Just to be clear in case someone believes your misconceptions; you don't
need to learn to edit vsl files to take advantage of the Jakarta-site
module. In fact, the whole point of it is that it does the following:

The vsl stylesheet is done for you so that your site will look *exactly*
like the rest of the Jakarta site without the need for any debugging or
other bullshit. There is even sample build.xml files and everything is fully
documented so that everyone can work on the site without a high cost of
learning.

You may get others to do the work for you, but it isn't worth anything if it
isn't done right. Take the easy high road and become a member of the Jakarta
community by participating in it.

Ditto here for the xsl stuff. We produce docbook xml docs, and run it
through 2 sets of stylesheets:
1 - docbook -> site
2 - site -> html

And then checkin the resulting html to CVS.

Is there an easier way?

There is an XSL stylesheet that can be used with the site files, vsl
doesn't *have* to be used.

> recent issue with the new stylesheets.

And hence we try to keep the vsl and xsl stylesheets in sync in commons.
Maybe we need to get the commons and cocoon stylesheets in sync too?

No thats us breaking things trying to get our site to regenerate via
script but fighting permissions issues.

Do you know what the best thing about centipede/cocoon is? I don't have
to lift a finger, other people do it for me :-D. Granted, Anakia is
faster and seems to work nicely. I'm not keen on learning to write vsl
files in the near and immediate future, maybe one day (I hate writing
xsl files enough). As far as the page not working in Netscape, thats a
recent issue with the new stylesheets.

Actually we use centepede/cocoon. But wow. I just checked the new
stylesheets with NS 4.7x and boy it sure does look weird. I'm reporting
this and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Admittedly, nearly everyone on the project uses IE or a gecko-based

Re: SOAP + SSL ?

2002-03-17 Thread Andrew C. Oliver

First tip, perhaps you should post to either the Tomcat or SOAP mailing
lists. Please re-read http://jakarta.apache.org/site/mail.html and the
page following. You'll find the tomcat mail list there as well. You
might want to check over on the soap project page over on
xml.apache.org/soap in addition to the FAQ you found, there there is
also a link to the SOAP users mailing list which would I suspect be the
appropriate place to ask this particular question.

Hope this helps,

SOAP + SSL ?

2002-03-17 Thread nomorems

Dear,

I have some problems with my Tomcat in combination
with SOAP and SSL.

I did the steps from 1 to 5a
(http://xml.apache.org/soap/docs/install/FAQ_Tomcat_SOAP_SSL.html)
, but I get this report:

Ctx( ): 400 R( /) null
Ctx( ): IOException in: R( /) null cert chain
Ctx( ): IllegalStateException in: R( /) Current state
= FLUSHED, new state = CODING
Ctx( ): IllegalStateException in: R( /) Current state
= FLUSHED, new state = CODING
Ctx( ): IllegalStateException in: R( /) Current state
= FLUSHED, new state = CODING
... he is hanging on ;-)

what does the tutorial mean with "setup some
ssl-specific stuff"?
Please can you help me. I have to do it for school, so
every tip is usefull...

regards, Pieter Cal
