We've recently had several mentors bow out of mentoring due to their other responsibilities becoming more pressing. Consequently, we're looking to add 2-3 more folks who can help us navigate the Incubator process. http://annotator.apache.org/ has more information if you're new to the project. Our greatest incubator related hurdle is wrangling a scattered community from across the Web into the welcoming arms of our project. :) We're building tooling around the W3C's Web Annotation specifications [1] and writing browser and server code to eventually replace much of the tooling originally provided by Annotator.js [2]. However, our goal is *not* to ship a full UX for doing annotation, but rather a set of tools to enable developers to ship annotation capabilities within their applications. You can read more about our project on our Proposal page: https://github.com/apache/incubator-annotator/wiki/Proposal We hope to eventually be able to liaison with many other Apache Top-Level Projects to add annotation capabilities to their systems for machine learning, linked data, and natural language processing (search, indexing, etc). Help wanted! :) Much thanks! Benjamin [1] https://www.w3.org/annotation/ [2] http://annotatorjs.org/ -- http://bigbluehat.com/ http://linkedin.com/in/benjaminyoung

Re: [DISCUSS] Gradute Streams as TLP
In a discussion [1] on private@streams started on 7/5/17 there was strong support from PPMC including 3 mentors for the proposed charter. PPMC members not proposed for PMC had a chance to request they be added to proposed PMC, but none did. We plan to push forward and start a VOTE on the matter of graduation today, but this DISCUSS will remain open as well for any questions from IPMC. Re: [DISCUSS] Gradute Streams as TLP
To Dave’s question about participation, I believe that’s correct. The PPMC members who are not proposed for the PMC have all been wholly inactive for at least year. To Dave’s question about commit rights, as a podling we never added any non-PPMC committers, so I personally think it’s appropriate that we would only maintain commit rights for those on the new PMC. I expect the community would welcome any former participants who returned and wanted to contribute again eagerly, and they could regain commit rights in short order. But based on feedback from both of you, I will open a thread on private@streams asking for feedback on the decision everyone on the PPMC. Clearly I should have done that prior to circulating the draft among this group. Steve On July 5, 2017 at 4:30:54 PM, John D. As the PPMC member encouraged to draft the resolution, that was the condition I decided to apply, after running it by a few others from the community out-of-band. There was no email thread on the topic, so using the definition that decisions must be made on the list, this wasn’t a group decision, it was an action by me. Sorry for the confusion. Re: [DISCUSS] Gradute Streams as TLP
John, We decided to propose only PPMC members who voted +1 to the graduation resolution for the PMC. If that left out anyone harboring a latent plan to re-engage with the project community, and they let us know on dev@streams, we’d be happy to add their names onto the resolution. [DISCUSS] Gradute Streams as TLP
Hello, The Streams PPMC has discussed [1] and voted [2] to graduate to TLP. In preparation for an IPMC vote on the matter, we’ve updated our project status xml [3] and corresponding whimsy podlingStatus [4], completed an Apache Maturity Model Assessment [5], and drafted a proposed charter [6]. We’d appreciate any feedback you can provide at this stage to help ensure the project has all bases covered to become a successful Apache TLP. Thank you for your consideration. [ANNOUNCE] Apache Streams 0.5-incubating release
The Apache Streams team is pleased to announce the release of Apache Streams 0.5-incubating. Sources are now available from Apache mirrors ( http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/incubator/streams/releases/0.5-incubating/ ) and binaries are now available from the apache maven repository ( http://repository.apache.org/ ) and maven central ( http://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Cg%3A%22org.apache.streams%22%20v%3A%220.5-incubating%22 ) Apache Streams (incubating) unifies a diverse world of digital profiles and online activities into common formats and vocabularies, and makes these datasets accessible across a variety of databases, devices, and platforms for streaming, browsing, search, sharing, and analytics use-cases. The project aims to provide simple two-way data interchange with popular REST APIs using industry standard data representations and common interfaces. Streams compatibility with multiple storage back-ends and ability to be embedded within any java-based real-time or batch data processing platform ensures that its interoperability features come with little technical baggage. 0.5-incubating is a feature release which updates persist support for neo4j to include the bolt binary protocol, updates persist support for cassandra to include SSL support, and adds persist support for riak via both http and binary protocols. 0.5-incubating also contains bug fixes, documentation improvements, and release process improvements, including but not limited to removing the streams-master parent repo from the build plan. More details on Apache Streams can be found at: http://streams.incubator.apache.org/ Thanks to all the contributors who made the release possible, and encourage anyone interested in using or contributing to the project to join the dev mailing list ( mailto:dev-subscr...@streams.incubator.apache.org )

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Streams 0.4-incubating
John, Yes, the project uses jenkins for CI. Here’s a depiction of our current CI flow: each ‘jenkins’ oval is a job http://streams.staging.apache.org/site/0.4-incubating-SNAPSHOT/streams-master/integration.html Latest thread discussing recent updates to our CI: https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/d0a82ce000d1a71125d0ec70fb29c8f13cb946ae1a97998652389134@%3Cdev.streams.apache.org%3E There are a few integration tests that still need manual setup to pass - those aren’t run with every build on jenkins but they are run as part of cutting a release candidate. Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Streams 0.4-incubating
John, Thanks for attempting a build. This wiki page lists all of the steps I ran through during the release process, and logs of what occurred. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/STREAMS/0.4-incubating+rc3+release+logs streams-master: parent POM, most of project web page. streams-project: majority of interfaces / classes including data providers, processors, persistence, and runtime modules. streams-examples: assortment of modules demonstrating how to assemble, package, and execute streams out of modules. It looks like your issue stems from not running `mvn install` on streams-master prior to streams-project. Running `mvn clean install` on each in order should result in BUILD SUCCESS. [VOTE] Release Apache Streams 0.4-incubating
Hi Incubator PMC, The Apache Streams community has voted and approved the proposal to release Apache Streams 0.4 (incubating). We now kindly request the Incubator PMC members to review and vote on this incubator release. PPMC and IPMC feedback received during rc1 and rc2 votes (respectively) have been addressed with rc3.
