[gentoo-user] Gentoo 1.4-rc3 on Dell Latitude C800
Hi I am new to Gentoo. I was trying to install Gentoo 1.4 rc3 on my Dell Latitude C800. I tried booting up with the: gentoo-3stages-x86-1.4_rc3.iso gentoo-basic-x86-1.4_rc3.iso In both cases, the network card (Xircom CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Mode 56) is not recognized. I tried the steps listed on the documentation: I tried insmod and modprobe, but no dice.Is it essential to have the network card configuredduring the installation? Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.
