For the old stuck projects, Clutch gathers various hints about their dev
mail list addresses. For the recently entered podlings, i gather that it
is always "dev@podling".

Clutch also makes sure that each list is operational, otherwise it uses
the general@ list for that podling (which unfortunately misses the
project's name).

Sorry, no time now. This local search gave plenty of hits on previous
and more detailed explanations of the process:

Yes it does send to each podling's dev list.
Please see the data list referenced below.

The additional summary that goes to the IPMC private list
shows the set of delivery addresses, which does include
those that Marvin is being blamed for.

Marvin sends a summary to IPMC private@ list. It did include both
MRQL and Ambari.

They are listed in this summary (generated from content/podlings.xml):
http://incubator.apache.org/report-groups.txt
and in this month's data list:
http://incubator.apache.org/report_due_2.txt

[ANNOUNCE] Release Curator 2.0.0-incubating released

2013-05-09 Thread Jordan Zimmerman
Hello,

The Apache Curator team is pleased to announce the release of version
2.0.0-incubating from the Apache Incubator.

Curator was originally open sourced by Netflix via Github. This is the first
Apache release of Curator. I'd like to thank the mentors for their help in
getting to this milestone. In particular, Patrick Hunt and Luciano Resende have
been incredibly helpful and patient.

Link to release notes:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CURATOR#selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Achangelog-panel

The most recent source release can be obtained from an Apache Mirror:
http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/incubator/curator/
(mirror sync times may vary)

The binary artifacts for Curator are available from Maven Central and its
mirrors.

For general information on Apache Curator, please visit the project website:
http://curator.incubator.apache.org

Disclaimer:
Apache Curator is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software
Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Incubator PMC.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review
indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process
have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects.

While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness
or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be
fully endorsed by the ASF.

Re: [VOTE] Release JSPWiki version 2.9.1-incubating (2nd RC)

2013-05-09 Thread Juan Pablo Santos Rodríguez
Hi Ant,

thanks for the vote :-)

Regarding the NOTICE file, specifically which comments? Right now has 4
entries, being the reasons behind each one:
- fckconfig.js entry: published under MPL 2.0, so it requires to be in
NOTICE

- "Portions of this code donated by BaseN Corporation." entry: legal's
advice [#1] was to keep this entry in NOTICE

- SilkIconSet entry: published under Creative Commons Attribution 2.5
License, which in section 4.b states "If you distribute, publicly display,
publicly perform, or publicly digitally perform the Work or any Derivative
Works or Collective Works, You must keep intact all copyright notices [...]"

- Slimbox: published under MIT license so shouldn't be there, as pointed in
[#2]. However, as it's been modified, I thought of it as a derivative work
and, it fell under section 4.d of the AL "You may add Your own attribution
notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside or as an
addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided that such additional
attribution notices cannot be construed as modifying the License."

Please note that I'm not saying they *should* be there, only why they are
there. If there's anything wrong on that file we'll correct it ASAP (btw, a
handy way to check if other projects are including specifics entries in
NOTICE files for 3rd party libraries is to search for an specific
dependency at [#4] and then checking the svn's NOTICE file of the projects
using it)

Regarding the missing DISCLAIMER, our distribution target didn't catch it.
It's already fixed on trunk, although our plan is release 2.9.1 in order to
start graduation discuss soon thereafter.

@general: aside from Ant's vote, we've got another couple of votes at
jspwiki-dev, so the tally right now is 5PPMC +1 votes, 1 +1 IPMC vote

Sorry, working from mobile device while travelling. I proposed creating a
board like structure and formalising shepherd role. Very similar to Chris'
proposal but leaving overhead with IPMC rather than moving to board.

Hehe - fair comment. I was thinking, for example, of BlueSky - the archives
show my concern that was ignored and ultimately shown to be right. A
counter example is OpenMeetings who addressed my concerns, came back and
graduated quickly and smoothly. I'm not suggesting its always possible to
get it right, but I do think we can be more rigorous in general.
