Incubator website karma?
I need to commit an IP Clearance form for the contribution of an Eclipse plugin to the Shale project. Can someone please grant karma for the Incubator website to 'wsmoak'? Thanks, Wendy - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: ODE Board Resolution draft
Hi Martin, Please see my answers in line: On 7/6/07, Martijn Dashorst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Though not a IPMC member, I have some questions: In both the December 2006 and March 2007 reports ODE mentions that the project needs to attract more developers and diversify. The June'07 report mentions leads to new committers. Have these joined the community? I ask this to see if you have adopted voting in new community members using Apache practices. Yes we did, see [1] for the announcement. It's fairly recent but we've been monitoring this particular committer already for a little while. Also note that these mentions in the incubator reports come from ourselves, we wanted to demonstrate our ability to attract more committers. However I'm not aware of any IPMC concern regarding our diversity. The PPMC has only been installed recently. How can we ascertain that the PPMC has enough experience to function given the raised concerns of a non-functioning PPMC until june? Especially if the former question hasn't been resolved (i.e. adding/voting in new committers). The PPMC wasn't non-functioning, it's actually been functioning pretty well, it was just not elected yet. All decisions were taken by the committers who are now part of the PPMC as all PPMC do, it was just a bit more "in the open". I think it has taken a while to formalize our PPMC because after the incubation started the IPMC wanted to see how we were going to organize ourselves (worries with 2 different code donations). And we've continued this way for a while just because it was working pretty well and our mentors were aware and happy about this evolution. I don't think there's any dysfunction to see here, just a slightly different evolution path. We've also been working on this and talking with different IPMC members about graduation (including our mentors of course) and again, I don't think there are too many concerns regarding us being ready (but anybody can correct me if I'm wrong). As for ascertaining the current PPMC, you will have to refer to the development mailing-list. It's probably a bit more tedious but you'll get a good idea of how our community has been working so far. ODE Board Resolution draft
Hi, We've drafted a first version of the resolution to be submitted to the board for the graduation of ODE as a TLP. It's reproduced at the end of this e-mail for your review. Since the start of our graduation we believe we've demonstrated our ability to build a community and grow it in an open and respectful manner, hopefully in a true Apache way. We've resolved the conflicts created before our incubation around two different donated code bases. We've since then continued the development of the project and have grown a community of supporting users. We've recently built an incubator release and attracted a new committer. Finally, the formation of our PPMC has been a bit tardy but all the individuals composing it have demonstrated their ability to take decisions and organize the project in a positive way as part of our development community. For all these reasons we believe we're ready for graduation. Once everybody is happy with the resolution, we can start a vote for recommendation to the board. Thanks! Matthieu - Establish the Apache ODE project WHEREAS, the Board of Directors deems it to be in the best interests of the Foundation and consistent with the Foundation's purpose to establish a Project Management Committee charged with the creation and maintenance of open-source software related to business process management (BPM), process orchestration and workflow through service composition, for distribution at no charge to the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a Project Management Committee (PMC), to be known as the "The Apache ODE Project", be and hereby is established pursuant to Bylaws of the Foundation; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Apache ODE Project be and hereby is responsible for the creation and maintenance of software related to business process management (BPM), process orchestration and workflow through service composition; and be it further RESOLVED, that the office of "Vice President, Apache ODE" be and hereby is created, the person holding such office to serve at the direction of the Board of Directors as the chair of the Apache ODE Project, and to have primary responsibility for management of the projects within the scope of responsibility of the Apache ODE Project; and be it further RESOLVED, that the persons listed immediately below be and hereby are appointed to serve as the initial members of the Apache ODE Project: * Alan Cabrera ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Assaf Arkin( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Alex Boisvert ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Cory Harper([EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Guillaume Nodet( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Lance Waterman ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Maciej Szefler ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Matthieu Riou ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) * Paul R. Brown ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Matthieu Riou be appointed to the office of Vice President, Apache ODE, to serve in accordance with and subject to the direction of the Board of Directors and the Bylaws of the Foundation until death, resignation, retirement, removal or disqualification, or until a successor is appointed; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Apache ODE Project be and hereby is tasked with the migration and rationalization of the Apache Incubator ODE podling; and be it further RESOLVED, that all responsibilities pertaining to the Apache Incubator ODE podling encumbered upon the Apache Incubator PMC are hereafter discharged. -

Re: Project status updates
Wicket is still hosted on the incubator. Until infra has found the time to move Wicket to its rightful place, I won't update the site (I would like it to be possible for people to find Wicket) Martijn -- Wicket joins the Apache Software Foundation as Apache Wicket Apache Wicket 1.3.0-beta2 is released Get it now: http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/wicket/1.3.0-beta2/ - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
