I think going forward it should absolutely be sync'ed with Axis2. However, given the timing of Axis2 I don't think we should prevent a JSR 172 impl being completed until Axis2 is complete. I would very much like to see what we'd need to do in Axis2 to make the core runnable on the J2ME platform. As such, I'd like to encourage the J2ME folks to join the Axis2 community as well. (We already have that with Ias but I'm referring to the other guys too.) Anyone has some time? our old wiki (http://nagoya.apache.org/wiki) was closed down finally. The contents are now at http://wiki.apache.org/old/...We need to move over the content from there to http://wiki.apache.org/ws/ and clean up the content while at it to look better in the new wiki.
