peter

gEDA-user: libraries

2009-05-25 Thread Peter Gregson
geda-bundle did not install system-gafrc on my machine for
unexplained reasons. I seem to have made it work by copying system-
gafrc to /sw/etc/gEDA/ by hand. However, gschem does not find any of
the libraries in /sw/share/gEDA/sym.

How can I fix this? I don't see any way to specify a library other
than in gschemrc which requires me to list every single one
individually. At one time, they were loaded automatically. Is there
a way to do this?

Thanks,

Peter

Do you get anything from 'dpkg -L libgeda33-data | grep gafrc' ?

If not, well... this is sort of straying away from gEDA territory
 (since gEDA
needs that file to run, and Fink should have installed it). I
 believe I sent you

Same as install, but will install the package via dpkg(8)

 So, try fink reinstall geda-bundle.

gEDA-user: installing geda-bundle on a Mac OS X 10.5.7

2009-05-20 Thread Peter Gregson

I am having considerable difficulty installing geda-bundle on my
MacBook running Mac OS X 10.5.7. I tried fink; it appeared to work
after much messing about caused by my version of fink not updating the
table when it says that it has. I have tried using Fink and
FinkCommander, without success. Then I tried downloading from the
sources download page and running make. That showed me that I needed
guile. After hours scanning the web, I found a forum where someone
had a similar problem and suggested installing gmp and guile from
[1]http://rudix.org. I did that and the compile went further but
aborted with some _scm_x symbols undefined. I gave up in
   frustration.

Trying again tonight, I booted the computer and this time
FinkCommander told me that geda-bundle was not installed. I tried
again to use FinkCommander to load the geda-bundle binary. This time,
it appeared to load properly as shown below.

   Selecting previously deselected package geda-gschem.
   Unpacking geda-gschem (from

Now, when I try to run gschem, I get:
