Re: [VOTE] Release Apache brpc (Incubating) 1.0.0

2021-11-28 Thread Ovilia
+1 non-binding.

I checked:
[x] Download links are valid.
[x] LICENSE and NOTICE files are correct for each brpc repo.
[x] Signature and hash are correct
[x] Source code distributions have correct names matching the current
release

Glad to see Apache BRPC (incubating) is going to release the 1.0.0 version.

Thanks

Re: [VOTE] Graduate Apache ECharts as TLP (round 2)

2020-11-25 Thread Ovilia
Thanks Justin! We really appreciate it.

The description of [1] is generated from GitHub release, so it will be
updated with our next
release, which is expected to happen in a few more days.

The description of [2] is generated from GitHub description. We can update
the GitHub description, adding "Apache ECharts is ..." if you are OK with
that.

We have made a lot of pull requests to fix README files and descriptions of
third-party
extensions like [3], making sure that they refer to the project as "Apache
ECharts (incubating)".
See [a] for more information. What would you suggest adding to make the
description more
accurate, maybe adding "This is not an official Apache ECharts project"?

[4-8] are the third-party extensions that are built based on Apache
ECharts. Do you think
it would be good if we add information like "This project is not an
official Apache ECharts project",
or what other information should we state?

level project
To: dev

Hi all,

In the last few weeks, we have discussed and voted about graduating
Apache ECharts (incubating) as a top level project. Since it has been
blocked by the branding issue of the "gallery" for several weeks, I'm
going to call on a new round of vote now.

If this vote passes, the next step would be to submit the resolution below
to the Incubator PMC, who would vote on sending it on to the Apache Board.

Vote:
[ ] +1 - Recommend graduation of Apache ECharts as a TLP
[ ] 0 - I don't feel strongly about it, but don't object
[ ] -1 - Do not recommend graduation of Apache ECharts because...

The VOTE will open for at least 72 hours and ends at
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/vote?iso=20201107T1735&p0=237&font=cursive&csz=1
.

The "gallery" is a third-party tool so it should not use a domain name
containing "echarts" to mislead visitors to believe this is an official
product. So a new domain name makeapie.com is used for it and the
previous URL gallery.echartsjs.com redirect to it. See more information
at [1].

Previous graduation discussion can be found at [2] and the previous
vote is at [3].
Our maturity model is available at [4] and checklist is [5].

Re: New distribution guidelines

2020-10-09 Thread Ovilia
Hi Justin,

I have a question about the guidelines.

> Any releases that exist before coming into incubation need to be clearly
described on the release page and tagged as such on

Does this mean that we need to change the tag/release name from something
like "4.1.0" to be "4.1.0-non-apache-release" or "4.1.0-before-incubation",
or just add a notification in the description that this is a release before
incubation?
P.S. I'm not sure if changing the version name would break some CDN relying
on GitHub version.

Thanks

Thanks Justin.

I've updated the medium post and npm description.

But it seems the npm description is cached so the Website is not updated
now.
It takes the README file from GitHub so you may check that file [1] on
GitHub
to know the npm description without cache.

Hi,

How should we get the approval of this exception?

Because the domain echarts.baidu.com has many users who might have saved the
link in their bookmarks or being linked elsewhere, it may not be wise to
ban it for
all. We still have thousands of visitors to that domain everyday.

Thanks

Hi Justin,

The domain name has been solved.

But unfortunately we missed the theme builder page.
All other pages (like https://echarts.baidu.com/option.html ) have been
fixed.
We will solve the theme builder page soon and double check other pages.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache ECharts (incubating) 4.8.0 (release candidate 1)

2020-05-17 Thread Ovilia
Hi

Just a reminder to vote on the release of Apache ECharts(incubating) 4.8.0.
Still needs few binding votes to finish the vote.

Thanks a lot!

Re: [MENTORS] Podlings download pages with issues

2020-03-04 Thread Ovilia
Hi Justin,

Thanks for the check.

But I think ECharts do have links to the signatures and hashes.
It's probably because the content of the Webpage is dynamically generated
by JavaScript so that the Python code failed to find it.
Please check http://echarts.apache.org/en/download.html for more details.

Thanks

Hi Justin,

Just to clarify, do you mean that we should not make npm option 1. Maybe we
can make building from the source to be option 1 and npm option 2. Does
that work for you?

Should I open a jira ticket or perhaps you could do the help?

Hi Craig,

Do I need to email an announcement to annou...@apache.org?
I tried so, but it was rejected with the following message:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at apache.org.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Must be sent from an @apache.org address.

I've updated ECharts download page. Hopefully, it's been fixed correctly
this time.
If so, we will send an email to annou...@apache.org for the release.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache ECharts (incubating) 4.2.1 (release candidate 3)

2019-03-18 Thread Ovilia
Sorry about that.
I've pushed a commit [1] about it, and we will check the checklist more
carefully in the next release.
I will assume this can be fixed in next release unless you give a -1
explicitly. :)

Thanks!

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the email.

I checked the release checklist and regulations about NOTICE [1], and I'm
still wondering what's wrong with the NOTICE file.
Is it related to third-party libraries?

[jira] [Created] (INCUBATOR-211) ECharts todo list of next release

2018-04-13 Thread Ovilia (JIRA)
Ovilia created INCUBATOR-211:

Summary: ECharts todo list of next release
 Key: INCUBATOR-211
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INCUBATOR-211
 Project: Incubator
  Issue Type: Task
Reporter: Ovilia

We are about to release ECharts 4.1.0 next week, hopefully on Tuesday or
Wednesday.

We will list new features or bugs to be fixed of next release everytime after
we issue a new release. But since we just joined ASF and our last release was
on 28th Feb, there are many issues we've already fixed since then. We are sorry
about it, and from next release, we will discuss todo list before we actually
get started to do them.

 # Enhance: optimize candlestick rendering and zooming in hundreds of thousand
of data.
 # Enhance: enhance the category axis ticks and labels when there was no enough
space to display all labels.
 ## Make the animation appropriate for label, ticks, splitLine, splitArea when
view window moving (by dataZoom) in category axis.
 ## Category axis tick and label was not corresponding to each other.
 ## Make the choose of ticks and labels stable when view window moving (by
dataZoom) in category axis.
 # Enhance: order of nodes for sankey diagram. #3390 #3543 #6365 #4880 #4986
 # Feature: Add zoom and drag interactions for tree diagram.
 # Fix: SVG axisPointer text position bug #7947
 # Enhance: performance of bar chart in hundreds of thousand of data. (done)
 # Enhance: sampling performance in progressive mode. (done)
 # Enhance: parallel performance in progressive mode. (done)
 # Fix: large lines chart render bug in large mode. (done)
 # Fix: The last day of a month was not displayed in calendar #8045. (done)
 # Fix: dataSample caused incorrect extent when data is NaN. (done)
 # Fix: data sample worked abnormally when using `series.encode`. #8017 (done)
 # Fix: `legendHoverLink: false` did not work appropriately when multiple
series have the same name. #8010 (done)
 # Fix: Some of the graph hover style did not work. (done)
 # Enhance: currently do not filter empty data item in data zoom, which makes
line chart keeping broken. #7955 (done)
 # Enhance: support toolbox.feature merge. (done)
 # Fix: currently we fetch name from dateItem.name firstly in list. #7966 (done)
 # Fix: typed array incorrect usage in WeChat app. (done)
 # Fix: option in axis data item did not work. #7954 (done)
 # Fix: markArea only displayed the last one. #7902 (done)
 # Fix: rounding error in clip symbol for line chart. #7913 (done)
 # Fix: bar chart start point was incorrect when multiple axes exist. #7412
(done)
 # Fix: markArea did not display when using ordinal string. #7849 (done)
 # Fix: dataZoom threw error when series was empty. #7666 (done)
 # Enhance: add tree directions from right to left, from bottom to top for tree
series. #7351 #7154 (done)
 ## The corresponding values of the configuration 'orient' are 'RL' and 'BT'.
 # Fix: resolve browser become unresponsive when the data of sankey series has
cycle. #7495 #8117 #7583 #7325 #6555 (done)
 # Fix: add compatibility of data exceptions for sankey series. #2867 (done)
 # Fix: error when remove node or render again for the tree series. #8038 #8040
#7720 #7363 # 7315 (done)
 # Fix: sunburst chart roll-up element is not removed when chart.setOption
called. #8132 (done)
 ## A roll-up element is for going back from drilling down in sunburst charts.
 # Feature: support keeping-aspect for legend path. #7831 (done)
 ## Path defined in legend was not keeping aspect, but fitting the aspect of
default legend size, which is not ideal for most path shapes.

Please send some feedback about them. Thanks!
