[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs

2011-06-12 Thread Michal Januszewski
Hi,

I have a number of packages in which I have lost interest and which I
no longer want to maintain:

app-admin/hddtemp
app-misc/linux-logo
dev-util/oprofile
net-libs/libtlen
sci-mathematics/gimps
sci-mathematics/xmds
sci-misc/vitables
sys-apps/fakechroot
sys-apps/fakeroot-ng
sys-apps/memtest86+
www-client/elinks
x11-misc/xfractint

All the packages require relatively low maintenance and currently have
no open bugs (with the exception on memtest86+ and bug #339691).

I will reassign them to maintainer-needed in about a week. If you
want to take them, please just add yourself to metadata.xml directly.

Thanks,

[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs

2010-03-25 Thread Michal Januszewski
Hi,

I have a bunch of packages that I no longer use and have little to no
motivation to maintain. I will be replacing myself with
maintainer-needed in their metadata.xml in a few days. If you want to
take them, feel free to edit metadata.xml directly -- no need to ask
for permission :)

> net-analyzer/gspoof
> net-im/ekg
> net-im/gnugadu
> net-im/tleenx2
> net-libs/libtlen

These are all low maintenance packages with no open bugs, the
exception being ekg, for which there is an open request for a live
ebuild (bug 300017).

Thanks,

[gentoo-dev] Maintainer needed for dev-util/biew

2008-09-07 Thread Michal Januszewski
Hi,

As I'm longer using biew in any way and don't really have any interest
in maintaining it, I'm looking for someone to take it over. The package
has no open bugs and is seldom updated, but could use a version bump.

If you are willing to maintain it, feel free to remove me from
metadata.xml and put yourself there instead.

Best regards.

Not that I know of. I need these libs to be compiled against klibc,
not glibc. AFAIK I just have to build them along with the rest of
fbcondecor_helper.

Thanks, I've just submitted a change which should fix all of these in the
latest ebuild.

Best regards.

splashutils is a _userspace_ splash. fbsplash isn't, but then it only
provides the "verbose" mode (background pictures on system consoles) and
there is no way of doing that in userspace (other than implementing the
whole console system in userspace, which has indeed been proposed and
might get done one day).

Which fb driver doesn't it work with?

It depends on the definition of "actively" :) But to say that fbdev is
unmaintained would be, IMO, an exaggeration.

media-gfx/bootsplash

We don't provide any kernels patched with bootsplash anymore and
media-gfx/bootsplash has no support for baselayout-2. media-gfx/splashutils
together with the fbsplash patches provides the same functionality as
bootsplash.

I can take these since I already do fb-related stuff.

[gentoo-dev] Last rites for media-gfx/fbi

2006-07-08 Thread Michal Januszewski
Hello,

I have just added media-gfx/fbi to package.mask and will remove it from
the tree in about 30 days. The program is no longer developed upstream
in its original form. Instead, it is now a part of the 'fbida' project,
which provides a bunch of simple applications for viewing and editing
images. fbida is available as media-gfx/fbida.

Best regards.

[gentoo-dev] Last rites for dev-util/bitkeeper

2006-02-04 Thread Michal Januszewski
Hi,

The guys at BitMover stopped providing free versions of bitkeeper almost
half a year ago. Currently only an evaluation version is available on
their website. I don't think there is any point in having ebuilds for
evaluation versions in Portage.

The package (dev-util/bitkeeper) is currently masked. If nobody objects,
I'll remove it from the tree next Saturday (2006-02-11).

Best regards.
