did a test sound can play with no click when gem is at 40fps?

i suspect that the computer can't perform at 50fps, so it slow down at 40.
so pd time is late, and pd will try to speed things up when possible (so going 
at the 60fps maximum speed).

Yes, that depends of the complexity of my different scenes, but for me 
it's acceptable even at 40 or 30 fps.
But for one of the scenes, Pd starts at 50 fps and during 15 seconds, it 
is OK. Then (and i don't know why), pd goes to 60 fps during 30 seconds 
and then go back to 50 fps. There is always the same 'things' in the 
scene and same animation.
And today, it seems to perform as expected and i don't know why besause 
i didn't change anything. ;)

since 30fps is acceptable for you, use [gemwin 30] and enjoy audio with no 
click.

Gem is sync with pd data processing.
gemhead send something only between audio bloc processing.
using pd -noaudio will help fps stabilisation.

i don't know how does realFPS works, did it measure time between last 2 frame, 
or did it average data on more frames?

yes, it look like my programming style.
data are filtered, so small jitter introduce by audio computation should not be 
visible.

I've got a solid 50fps even when synchronize with a 60Hz screen. (on linux)

I am working on an installation on MacOsX.6.7 with Pd-extended 0.42.5 
and Gem 0.92.3 (compiled Sep 22 2010).

The graphic card is a ATI Radeon HD 5770.
On this environment, i can't get a stable frame rate. With [gemwin 50], 
i get sometimes with the abstraction [realFPS] : 60 fps (strange no ?) 
then 5 seconds after 40 fps. Even when the scene is the same.
