 I recommend you move the USB to modules... My Asus A8V wouldn't find

 so it's not an amd64 feature).

Maybe a bug in hotplug?

Re: [gentoo-amd64] No USB

2005-02-27 Thread gexplorer .
Hello

I only have to say that I have a very simmilar problem, I'm sure that
I've compiled into my kernel all the stuff to get working mi pendrive
but when I plug it it doesn't appear nothing and I don't hav the usb
in /dev/

I've run  gzcat /proc/config.gz |grep -i usb |egrep -v '#'
 , and this is my output:
CONFIG_USB=y
CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y
CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD=y
CONFIG_USB_UHCI_HCD=m
CONFIG_USB_PRINTER=y
CONFIG_USB_STORAGE=y
CONFIG_USB_HID=y
CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT=y

Maybe I'll probe to put all in modules instead of compiled into the
kernel, but if annyone have any suggestion :)

Thanks,
¿gexplorer?

2005-02-26 Thread Mark Creamer
The command gzcat /proc/config.gz |grep -i usb |egrep -v '#' returns this:
CONFIG_USB=y
CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y
CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD=y
CONFIG_USB_OHCI_HCD=y
CONFIG_USB_PRINTER=y
CONFIG_USB_STORAGE=y
CONFIG_USB_STORAGE_RW_DETECT=y

CONFIG_USB_STORAGE_SDDR09=y
CONFIG_USB_STORAGE_SDDR55=y
CONFIG_USB_HID=y
CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT=y
CONFIG_USB_MDC800=y

The only USB device I have now that I would like to use is a USB mouse.
Currently it's plugged into the PS2 port with one of those adapters

lsusb is not found on my system

 Could you also post exactly *what* it is that isn't working (e.g.
 joystick, memory stick, etc) as that will help to nail down which
 modules you do need to be loaded.
