Re: [DISCUSS] Graduate Apache Ratis as TLP

2021-01-28 Thread Uma gangumalla
HI Justin,

Ratis community addressed the following issues:
1. Adjust Github notifications settings to use issues@ mailing list ( JIRA:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RATIS-1297 )
2. Fix the wrong links from Ratis website and download link point to mirror
links instead of download area directly (
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RATIS-1285 )
3. Removed the cloned ratis website : https://elek.github.io/ratis-site/

Please let me know if we are good to proceed for voting. So, that I can
start the voting thread.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards,
Uma

2021-01-10 Thread Uma gangumalla
HI Justin, Thank you so much for pointing.
Sorry for the late reply, I stuck in some internal stuff and could not get
back here.

There are direct conversations in dev lists as well, but there is more
traffic from github conversations into dev lists then direct conversations
relatively.

>have you considered moving the GitHub traffic off the dev list?
Let me initiate a discussion in dev@ratis to discuss this. Thanks for
suggesting.

I have filed a JIRA for correcting wrong links and release links. [1]

>This also seem a little odd [2], do you know why it exists.
This will be deleted. Thanks Marton for the reply.

Created as a preview for the first version of Ratis site during the
creation, to help reviews and forgot to delete it.

After reviews the content of this patch is moved to the official ratis-site.

Thanks the reminder and sorry for the confusion.

2021-01-04 Thread Uma gangumalla
HI Ming,
Thanks a lot for the reply and suggestions.
Yeah since it was not mandatory, we did not fill that form. If you have
specific questions on that, I can bring the points here.
Yes, name-search approved: Please find the JIRA:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PODLINGNAMESEARCH-160

Yes, you are right, we have actually started discuss and vote thread in
private@ratis first. Then I started vote thread directly. I should have
started from discuss. However vote thread passed. I believe in vote thread
also usually people can raise concerns if there are. Since it was passed in
vote thread, I thought that should be ok. If DISCUSS thread also needed, I
can run that too, but it may be odd after vote thread passed ;-)

Uma

2020-12-23 Thread Justin Mclean
Hi,

I notice you use [1]. Are the conversations there being brought back to the
mailing list? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of conversation happening on your
mailing list other than GitHub traffic, have you considered moving the GitHub
traffic off the dev list?

I notice the download links on your front page and not using the correct links
[1], they shouldn’t point directly to the download area

This also seem a little odd [2], do you know why it exists.

Thanks,
Justin

Hi, Uma,
Has Ratis completed the podling maturity assessment? which is not
necessary, but is helpful for this discussion.
Is the name search approved by brand vp?
And I only found the vote thread[1] in your dev mailing list, but no
discuss thread. Did I miss something?
