[Gendergap] Wikiproject: Editor Retention discussion on bullying

2014-05-19 Thread Carol Moore dc
Thread: "Translating effective methods of dealing with a culture of
bullying from other organisations"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Editor_Retention#Translating_effective_methods_of_dealing_with_a_culture_of_bullying_from_other_organisations

Just been too busy with own Wikipedia contretemps to comment on this
being a big reason women lose interest in editing. This might be a good
en. wikipedia wikiproject for women looking to help more women stay; or
for other language wikipedias to start.

Re: [Gendergap] FemWiki project in Serbia

2014-05-19 Thread Alex Wang
Hi Sanja, Nikoleta, and Ana-Marija,

Great to hear you're launching a FemWiki project in Serbia!

We recently pulled together some resources for holding edit-a-thons and
editing workshops that might be helpful as you plan your events:

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG/Program_Resources/Edit-a-thons

Definitely be sure to check out Keilana's Systemic Bias Workshop Kit:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Systemic_bias_workshop_kit.pdf

Please be in touch if you need funding for your events. We are happy to
discuss any ideas or questions you may have, whether or not you need
funding support. You can find more information on the Project and Event
Grants Program here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG.

Excited to hear how this project develops!

Cheers,

Alex
