Hi Doris PPMC
If this is being observed, I recommend the community should make some
adjustments, and make sure the discussion could be changed into English
before they apply for the graduation.

That’s for the podling to discuss.

I'm the member of Doris PPMC.
Our former mentor Dave resigned from Doris' mentor position for some

We respect Dave's decision very much and thank Dave for his help
during the Doris incubation process.

I really lacked the time and ability to follow along with the progress in
the project as it is high velocity and in Chinese.

It is hard for me to judge how well the Apache Way is being followed.

We currently only have two mentors, so we seek a third mentor to help
us continue to complete the incubation work.
Any suggestions and discussions are welcome.

Please review https://whimsy.apache.org/roster/ppmc/doris

Make sure that all mentors and PPMC members are subscribed to the mailing

It would be great to add moderators from the PPMC membership.

2021-02-06 Thread Saisai Shao
The Livy PPMC has voted to release Livy 0.7.1 RC1 as the next Livy release.

Livy enables programmatic, fault-tolerant, multi-tenant submission of
Spark jobs from web/mobile apps (no Spark client needed). So, multiple
users can interact with your Spark cluster concurrently and reliably.

The RC is based on tag v0.7.1-incubating-rc1:
https://github.com/apache/incubator-livy/commit/

Hi Doris PPMC
If this is being observed, I recommend the community should make some
adjustments, and make sure the discussion could be changed into English
before they apply for the graduation.

Thanks for the Ming's step in. I'm sure you can bring more fresh

Besides adding the new mentor, I think we need to think about moving

Finding a mentor for Doris(Incubating)

2021-02-06 Thread 陈明雨
Hi All:

I'm the member of Doris PPMC.
Our former mentor Dave resigned from Doris' mentor position for some reason.
We respect Dave's decision very much and thank Dave for his help during the
Doris incubation process.

We currently only have two mentors, so we seek a third mentor to help us
continue to complete the incubation work.
Any suggestions and discussions are welcome.

Doris is "A fast MPP database for all modern analytics on big data",
It has been widely used in more than 100 companies.

Re: [RESULT][VOTE] Release Apache Sedona 1.0.0-incubating rc1

There are other test files that will also need to be looked into.

The question is more why that copyright is there in the first place not the
year range.

Thanks,

[RESULT][VOTE] Release Apache Sedona 1.0.0-incubating rc1

2021-02-06 Thread Jia Yu
Dear all,

Thank you for your help! The voting is now closed and it has passed.

Binding votes:
3: +1 votes
  - Felix Cheung (carry from Sedona dev)
  - Ming Wen
  - Justin Mclean
  - Jean-Baptiste Onofre
0 : 0 votes
0: -1 votes.

Non-binding
1: +1 votes
- Juan Pan
0 : 0 votes
0: -1 votes.

We will follow up with an announce email soon!

Action items to be fixed before the next Sedona release:
1. Report the source of test files e.g. county_small_wkb.tsv [1] and what
license the contents are under.
2. Update the Zeppelin plugin LICENSE to "Copyright (c) 2020 - 2021, Apache
Sedona"
3. Put instructions on how to build the release together with the release,
instead of using the website.
4. Reduce src code size. Probably by removing some examples or docs.

Thank you,
Apache Sedona (incubating) team
