  All,

Google is once again doing the summer of code for students. I'm helping
organize it this year and am putting out a call for some elements to help.

  1) We need idea's for things to do. Diego has already submitted some via
his blog which have been taken into consideration.

 - sandbox porting to Darwin, Solaris, FreeBSD (flameeyes), NetBSD and
OpenBSD (would love AIX, IRIX, True64, HPUX and Interix too ;) )
 - sandbox implementation of bug #205312
 - baselayout porting to Prefix (mostly the start stop mechanisms)
 - scanmacho (scanelf for Darwin) tool (to replace otool)
 - make packages.g.o searchable
 - combine packages.g.o and tinderbox.d.g.o
 - binary Prefix bootstrap (ultimately using what's on tinderbox.d.g.o)

  2) We need mentors, so far confirmed I have: Diego and Saleem

For the above things where I don't step on others' toes, yes.

Probaby i could do some mentor work afterall :-)

It's my please to introduce to you Dawid cla Węgliński. A fellow
with enough weird letters in his name and who hails from Kłodzko,
Poland, cla is going to start a new artwork project so we are
expecting a lot of good quality wallpapers etc to follow. At least
this time the German conspiracy is not growing :)

Dawid is a part-time forestry student at Cracow University and works
in the forestry as well. He likes to listen to Polish alternative
music or classic rock. For other details feel free to poke him on IRC.

Give him the usual warn welcome,
 Petteri

But Polish Conspiracy is gettin' bigger and bigger :P

Re: [gentoo-dev] Spider's Resignation from the Project

2006-10-12 Thread Damian Florczyk
 there was just few
developers and just a bit more users around. But I think that is the way
of growning projects from fun to responsiblity. Is it good? Well it's
hard to say. I hope that discussion will be best to resolv this problem.

It goes without saying that now would be the time to unleash a few

Hmm Gentoo/Opensolaris i was thinking about this but i dont have enough
time to start working on it. I think bootstraping portage on Opensolaris
wouldn't be so hard because it would be GNU/Opensoalris anyway.
