Good to hear.

That would be a good help it need to be clear that ECharts is an Apache project.

I think the issue is more than people might be confused and think these are
parts of the Apache project. e.g. "ECharts-GL is an extension pack of Apache
ECharts (incubating), which providing 3D plots, globe visualization and WebGL
acceleration.”

So yes I think add some text to make it clear these are not part of the Apache
ECharts project would help.

Thanks Justin! We really appreciate it.

The description of [1] is generated from GitHub release, so it will be
updated with our next
release, which is expected to happen in a few more days.

The description of [2] is generated from GitHub description. We can update
the GitHub description, adding "Apache ECharts is ..." if you are OK with
that.

We have made a lot of pull requests to fix README files and descriptions of
third-party
extensions like [3], making sure that they refer to the project as "Apache
ECharts (incubating)".
See [a] for more information. What would you suggest adding to make the
description more
accurate, maybe adding "This is not an official Apache ECharts project"?

[4-8] are the third-party extensions that are built based on Apache
ECharts. Do you think
it would be good if we add information like "This project is not an
official Apache ECharts project",
or what other information should we state?

+1, binding(forward my vote from ppmc)

p.s. There are still some minor issues that could be addressed in the
following release, such as a newbie-friendly build and quick start
documentation. I'm sure more guys will try this interesting project :-)

Re: [VOTE] Release the Apache Pegasus 2.1.0

2020-11-25 Thread Justin Mclean
Hi,

+1 (binding) but it would be good to see progress on adding all license
information / fixing all headers

I checked:
- incubating in name
- DISCLAIMER (WIP) exists
- LICENSE is missing some licenses
- NOTICE seems OK
- Unclear if all ASF source files have ASF headers. It would be best to have a
clearer separation of 3rd party code and ASF code if possible.

In the rsdn directory I’m slightly confused by the content of CONTRIBUTING.md
and the LICENSE file containing the MIT license. Should that file be in the top
level?

Thanks,
Justin

Yes, of course. Still will need a few others.

I’ll try to put together a mentor recruitment post and send it here in a few
weeks.
