Thanks for reminding us. I'll raise it on the Tuscany list.

I fall in between Mike and Raymond...

"Composite SOA Application framework using SCA"
or
"Build composite SOA Applications using SCA"

As we are not actually delivering composite SOA applications but the means
to build them.

[ANNOUNCE] Apache Tuscany SCA Java 1.1 released

2008-02-05 Thread Simon Laws
The Apache Tuscany team are delighted to announce the 1.1 release of the
Java SCA project.

Apache Tuscany provides a runtime environment based on the Service Component
Architecture (SCA). SCA is a set of specifications aimed at simplifying SOA
application development. These specifications are being standardized by
OASIS as part of the Open Composite Services Architecture (Open CSA).

The Tuscany SCA Java 1.1 release adds a number of features including a JMS
binding, improved policy support and an implementation extension for
representing client side Javascript applications as SCA components.

For full details about the release and to download the distributions please
go to:

http://incubator.apache.org/tuscany/sca-java-releases.html

To find out more about OASIS Open CSA go to:

http://www.oasis-opencsa.org

Apache Tuscany welcomes your help. Any contribution, including code,
testing, contributions to the documentation, or bug reporting is always
appreciated. For more information on how to get involved in Apache Tuscany
visit the website at:

http://incubator.apache.org/tuscany

Thank you for your interest in Apache Tuscany!

The Apache Tuscany Team.

---

Tuscany is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software
Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Web services PMC. Incubation
is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review
indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making
process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful
ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection
of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that
the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.

Quick update.

We brought the project vote to a successful conclusion -
http://www.mail-archive.com/tuscany-dev%40ws.apache.org/msg27556.html

We worked with sebb to track down his build issue and explain the missing
files in the source archive -

This vote is still open for a little while.

[VOTE] Please approve Tuscany SCA Java 1.1-incubating release (RC3a)

2008-01-28 Thread Simon Laws
 Hi,

The previous VOTE thread here for SCA Java 1.1-incubating identified some
issues.

http://www.mail-archive.com/general@incubator.apache.org/msg16483.html

A new release candidate (RC3a) has been created addressing the issues as
discussed in the previous thread. I'm starting this IPMC VOTE thread in
parallel with the project vote thread as the material content of the release
hasn't changed significantly and I don't want to delay before getting IPMC
eyeballs on it.

The ongoing thread in the Tuscany community can be found here

http://www.mail-archive.com/tuscany-dev%40ws.apache.org/msg27401.html

The release includes a set of bug-fixes and new function such as the
implementation of binding.jms. You can see a list of changes at:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/tuscany/tags/java/sca/1.1-RC3a/distribution/src/main/release/CHANGES

The signed binary and source distributions, the RAT reports, and the Maven
staging repository are listed at the following links.

SVN Tag:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/tuscany/tags/java/sca/1.1-RC3a/

Stage maven repo:
http://people.apache.org/~slaws/tuscany/1.1-RC3a/maven/

RAT report:
http://people.apache.org/~slaws/tuscany/1.1-RC3a/rat-1.1-RC3a.txt

Binary and source distros (zip/gz/asc/md5) :
http://people.apache.org/~slaws/tuscany/1.1-RC3a/

Please review and approve the release. This vote will remain open for at
least 72 hours.

Thank you for your attention,

Simon
