[gentoo-dev] archfs - filesystem for rdiff-backup archives
Hello everyone, This is my first mail here, so I would like to introduce myself. My name is Filip Gruszczyński, I am studying CS at the Warsaw University. I am currently developing small filesystem, that makes accessing rdiff-backup archives a lot easier. This project is a part of Google Summer of Code, under mentorship of Gentoo Foundation. Unfortunately I know very few people, who actually use rdiff-backup and I can hardly find anyone, who would like to provide me with some feedback or feature requests. I am very interested in opinions and advice, as this is my first large, OSS project. Filesystem can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/archfs/. The code is still very immature and I am far from accepting its quality, yet all basic features I wanted this filesystem to have are already there. Now I would like to focus on quality and robustness, and that is why external opinion would be very useful. If anyone here uses rdiff-backup and would like to take look and then inform me about the results, I would be very happy. -- Filip Gruszczyński éí˘^ž§ś(Ž X§XŹ

[gentoo-dev] Call for more photos on planet.g.o
Hi everyone, As an avid Planet reader, I'd like to call all fellow devs aggregated on planet.gentoo.org to provide real and friendly pictures in Hackergotchi style. Reading Planet Gnome everyday as well, I really like what they have done with their hackergotchis and it makes the whole Planet much more fun and it also puts friendly human faces on Gnome. I was wondering if we could do that as well for Gentoo, to further improve the image of our beloved distro. It'd be also quite useful for conferences such as FOSDEM where people could just recognize one another more easily. I hereby volunteer to make hackergotchis out of whatever pictures you'll send my way. Quick stats for today : People with hackergotchis - welp - cryos - mark_alec - Larry The Cow - nichoj - graaff - voyageur - dang - flameeyes People with funky pictures - dirtyepic - nightmorph - beandog If you guys could send in real pictures, that'd be real nice. The other devs just don't have anything ... Please send in a nice picture of yourselves, I'll cut it out nicely and forward it to infra. Let's put more smiling faces on Planet Gentoo ! :) Rémi -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list

Re: [gentoo-dev] Nominations open for the Gentoo Council 2007/08
I'd like to nominate Marien Zwarts (marienz) for the Council 2007/2008. I believe he would make an excellent council member, not only does he have the technical smarts necessary to help give the council the technical spine it needs, but he also has incredible skills when it comes to people management and interacting with other members of the community.
